Great place to take the girlfriend for Valentine’s Day. Tasty food, plus calm and cozy vibes
Waited 20mins to get a bottle of wine. Arrived when appetizers were almost finished.
Great place for a Valentines Dinner
Candles, lighting and special menu all added up to make it a wonderful evening.
Outstanding menu, food expertly prepared. Fantastic wine list.
Server was rather lax and inattentive. Too bad
My wife, who is a serious foodie, and I loved the full dinner experience. We were able to have a conversation without shouting, and really appreciated Chef Nicola coming out to speak with us, providing great insight into his favorite dish
All food is homemade and wonderful. Service is attentive but not overbearing. The owner is delightful and makes you feel like part of the family.
Nicola has become one of our favorite evenings out.
In the summer the patio is quiet and peaceful. This last week our evening inside was warm and cosy.
The ambience both outside and inside is wonderful. The service is pleasant and efficient and the food is very good. I highly recommend the veal marsala
We will be back!
Overall very pleased but food seemed a bit pricey
Great attentive service. Owner/chef stoped by the table to greet and welcome us. Will go again.
Great atmosphere, service and food! Chef Nicola personally visited our table to make sure our meal was good. Both he and his wife are very personable and friendly. Try the creamy Lemoncello to end your meal ~ you won’t be disappointed.
The staff is super friendly. The food is great. I love the atmosphere.
A tavola si sta sempre in alegria!
Came here to celebrate a birthday. We’re usually here every 4-6 weeks as it’s a very enjoyable experience. Very good basic Italian menu supplemented by a good variety of specials. Overall, very attentive and friendly atmosphere. Stop in and give it a try.
My first experience was excellent, which is why I returned. This time the service was very slow, the parking lot was icy, my salad had brown lettuce. I took Friends there for the first time and we were all just a little disappointed. Also, many restaurants provide a free birthday dessert. Nicola does not do that. Also a disappointment.
Great all the way around. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The food was very good, the service very slow. We were shocked however when my husband ordered the daily special which was grouper, and on when the bill came the grouper was $39. It certainly wasn't worth that...not sure any grouper is. Also we had a to go order of the trout but we were supposed to get broccoli instead of the zucchini boats...but when we got home, no broccoli...we got the zucchini boat which we pitched. If you want good food, this place is fine, but you will pay big time...with mediocre service. I really wanted to like this place and really want it to succeed, but I won't be going back
Excellent menu options. Salty, so if you are used to a low salt diet specify this to the waiter. Great Italian food.
Unfortunately, service was so terrible. Overshadowed meal. Waitress seemed annoyed. Extremely slow. Quite embarrassing- had friends in town to celebrate post holidays, heard good things about restaurant- thought we’d give it a try, a mistake! Cold January night- employees kept leaving back door open. Everyone were freezing. Happy to finally get our check and go elsewhere.
Wonderful meal this evening at this Tuscany themed Italian restaurant. Great service, great food, & nice atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!
Great menu. Veal ravioli was wonderful. Nice wine list. Service is great!
Great neighborhood restaurant.
This is our favorite Italian restaurant in Columbus. The chef/owner prepares wonderful entrees. The tagliatelle funghi is outstanding. The calamari appetizer is the best we have eaten. It is not oily at all. Mah other great options for entrees.
The Happy Hour menu is long and amazingly inexpensive.
The food and service has made us regular customers that are happy to drive 17 miles one way for this cuisine!
GREAT local restaurant with great food. Perfect for a quiet leisurely dinner with a date or friend. Chef Nicola himself came out and checked that we were having a good time. LOVE IT!
Excellent service and cuisine! Highly recommend!
Everything was wonderful
Our fist visit and we found the food to be great and the service excellent.
I've been here twice and the food is EXCEPTIONAL! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The only 2 suggestions I have is adding a hostess at the front and some adding more servers. Both times I went we were waiting about 5 minutes at the front door before being greeted and the service could have been more timely if an additional server or two had been on staff. Overall I would absolutely recommend this restaurant and will definitely return.
Normally we love LaTavola, but New Year's Eve this year was not a great experience. The Mexican restaurant next door had a live mariachi band, and the drum pounding made conversation at our table practically nonexistent. We had to shout to hear one another. I know there was nothing Nicola could do, but it made the evening less than enjoyable. As always, the food and service were top shelf.
New Years eve reservation. Unfortunately the menu was very limited but what was offered was very good. I would like to go back and have the opportunity to try the full menu offerings...
We have followed Nicola and Speranza Bedali for years. Great food and hospitality, and an opportunity to practice my Italian.
Excellent food and service! The scallops were especially good.
Very slow service...... food was very good but overpriced.
We returned for yet another Christmas Eve dinner. Our meals were great!
Our first time to this restaurant. We arrived with high expectations, and unfortunately, we left disappointed.
Nicola is an intimate, off-the-beaten path Italian eatery that's a gem of Columbus, Ohio's culinary scene. The attentive service and exceptional, authentic cuisine make us keep coming back.
The four of us went for the first time and we were not disappointed. The Christmas decorations and fireplace fire in the room to the left of the bar made it beautiful and cozy. Three of us had delicious dinners. The spaghetti bolognese, clam chowder, beet salad, mushroom flatbread were all excellent. Unfortunately, the fourth guest had a braised round steak with vegetables in which the beef was not that tender. He also had wanted a draft beer but had to settle for bottled beer. To top off the evening, the tiramisu dessert was one of the best we've had.
Love this restaurant ! Had a very unfriendly and unhappy server that somewhat spoiled an otherwise great dining experience.
We love everything about Nicolas
Did not like Ciopinno Too oily, no flavor wrong bread for dipping
