I had been to Nick’s earlier in the week for brunch and loved the food. I just had to come back and try their lunch menu. The food was amazing. The service was absolutely wonderful. I can’t wait to come back to try their dinner menu.
Eaten here many times. Only thing even with open table when they confirm you reservation they don’t tell you that it might be in the bar or outside. If you have children you don’t want to be in the back of the bar area. This is my main complaint. They should confirm inside outside and the bar separate
As usual the food is excellant and our service is exceptional.
My group had a lovely evening. Entrees were prepared to perfection. Only disappointment was the bitter after-dinner coffee, and to a lesser degree the seating in the bar area after making a dinner reservation weeks in advance.
We have eaten at Nicks numerous times. In the past the Bistro plate has been quite good and a great deal. The last 2 times, though, they reduced the filet portion and changed the salad. It has not been as good as in the past. We will try it again to see. Perhaps the chef changed?
I usually like Nicks. But this time I got a taco platter that is $35 ($44 with tax and tip, no drink or anything). I’ve gotten that before and it is sometimes great. But the piece of fish was very small (like 3 ounces) and a bit undercooked. Ridiculous for a $44 plate of tacos! So not worth it!
Really like the place. Cheese plate was good. Shrimp taquitos were good. Only turn off was a good amount of pin bones in the salmon bites in the cioppino. My wife's ciopino had the same problem. Pin bones in the salmon bites. After we told our waitress, she apologized and said a manager would come by. Manager never came by. Waitress said management would remove the cioppino from our bill, but they didn't. We didn't bring it up and left. Don't think we'll rush to return.
I have been to Nick's two times and have enjoyed it both times. I like to sit on the porch to avoid the loud noise of so many restaurants these days. It has convenient parking underneath and the food was good. The wine prices are a bit high but I would still go back.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday by having dinner on Nick’s patio. The patio was wonderful. We had a view of the Christmas-decorated trees. I ordered a filet, which was much better as well as much cheaper than the filet I had recently at one of our very pricey local steakhouses. Service was wonderful and the butter cake is sinful as well as essential.
I always enjoy going to Nick’s. The food & service is consistently excellent. Great place to join up with a few friends.
They gave us a card thanking us for celebrating our anniversary with them and all (?) of the servers signed the card. Great touch to a wonderful anniversary dinner.
Met a business associate here for dinner on Friday evening and it was an excellent experience both for the very tasty food and also outstanding service by all the staff including our server, Egan (sp?).
The food at Nick's was excellent and particular attention was paid to the need to gluten-free food.
Wonderful food and service. Our favorite
Everything is always very solid here. The service is always great. The food is always amazing and it’s a fun casual place. I was here for my birthday and they were very welcoming.
MY FRIEND VISITS YOUR LOCATIONS IN ORANGE COUNTY. TOLD ME THE FOOD WAS GREAT AND THE FOOD IS GREAT. I'LL BE BACK.
Pulled short rib eggs Benedict! And yum skinny omelette with avacado toast. A fav!
Nick's never disappoints. Always great service, great cocktails and great food.
Always love coming to Nick's. If you start with the asparagus fries (to die for) and the amazing artichoke, you will set the meal tone off right!
Great for A fun birthday celebration...really enjoyed the meal and service!!
Loved the menu. Best Cappacino ever great diverse menu
The food is delicious , wonderful service - I enjoyed sitting on the Open air patio which overlooks the plaza- I celebrated my birthday here nice touch they gave me a Birthday card from the staff. Highly recommend
It was my wife dirty day. And they give her a card signed Dylan the whole staff. This was really nice touch.
I’ve been to a lot of restaurants. This is the first time for a nice card Keep up the great work !!
I ordered the artichoke and sea bass. The artichoke was SUPERB! The sea bass was cooked to perfection. The potatoes were very good as well. Can't remember the vegetables but it was good. The service could not have been better. We were seated immediately and given our menus. Water was brought within a very short time. Artichokes were an appetizer for my group and they were brought to the table quickly. My only possible negative would be the noise level. Inside it would have been impossible to hear ANYTHING so we opted for sitting outside. It was very pleasant but, again, the noise level prohibited us from having any quality discussions. I'm not certain what they could do to remedy that problem but I've decided lunchtime will my choice of dining time.
Brilliant! The reviews are right on, a marvelous local spot for dinner, smart casual, not too noisy. Very attentive service and great menu choices at reasonable prices too!
We recommend the “Bistro Plate” dinner
offering- a small filet Mignon , a soup and a salad are included. Delicious and quite a bargain at $22.
Fantastic food and service
We love coming to Nick's for brunch during the weekends. We usually make reservations on OpenTable, so we don't have to wait. I recommend the skinny omelet and buttermilk pancakes. The buttermilk pancakes taste like their butter cake dessert. 10/10 recommend coming to Nick's for brunch!
always consistently above average. our neighborhood go to spot. you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. among the favorites to note is the artichoke, chicken and waffles, bistro plate, filet, and any of the fish dishes. the new wedge salad is a very welcome new addition to the menu.
Terrific for a variety of salads & entrees, service is usually always excellent, even with a newly-hired server who was a trainee the night we were there!
Ciopino was the best I’ve ever had! First time at this restaurant. Very glad we made the choice to try Nick’s out. It was OUTSTANDING
Absolutely love the food at Nick's! A little pricey, but worth it every once in a while. Difficult to get reservations, so had to pick 5:00 PM. Very disappointed in noise level at that hour. LOTS of small children, screaming babies, etc. Tough to justify paying over $100 for a meal when it feels like you are sitting at Chuck E. Cheese. If you want an adult experience, I would suggest going much later in the evening.
We had Christian as a server. He was excellent and attentive. All of the service staff were so nice.
We’re definitely going to ask to be seated in his area the next time we go back.
The only thing I didn’t like this time around was the reservation. Had a reservation at 4:30 ( I wanted to be outdoors ) they said that it would be another 30 minutes for patio.
OpenTable should have the option to request patio or indoors when reserving.
Had a great time with outstanding food and great personal service - even a birthday card.
Normally when we go to Nick's I give it top ratings all around. However, the Saturday we went most recently was VERY busy. We usually get a booth next to the kitchen, but the only one available was next to the bar. In retrospect, we should have waited until one was available next to the kitchen area. The music was way too loud (with very strong bass reverberations) for us older folks, although it did not seem to bother those in the bar. The service we received was not terrible, but since the restaurant was very busy, it was not up to the levels we usually receive. It was so loud, we could not even be tempted to stay long enough to enjoy a butter cake. So although we will definitely not stop going to Nick's, we will pick our times more carefully in the future.
Service was mostly quick and efficient. But $5 for an orange juice? And lots of pretentious WASPs. Made it clear I wasn’t allowed to be there.
Great brunch menu and good strong coffee! The wait staff is very good.
I have been to Nick's no less than a half dozen times and it is always a great experience. Not inexpensive but not over priced either! Have a meal there and you too will enjoy the experience.
This is a special place and if the weather is nice, wait for an outdoor table. Lovely. The food is excellent and pretty good value for the money spent. I had the fried chicken dinner and it was to die for. Someone else had the fish and loved it. You can't go wrong. Oh, and you can bring in a bottle of wine and there is no corkage fee! If you bring two more (total of 3 which is allowed) the 2nd and 3rd bottle are a $15 corkage fee. what a deal!
