Naturally, Nicks Fishmarket in Rosemont is the place to go for fresh seafood. The dining environment alone is fitting of any occasion, and the food is cooked to perfection when ordered. Many people opt for a simple soup and salad for lunch, and the lobster bisque is always a popular selection. Nicks Fishmarket also serves a house, Caesar or special Nevada Nicks salad for those looking for something a bit lighter.
For dinner, Nicks Fishmarket has Chilean seabass, vodka pasta and fish and chips on the menu. Beyond the array of food, the full bar makes this a great place to grab a beer, glass of wine or a sprit or two with friends and colleagues.
We have been going here since the opened
I hope you are going to open another location
Would highly recommend the restaurant to everyone. 👍👍👍👍👍
Hidden gem. Enjoyed the experience.
Dishes were expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The service was attentive.
Sad that our favorite restaurant is closing. We will miss it, especially the unparalleled service, the beautiful paintings and overall decor.
We were celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary as we have done at Nicks so many years.. We are so sad it is closing. We need more elegant restaurants like we had in the past.
Everything is becoming too casual and people don't know how to dress properly to go to a good restaurant.
Apparently this location is closing and has lost a number of employees. witnessed a number of "diners" leave angry on a Friday night because they needed to get to their show and had not received their food. The kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed by a combination of lack of staff and a unusually large number of guests all needing to be out on time.
Our primary waiter was fine and attentive, however, the young waiter that served our dove sole was not very good at removing the bones and serving the filets.
even the waiter aknowledged they were short staffed !
it was pathetic !
we were there 90 minutes and only had soup and salad , my daughter asked for croutons and never got them, none of us had time to eat our main dish, we even had to beg for bread ! my son didn't eat at all because He didn't order salad , only an entree !
frustrating slow service !!!!
very bad !
We made a 6:00pm reservation for dinner prior to a concert at Allstate Arena; targeted to leave the restaurant at 7:30pm Booked a booth in the bar which was great. Our service was beyond poor. We waited 20 minutes for a server to take a drink order, and then had to get up and ask someone to come to our table. Our drinks were delivered and we told the server that we would be ordering dinner. Again, we had to flag him down to come to the table. He asked for our order but had never given us menus! We all ordered an entree, and my date also ordered a soup. After 30 minutes (by now we had only 10 minutes to eat), he delivered my date's soup, then a few minutes later brought two of the 3 entrees. My date never got his entree; the bill was not itemized and we were late for the concert. I can't even comment on the salmon entree, as I had to eat it in 5 minutes. Will never go back.
terrible experience. ordered and never received our food. after 1.5 hour left the restaurant along with at least 8 other tables - same issue. unbelievable.
Going out of business food never came after 1-1/2 hours we left and so did many other. Don't go.
You must be kidding. There was nothing good about our dinner. The dinner was terrible. Ordered salmon one way and it came another. Ordered it medium and it was very dry...couldn't even eat it. We called it to the attention of waiter and he took them away and someone came over ...but did nothing. Just walked away and brought the bill. Absolutely nothing was done. Paid the bill, and didn't even have dinner except for the drinks, plain rolls and a salad. Then on the way out we where told they where closing in two weeks.
Still no way to treat dinners who came for a nice meal... We where in town and had a concert, and was looking forward to your restaurant. The way it was handled was inexcusable.
Horrible experience. We made early reservations because we were going to a show later in the evening. We were sat promptly, ordered drinks and an appetizer and our server was very nice. He even mentioned - we should put our dinner order in so we can get to our show. Drinks came, appetizer came, then we sat and sat... We got our salads. But our server was busy attending to almost all the other tables we could see in our area... We noticed other tables becoming irritated. No food was coming out of the kitchen. We had been there almost 1.5 hours and we're still waiting for our dinners. We couldn't wait any longer so we asked for the check. We were then informed that they only had two cooks in the kitchen and orders were backed up. We were so disappointed. The restaurant was practically full and people were leaving without eating anything. We heard the food was very tasty and from our salads and appetizers, I agree. We wish our server or a manager had told us what was going on, but we were left in the dark. They should have said something or not filled all the tables knowing they only had two cooks. We were there for over 2 hours and couldn't get a complete meal.
Ambiance is old world upscale - staff in tuxes, cherry panel room. Service was very slow, friendly, though not especially knowledgeable, and certainly not attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meals, apps and wine, though two of the three meals were served lukewarm. Given the cost of the meal, this s/b a top notch experience, but it was not.
Food and service great...lobster risotto lots of flavor..my only issue is price...every price point is at least 15% higher than most seafood quality restaurants....
Saddened by the news that the restaurant is closing. Comparable Club House is not really comparable at all, unless you go for expensive hamburgers. Will miss the unique service and food and ambiance at the Rosemont Nick's Fishmarket.
We dined at Nick's Fishmarket tho celebrate our anniversary. We enjoyed the dining experience. The staff was very attentive including Niko and the service was great. I had the Blue Crab Crusted Tilapia and it was delicious.
The food is always very good at Nick's Fishmarket, and this visit was no different. We love eating there with our board. Unfortunately, this visit did have the exception that the service was not very good. We had our usual head waiter and that was all working well, but the two servers who delivered the orders were slow, made mistakes on who got what food, and missed the same person twice, once with the menu, and then with his coffee. These probably are pretty excusable mistakes, but left a sour note to our evening
Very old place which needs to be updated
A little pricey, but the quality of food and service exceeded my expectations.
This is the fifth or sixth time I have eaten at Nick's. As usual, the experience was great. I had the Sockeye Salmon Special and it was superb. The service was attentive and the food marvelous. The only caution I would have is that the meal was pricey, just over $100.00 w/o tip for two people and no alcohol.
This was a great place to host a client dinner. Private room allowed for privacy. Service and food were top rate! We had a party of 12 - everyone loved every part of their meal. While Nick's has been around for a while and not on the "new and trendy" lists - it is "consistent and high quality" which is every bit as important.
Starting to look a little worn around the edges. Even the front door was banged up.
Old fashioned elegance with modern and traditional food preparation and service. This is a nice up to date restaurant with a truly elegant style without being stuffy. A great place to dine if you enjoy excellent food and service.
I was in the area for business and decided to try Nick's with a colleague. The menu was quite pricey, so we were expecting to be wowed. Since we wanted to try the soup, a salad, and a dinner, we decided to split each dish which our waiter actually recommended we do as portions are quite large. The lobster bisque was just ok and could have used more sherry. Salad was a nice combination of tomato, artichokes, arugula, and goat's cheese. However, our entree which was supposed to have been a macadamia nut encrusted grouper with rice and asparagus, did not resemble its description. The fish was dry and clearly overcooked, I never saw any nuts on it, and the rice tasted pasty and overcooked as well. We did not eat much of it and told the server who cleared why. The restaurant graciously removed the charge for the fish, but no one really said much about it. Since fish is the specialty here, it was quite disappointing to experience this lack of quality. The restaurant interior was somewhat worn and our leather banquette had tape covering splits in the upholstery, which is more indicative of a diner not a pricey restaurant. We did not stay for dessert. I travel to the Rosemont area frequently for business, and will most likely not return.
Fantastic restaurant. I just would have liked to have been seated where it was a tad less noisy
Great service, Felix and Niko are great.
Nice surprise having the wine list at 50% discount on Saturday evenings. The Nevada Nick's salad is always a go to, as are a dozen raw oysters, usually bluepoints. Seafood risotto was delicious as was the abalone preparation.
The tilapia with crab was good. My husband ordered a steak and sent it back. He said it had zero flavor and cut off a significant amount of fat. The décor is very dated and no fish in the fish tanks. The menu is very limited compared to the Chicago location. Would rather go to an updated more vibrant place such as Ditka's, Mastro's or Ruth's Chris. Very disappointed based on the amount of money you spend.
My fiancé and I went here for the first time recently. We live in the neighborhood and are always looking for local places. We were surprised to find an upscale restaurant in this area. The service was fantastic, the staff was friendly and the servers were knowledgeable and attentive. The pricing is pretty high for this location and for the food itself. I can't give an explain action for the pricing.
All of the appetizers were fantastic. I would recommend this for a date or small group. There are so few upscale restaurants in this area we were definitely glad to find a unique place.
I would recommend Nick's over other local spots like Mortons, Gibsons and Capital Grille. The service here is much better and so is the food.
My wife and I had a seafood dinner after a 4 hour flight before we were driving home from Ohare. the food / drinks were outstanding but the service was top notch!
I went on a business dinner. I suspect almost everyone in the room was dining on expense report. There was nothing wrong with the place. But I do not believe I would go back on my own dime or time.
I visited Nick's Fishmarket in Rosemont for the first time and I loved it! The wait staff was attentive and accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious. It's a bit on the pricey side, but the food is quality and definitely worth it!
The food, service and ambiance make Nick's a great
dining experience.
This is tough. Food was very good, as was service. We spent $150 on a bottle of wine our bill for two of us was $300.
What bothered me was our booth the seat was torn and repaired with duct tape! Really? If I go to a nice restaurant I think the seat cushions should be in good repair. Many folks would say I am too critical. But really? A $300 dinner in duct taped seat cushions.
I was very disappointed with the food. The salmon was nothing special. The Dover sole at $54 was completely bland.
Although the service was accommodating, the overall experience was average at best.
The food was the biggest disappointment
initially, despite being there at 5:30 on valentine's day, they had completely run-out of all their champagnes by the glass; least expensive bottle was $120. Winter storm outside and driver only wanted one glass. Food specials were inadequately explained and prices were difficult to get. Busboy service and desserts were the highlight as main course entres were very non-descript.
Food and service were excellent. Definitely will return and recommend.
This used to be a great place- 10 years ago.
The signs were all there, we arrived on time for our 8pm reservations and were told there would be a wait. As we waited (25 mins) 2 groups left complaining that they'd been seated for over 30 mins with no service.
We were served promptly, but were not told of the specials without asking, and after we ordered, hear our waiter tell the next table different specials (one time being king crab legs, which we were hoping they would have and were disappointed when they 'didn't')
Our dinner was mediocre at best, and the service lacked. Our waiter never even told us his name
We will not be back
Good food and the waiter was great. We had reservations and there were at least three open booths but we were told to wait. Finally after half hour I asked if we can take one of the open booth and the hostess said fine cause she was done waiting for the manager to make a decision.
We had a 7:30 reservation:... seated at 7:45... did not have drink menus until 8:20!!! Appetizers promised to follow 7 minutes later and didn't serve until 1.5 hours later. Awful service this year. Poor management. Several diners shared our experience. How were they not prepared for valentines weekend. Unacceptable:
