Beautiful setting overlooking the grounds of the Fairmount in Maui at sunset. Service was disappointing, our first waiter was uniformed and inept; had to request a reolacement. Food was mediocore; the oysters were small and the taste was overwhelmed by a sauce as was the sea bass.
Food was great as usual. Had the daily fish special. Must have been short staffed as the service was unusually slow all night.

Table service was super. Hostess was rude (2/16 dinner)—needs customer service training. Dinner was good, just not great. Dealing with the hostess left a bad taste in my mouth.
For me this one of my favourite places to dine!!! Seriously amazing next level Food. And we have fine dined all around the world! I highly recommend it. They made us feel special as it was our anniversary.
Absolutely! Thee best place ever! To come and celebrate birthdays with ypur family or just the two of you.. I came here for my son's birthday in January and they were a winner that I had to come back for my Birthday.. thank you Nicks Team! Excellent service, food, quality your food was so delicious ❤
The food and happy hour was great. The value of happy hour is very good. However the service was HORRIBLE. In other the bar and restaurant . Stale, slow, they didn’t cater to the needs of the table, only what worked for the servers themselves. There was one little guy in the bar that was amazing with us and my baby. But he was not our server. If he was i would have given a better review. Overall we will not be back because for what you pay and the location you should be getting a memorable experience. Which it was not.
BUYER BEWARE. My husband and I dined here and had a relatively nice experience. After we left, we looked more closely at our bill and saw we were charged fir a gin drink we did not order. I called the restaurant the next morning and explained the situation and asked that they call us. No call. My husband said not to worry but fir me it’s the principle. Lack of integrity. So if you go, pay close attention to your bill. You just may be buying the next tables $14+ cocktails.
Nick’s is one of our favorite places to dine, however, our last experience for our Valentines dinner was very disappointing.
When we first arrived and checked in, they took patrons who arrived after us and seated them, then they sat us at the very first table at the entrance where we endured incoming patrons checking in. We heard the hostess tell patrons that they are booked and hold their credit cards so obviously why would they not show up? It was a little upsetting to hear that and we were actually treated in that manner because we already gave our credit card for our dinner, the service was bad. Also my entree was so spicy that it was hard to complete and enjoy. It seemed like they didn’t care about servicing their tables and patrons because it was a set menu and it was already covered by our credit card for payment.
We usually always try to go to Nick’s once a year and it was one of our favorite places to dine but we have never experienced it so bad. I would also think that you would want to treat residents with better service too because you could get repeat returns and also we tell so much others of our dining experience.
We dine at a lot of fine dining places and now we are not sure if we would put Nick’s as one of our favorite places to dine. I think even if you were overwhelmed because of a special occasion dining that you still would have treated your patrons better.
