Always amazing food. The best chicken Alfredo in the North End. However, we asked for a dogie bag and the waiter never came back. Great food - usually great service and over a very fun place!
Bartender was good, although she spent a lot of time with the people next to us talking about their personal lives, so a little distracting. Everything was okay - nothing to draw us back, but okay. Food was okay - nothing special compared the many other restaurants in the North End. We decided to try a new restaurant rather than going to our old stand-by, and it was just okay. Probably wouldn't make a special date to return because there are too many others to try - and we want outstanding when we dine.
You really cannot go wrong in the North End but Nico’s is a step above. Valet parking, great service, spectacular food, and a great bar. We sat upstairs which is preferable for atmosphere.
Our waiter made a delicious meal a more wonderful event because of his friendliness. He made excellent wine suggestions, as well as food.
The waiter Ty couldn’t have been better and more accommodating. Highly recommend.
Overall, great value for the money. Wonderful atmosphere.
Great food, perfect North End restaurant with authentic Italian cuisine & service was fantastic.
Food was delicious (meatballs of course) but make sure you specify what wine you want off the menu or you may get a $$ one. Dinner companion did say it was fantastic but it better be at $23 a glass. My negative is the veggie options are extremely poor.
Nico is a typical North End Italian restaurant. We were seated downstairs which is not very nice - noisy and crowded. The service was very good - our waiter was attentive and water glasses were constantly being filled. The food was good, but not great. The calamari and spaghetti dish was disappointing - very, very spicy and not much seafood. The other dishes were good. The portions were huge - no one finished their meal. Nico is a fine restaurant, but there are far better options on Hanover Street.
Appetizers & Pasta is very good ,especially the meatball. The veal chop special came with a muddy blonde colored Demi glacé which had very little flavor. The veal chop itself was very good. The prosciutto and smoked mozzarella appetizer was excellent.
Nico is always delicious, great food and great service!
The lobster crepes were "TO DIE FOR"! So much lobster in one sitting! Was delicious, service was impeccable.
Best ravioli we’ve ever had!! Can’t wait to come back when it’s warmer and during the day to try some different dishes!
We had so much fun at Nico's for my birthday dinner! I live nearby and go there often, and every time I go there it's a great experience. The servers and bartenders all are so accommodating and happy always. One of my favorite places in the North End!
Service was excellent and food delicious. We enjoyed the prosciutto plate, calamari, and linguini with clams scampi. All 3 are highly recommended.
One of our favorite North End restaurants zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
The meal was delicious, per usual. What I love the most is the scoop of fresh ricotta included with a few dishes. I’ve never encountered that anywhere else and believe it adds a special something to the dish. Our waiter was hilarious and professional. Which made for a fun atmosphere. Lost a star due to our table position. I wish the curtains were drawn because we kept getting blasted by cold air every time the door opened.
Celebrated my birthday with my wife while staying in Boston over night. Picked Nico out of all the North End restaurants based upon reviews and our knowledge of the North End. It was our first visit and I can't wait to go back. We had the Caprese salad first; it was one of the best we've had (just the right amount of season and a great balsamic glaze). I had the veal valdostana and again it was one of the best I've tasted. My wife had a chicken dish and it was just okay but we didn't expect much; she was trying to stay away from sauce. We skipped dessert to stop at Modern Pastry on the walk back to the hotel.
r table was ready when we arrived. We had a great server who was very helpful with our wine selection.
Fabulous food and great ambiance!
Cute little spot to have a great dinner. We ordered one of the evenings specials, Ciopinno and one item off the menu. Both were more flavorful than expected. Waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and was there whenever we needed him.
Great hostess. She was very friendly and eager to please.
I would definitely go back!
We loved Nico! The food was delicious and our server James was the best. There are so many great restaurants in the North End, and Nico is one you have to try. We’ll definitely be back.
Extremely large portions of wonderful food. Prices, especially for specials, sound high until you see the size of the portions and taste the food! We had excellent servers at the bar and at the table. Everyone was helpful, assisting with dragging scarves and heavy coats on a freezing night in the North End. Tables are close together, but far enough apart for the waiters. We left with two to-go bags after generous chicken and lobster dishes could not be finished. Nice lunch the next day!
Really recommend the lobster meat risotto which was a special the evening we went for dinner. Also the Nico's sangria was a different and enjoyable start to the evening.
Food was fantastic. I had the duck ravioli with prosecco cream sauce and it was amazing!
Husband had the chicken parm and it was super tender. Server was great and very attentive.
While the restaurant is very small and somewhat cramped, the overall experience was A+
Every thing was fantastic! Table was ready, good/friendly waite staff. Food and portions were excellant!
We had a wonderful double date at Nico! Hakeem gave us outstanding service!
Great restaurant and a great meal in the North End. Sat downstairs which isn’t the same as upstairs but still very nice. My daughter and I loved our dinner but my wife was disappointed in her special.
Great food, wonderful wait staff!
It is hard to go wrong with any restaurant in the North End, but this is definitely my favorite, and I have tried a large number over the past 30+ years in Boston.
Fantastic restaurant and one of our new favorites (and we try a different location every year). We were seated right at time of reservation and food was fantastic. We would highly recommend Nico's.
Stopped by on our overnight in Boston. We were seated downstairs, very cozy. The veal Marsala was very good. Loved my pasta dish. I had a nice glass of Merlot. The wait staff was very attentive. We will be back.
Outstanding service on top of delicious Italian!
From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a great meal! James our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable! Our meals were outstanding! Nico is just a bit above the hustle and bustle of the North End and was so worth the extra block up!!
Xmas eve dinner, for second Xmas in a row. Turning into our go to spot. Everything was fantastic, from food to service. We were seated in the basement, which was fine, but it was a little noisy, which took away from the experience. Only real negative, and not that big a deal. Server was excellent...suggestive, and attentive. Will be back next Xmas for sure, and most likely again during the year. Great place
Had great night out with the family... It was just as nice as I remembered it from five years ago....Always love the vibe and gives me a little piece of Italy....nothing like fresh made pasta....
My friend came up from DC and he wanted Italian food. The menu had "Hand-made" pasta... and I was sold! Small place, great food, and engaging wait staff.
I don’t understand why the movie Gotti was playing on loop everywhere in the restaurant, including right next to our table. It was weird.
Delicious fresh homemade pasta! Appealing presentation! Excellent friendly and helpful service! Will go back!
Eaten at many restaurants in Boston. I always wind up back at Nico. Always a great experience. The meat sauce is like going back to your grandmas house for Sunday dinners. Hakeem is the best waiter in the business
Food was excellent and portions were large. The wait staff was very attentive. Very good experience!
Appetizers were excellent
Calamari was really tasty
All 3 pasta enters were delish
No issues sitting in basement
Wine prices are a little steep for bottles
