Nick's Fishmarket Maui
Perfection... everything about this place is the best. I love the location and the vibe. It's located inside the beautiful Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea. If you get a chance to go to Nick's you must try the Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi - so incredibly scrumptious!! The service is impeccable and the wine list is great. You will not be disappointed. It's expensive but, in my opinion, worth every penny. My favorite when visiting Maui.
Portions too small for the price ....everything else was perfect
A beautiful quiet evening with outstanding selections for food and beverage. Take your time and enjoy the stunning views and seaside ambiance. Our 5th stay at the Fairmont and at Nicks. Same time next year!
The absolute best place to dine on Maui! Service is unmatched
We had heard about Nick's from local friends, plus read the reviews on Tripdavisor. We had a wonderful dinner, sitting outside facing the pool and ocean beyond. Our waiter was attentive, and very accommodating with my food issues. He made wonderful suggestions, had a great sense of humor, and made the evening very enjoyable. Our dinner was the best we've had in Maui, and we'd already been here several days. It's not inexpensive, but nothing is in Maui, so go ahead and treat yourself!
We dined last minute at Nick’s and enjoyed every moment. Ikaika was fabulous and made our evening enjoyable. We never felt rushed, and as we took our time into the main course and it started to get very warm, he took us into the wine cellar to both cool us off and to show us the extensive wine collection. The food was fantastic. My husband has the smoked salmon and the scallop pork adobo and cleaned his plate. I had the Caesar and the vegetable pasta.,.delicious! Then we were given chilled towels as we finished our wine and considered the dessert menu. We may come back tomorrow as there were plenty of other options we would have loved to have. We only came here due to a cancelled sunset cruise and it turned into our best meal on Maui!! We’ll be back tomorrow night to try the crab cakes. Thank you!!!
Food was amazing as usual
Wonderful experience! I did not feel like I was at a hotel restaurant at all. The service was outstanding, the food was great, and the view and atmosphere top notch!
Didn’t have the experience that we expected from the other reviews. Waiter had zero personality and the description of the entrees on the menu weren’t accurate. Dishes were just okay. Nothing special. Should have had dinner at our hotel next door (Four Seasons).
Great meal. Great service. Get the catch if the day! Delicious!! Nice open concept!
We had a wonderful experience at Nick’s. We had seats right on the edge so we had a spectacular view of the sunset. Our waiter was great, very knowledgeable about all of the entrees. Everyone paid much attention to details. The food was excellent! Loved the soup and the Greek Maui Wowie salad. The entrees has such good flavors and were so fresh. The Panna Cotta for dessert was incredible! During the meal, the house photographer took our picture and had it ready when we were finished eating. Nick’s is a very romantic setting, and it’s just beautiful walking around in the grounds after dinner. Loved it here!
We are in Hawaii to celebrate our baby moon, first baby. Our second time to Maui in the last 2 years. We knew we wanted to go back to Nick’s since they first time was so great. Unfortunately, this time around want so great. We were sat promptly. Our waiter appeared to be newer at his job. He was staring into the sky as he told us about the dinner special trying to remember everything by memory rather than making eye contact. He asked if we were celebrating and shared that yes celebrating our baby moon as I pointed to my 6 month pregnant belly. My husband ordered a cocktail and I requested a mock tail. He said of course and asked what kind. I requested something along the lines with black berries, mint, ginger ale and sweet sour. He brought back our drinks and I took a drink. Much to my displeasure there was actual gin in my drink NOT ginger ale. I passed to my husband just to make sure I wasn’t imagining. He agreed there was gin and no ginger ale. We called the waiter over and he swore the bartender didn’t put any alcohol in. We assured him there was indeed gin in the drink, it’s quite a distinct taste!! Let alone the drink had no carbonation that should be there with ginger ale. He apologized and brought back another that I had my husband taste first. Sure enough that was made correctly this time. The waiter apologized, blamed the bar for being busy and told me I’d be ok it was just a sip. Ending at I’m sorry would have sufficed. No need for him to pretend that he knows all. Appetizer was great black & bleu ahi. Entrees were ok - noodles w/ the lobster were under cooked. Our waiters explanations to the food were way too long and even after we chose something rather than just saying great choice, he would delve into a 30sec to min shpeal. We opted out of dessert as our patience was running thin at this point. They brought us a little congratulatory plate that wasn’t any good. And for icing on the cake he charged me for mocktail that didn’t start as a mocktail!!
The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Staff was very attentive and we received a complimentary dessert for our anniversary.
Our server, Cheston, was awesome. He was very personable, knew the menu very well, and took good care of us. The spinach salad was incredible and the potstickers were the best we’ve ever had. We were treated with an anniversary desert of panna cotta that was amazing as well. All around a great night.
The service was great but sadly the food was very average.
Fresh fish of the day was over cooked and dry and costing $56 each. Waiter was also pushing to order and the place was only one third occupied. Entree came out as we were finishing our appetizer. It is not what it use to be.
Lastly, the waiter tried to recommend a $220 bottle of California Chardonnay. We selected a $68 bottle from California.
It was honestly the best food and service I’ve ever had.
Excellent service and food!
Beautiful setting looking out to sea. Food was above average but definitely not stellar and for the price I would expect more. Service was unpolished but servers were delightful. Young kids living their dream but definitely not experienced. Doesn’t “hold a candle” to places like Duos, Humuhumu nearby but was fun to experience something different.
Cioppino was fantastic, but the Mahi Mahi was a bit bland and dry. Our waiter, Chivas, was wonderful. In fact, all the staff was fantastic and really the heart of the restaurant.
The fish selection was very limited. This is billed as a high end seafood dining experience in an exclusive resort town on Maui.
Expensive and underwhelming menu.
Too Hot in the restaurant in fact a lady at the next table fainted.
Food way over priced
Food was ok. My fish was overdone. They corrected it, but by then my husband had finished his dinner.
There wasn’t a good view of the sunset. Can say we ate here, but will try other locations on our next visit.
Meal and ambience were exceptional. Scallops and pork belly were next level and our waiter Bill was very attentive.
The New York steak is incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food was too heavy for our tastes.
Food was just average but ambiance was nice. The service was very good.
Impeccable...I’ve already recommended it to others....beautiful restaurant with great food and service! From the hostess to our waiter
We ate at nicks one year ago on one honeymoon and it was fantastic. We expected the same when we returned last night, but instead we were completely disappointed. 3 of the 4 meals for our table were over cooked. We all ordered medium or medium rare, and what came out was well done by anyone’s standard. My husband sent his back and it took over 15 minutes to be replaced. My grandmother didn’t send hers back, though the waiter brought her a replacement boxed up for later. My steak was medium on one end, but somehow well done on the other? The chef disappointed. Salads and dessert were great, but for the price of the entree and whole meal I expect much better.
Celebrated my husbands birthday. Great place with patio or open air seating. Wonderful bar to have a drink before dinner. Our waiter Cameron, was great. He was helpful, attentive and just a joy. My husband had the lamb, which was a nice size portion and he said it was amazing. We enjoyed the dinner very much and would highly recommend!
This restaurant was outstanding on all fronts. The service and attention from the waitstaff was perfectly timed and just the right amount. They were all very friendly too. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and each person that came to our table acknowledged it. The food was delicious; we had the sashimi of the evening to start, the beet salad & Greek salad for a second course, for entrees the Mahi Mahi & shrimp scampi, and finally, for dessert the Kona coffee ice cream. The ambiance was beautiful, we only wished we had gotten there before dark to see how beautiful it was at sunset. I’d highly recommend dining at Nick’s if I’m the Wailea area. We look forward to returning!
Fabulous evening. Great food great service beautiful setting!
We had dinner at Nick’s on 9/4. Service and food were spectacular. The only “complaint” was that the bottles of wine were extremely expensive and overpriced. Highly recommend if you would like a special dinner.
Nick’s restaurant was delicious and such a beautiful place to celebrate our engagement. They even brought out a complimentary dessert with “Congratulations” written on the plate!
While most of the food was very good. The service was not good at all and they were very rude about it. For this kind of pricing it was very disappointing.
Great service, food, and ambiance.
The Ahi Tuna was excellent!
Lovely meal to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday. Great setting, food and service
An absolutely amazing evening. The service was exceptional. Blessed with perfect weather we dined outdoors and enjoyed a leisurely meal of delicious local flare. A little pricey but worth every penny for a special occasion. Our new favorite on Maui.
A stunning location and a great place to see the spectacular sunsets, Nick's offers excellent service and fabulous food! I loved the open-air dining, excellent cuisine and the casual elegance that is also perfect for more formal occasions.
