Nick's Lobster Ratings and Reviews
We came at an off hour however there was a table adjacenct to ours with a screaming kid. Not just ordinary screams but piercing higg pitched screams. The child, was being tickled incessantly throughout the meal by an idiot adult so it wasnt his fault. I asked our waitress to please ask them to stop it but they refused to speak to them. Additionally, we asked for our soup, salad and appetizers to come out in stages but our request was ignored and it all came at once. We couldn’t eat it all that way so by the time we got to our mussels they were cold. The waitress offered to take the food back to yhe kitchen to kerp it warm but the mussels were already over cooked as were the baked clams. The clam chowder was passable if a but gooey. We come here because the water views are pretty but the service and food does need work. The lobster deal on Tuesdays is a good deal though.
My group had a wonderful dinner at Nick’s after paddling in Jamaica Bay. I ate the delicious Canadian lobster. It was sweet and flavorful and prepared perfectly. The real surprise was the Birthday Boat dessert. My friends asked for a piece of cake with a candle to celebrate my birthday and the restaurant provided two feet of dessert for our party of seven!
I made a reservation for my mom's birthday who loves their steak beyond any other restaurant and they did not disappoint! Everyone else had seafood, and it each choice is superb. Every staff member encountered wa courteous! We had an amazing hostess, wait staff, and bus boys who were all accommodating of the three rambunctious toddlers in our party. We also brought a cake and there was no pocket dissolving cake cutting fee! They took our cake to their kitchen, placed and lit our candles and brought it out and sang an amazing Happy Birthday rendition to my mom. The manager who is apart of the family business came toward the end of our visit and even asked us about our experience which was an amazing touch. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Nick's to anyone looking for amazing land and seafood, as well as a cozy, unforgettable dining experience!!
Made a reservation for my moms birthday for 4 on a sat night, but had a 5th person tag along and the host was still very accommodating and happy to seat us without a wait. The food was very good and all our lobsters were fresh as excepted. Our server Linda was amazing! Sang happy birthday and everything, very attentive and friendly. The food was great but the service would make me continue coming back!
Overall a good experience, however service was truly lacking. Food tasted good and came out in reasonable time. Appetizers and drinks were out pretty quickly (~10 minutes), and the main courses took a while (over 45 minutes), for which we were warned, so that was expected. As far as service, our table wasn't cleaned regularly to remove dirty dishes and utensils. Had to ask multiple times for water refills.
I was so excited to experience Nick's with my family and friends and it was awful!!! We had a reservation but had to wait a half hour to be seated after arriving. Once seated we placed order pretty promptly as we were hungry and then the real probls started. We didn't order anything complicated yet it took upwards of 45 minutes for the first dishes to arrive and they arrived lukewarm and incomplete. We had to then wait 20+ minutes for sides and condiments. We expressed displeasure to the server who scolded us for. It ordering apps and giving the kitchen enough time to prepare dishes. You'd think the food would've shown up piping hot but nope it was cold. We spoke with manager, and he went back and forth with us not accepting any blame for the deplorable service making it seem to be our fault for not ordering appetizers, etc. the customer service is awful. We even asked for salad dressing 5 times and it took 30 minutes to arrive.
Went Saturday night with my family there was a dj playing great music Johnny p was the name I believe. We sat outside and it was so nice. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive . The sangria was DELICIOUS , all my family's meals were also great. I definitely plan on coming again .
This was our first time at Nick's. Must have driven last it 100 times. Finally made reservations. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a nice seafood dinner. Service was courteous. Food was delish. Cocktail was on point! We'll definitely go again and recommend it to friends.
Food was wonderful and the service was great, but the music at 7:00 pm on a Saturday evening was so inappropriately loud, we almost asked to have our meals put straight into boxes to eat at home. Find out if they're having a DJ or band in advance and if so, don't go. Otherwise, it's the best!
Restaurant was good, service was better thanks to our waiter and manager Kenny. He worked hard to accommodate my request for a window table. Make sure you request in advance to ensure that you don't have to wait. Bread seemed a little stale, and rum used in the Pina Colada was definitely from the well. Otherwise, lobster was good and a good value.
We went on Tuesday because they advertise 2-for-1 lobster night. There were 3-of us and when the bill came it read::3@$30/each. We inquired and were told that's how the register works.
Also may wife ordered 2-vodka & club soda and we were charged $12./drink. Very over-priced.
We will not be going back for quite some time and cannot recommend it to friends and family.
Appetizers, drinks and main course was amazing. our server Ally was spectacular and did a great customer service job. The food was well tasting, cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was great and very authentic seafood restaurant. We had the best time and will be visiting this restaurant again.
We had a party of 11 and Magaly (spelling?) was an amazing server! Our order was correct, food was hot, drinks were delicious and we had a wonderful time. There was no mix ups, no mess ups and no mishaps. We asked them to store an ice cream cake for us in the freezer and they did that with no issue. We were accommodated for the entire afternoon and it was a great time.
