Nick’s Fish Dive
Awesome food and drinks. Super friendly staff also!
They were not honoring their reservations when we arrived. We waited an hour and 15 min for our reserved table and then 45 min for our food! They did comp half our meal for our trouble. So maybe not the place to go on a Cynthia Woods Pavillon concert night.
We went to Nick's Fish Dive the night of a concert at Mitchell Woods Pavillion so expected it to be busy. We made reservations and upon arrival learned that we were being asked to wait 45 minutes. My conjecture is that the seated walk-ins even though they had reserved tables. I spoke with the manager and she got us seated in 20-30 minutes. The crab cakes contained alot of bread and were deep fried. I prefer lots of crab and pan-fried. The clam chowder tasted like crab bisque and had more crab than clam. All in all, I would not recommend Nicks.
I guess Nick’s doesn’t understand how reservations work. My wife and I made 615 reservations before a concert. They were busy which is why we made reservations. Upon entering Nick’s at exactly our reservation time, we told the hostess we had 615 reservations. Her exact words were “ you are gonna be so mad at me”. Then we on saying how they sat anyone who walked in regardless of reservations and told us it was a 45 minute wait for reservations as we walked out the door. I will happy to explain how reservations work if the owner would give me time. I think it would greatly improve the business.
We were there on a busy night and I think our waitress was new, our service was slow and food came out in the wrong order....This was our third time at Nicks and we always enjoy the atmosphere and food.
Food and ambiance was excellent! The happy hour cocktails were almost un-drinkable and our waitress seemed like she could care less about our experience. Our food took almost an hour to come out and she did not apologize or seem to care. I understand they were busy bc of the concert but that’s ridiculous. I’m sure she is not a reflection of all of the staff but her attitude plus the extreme wait on food don’t warrant a repeat visit.
We had Sunday brunch at Nick's. We sat outside on the balcony which was nice. Our waitress was great and the food was excellent. Four of us shared three dishes: crabcakes benedict, shrimp and grits and the chicken and waffles. The amount of food was perfect for four people and all the dishes were delicious.
Love the food here and we come frequently. The oysters are always delicious. But there was a concert at the pavilion this night and parking was at a premium. I asked the hostess if they validated parking. She said yes and then told me where the correct parking garage was. But she told me the wrong one! Ugh!! our server was attentive, but didn't know how to open a bottle of bubbly, and shot the cork across the room. Luckily, it didn't hurt anyone. The noise level was extremely high that night, but it's never a quiet place.
Food is meh. They we woodlanders hate leaving the woodlands and will settle.
Wonderful experience all the way around. Food was great so was service.
Consistent quality and excellent food!! Great service and beautiful interiors. This place is centrally located. I can't wait to return!!
Had a great waitress - very attentive and demonstrated that she really cared. Made our mother’s day celebration very special . Thank you!!
This was our first time to eat here and it did not disappoint! We had the Dirty Dozen for an appetizer; awesome! My husband had the Red-fish and I had the Seafood Gumbo; both were delicious! Our server was very attentive as well! Overall, we highly recommend Nick's Fish Dive and Oyster Bar!
Awesome restaurant on the waterway! Everything was prepared perfectly. The crab cake appetizer was delicious only to be outdone by the redfish and crawfish risotto. Service was perfect! A great evening.
Awesome food and service. Went for a business lunch and the noise level was great, was able to carry an easy conversation. Will be returning
Food was soooo good. Our server was "Johnny on the spot." It seemed like could read our minds. Will definitely return.
Had the BEST tuna poke tower here! My dad had the fries basket and loved it. My mom had the fish tacos and also loved it. Patio was lovely with views of the waterway and service was great. My only complaint is that you can only get sauv blanc by the bottle. Huge deal breaker for me. Great spot though!
In Houston for a concert at The Pavilion and had dinner here. It was delicious. I had the salmon and wine. Lovely night.
Great appetisers and Fresh Oysters. Attentive service. Balcony seating. Very social setting.
Food and service were terrific. The fried shrimp & fish were super crispy & hot. We will be back!
It was very romantic. The view of the waterway was outstanding. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Our waitress was very friendly and saw to our every need. The food was outstanding all of their recommendations were appreciated. The recommendations by our waitress was perfect. My husband and I had a wonderful evening and plan to return often. I want to say thank you to everyone.
Our server was very friendly. The food was not very good and was over priced. Very disappointing
Love the place and the food but service could certainly use some improvement.
Wasn’t crowded, but still had very poor service. Soup Luke warm. Wouldn’t recommend when there are so many options in The Woodlands.
Unless you want really good gulf oyster, stay away from this place! Service was literally the worst I’ve ever experienced. The waiter kept spilling drinks, was not attentive, and forgot things. Other than the oysters (which I have to give them credit ,were awesome), the rest of the meal sucked! Was looking for good seafood restaurant in the area, this isn’t it!
Nick's is great. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the ambient noise. I get it. This is not a fine dining establishment. Certainly, I realize there is always a chance of drunk girls who are absolutely convinced their razor sharp political analysis and/or commentary on the current status of young female professionals trying to make it in the world is titillatingly interesting enough to warrant (literally) shouting over all the other noise so all patrons can benefit from their thoughts…..but, we were fortunate to have TWO tables of such pundits around us. But, that notwithstanding, the service, drinks, food and basketball game on the TV were great. And, at the risk of showing my age, the chairs were VERY comfortable. That might not seem like such a big deal, but, my wife and I eat out a great deal and, being a true Bohemian, and all that implies, I assure you, comfortable seating is a big plus! My wife and I highly recommend Nick’s Fish Dive. The oysters were fresh and cold and we will definitely be returning for more.
We had three different dishes: redfish, barramundi and salmon - all cooked well and very tasty. The Blue Point oysters were very good, but probably not worth $3 each. Very good service from our waitress. All in all, a very good dining experience.
Best oyster bar in the area! And their other seafood is excellent as well.
Nicks is a great place for oysters and other seafood. And the setting on The Woodlands Waterway is super. There was a concert going on at Waterway Square fountains which was an added treat to the experience. Little neck mussels was excellent as was the cocunut shrimp. Service was quick and correct but she was a little aloof.
Still worth the excellent dining experience.
This was a pleasant experience for Valentines Day. The oysters were excellent and the main course fish was tasty but not served as hot as I would expect. The Nick's Old Fashioned cocktail was wonderful.
Restaurant seamed unprepared for Valentine's day. The appetizer was good, both entrees were bland, the duck was poorly cooked, both entrees were barely warm. The desert was awful, could tell it had been sitting. The cocktail was not up to par for it being $14. Over all, $100+ dinner for 2 wasn't worth $25. Will not return.
Really wanted to love this place. The location is great, overlooking the waterway in The Woodlands. The ambience is really nice, and my wife and I tried it for Valentine’s Day. Our server was friendly and very accommodating. The drinks were good. The service was stellar. The food presentation was well done. The problem was the actual food. I ordered the pasta Del Mar, one of the most expensive menu items. There was so much lime that I could literally not taste anything else. My wife ordered the Lobster roll. Again, over seasoned with old bay to the point that the lobster disappeared. Very disappointed for the price.
Birthday dinner. Great visit. Everybody loved their meals. Not huge portions, just the right amount though!
If you haven't eaten at Nick's Fish Dive, you should definitely plan a meal there soon. The Saturday Brunch menu was great.
Service was excellent...food average....value was not sufficient to warrant eating there again. Dirty dozen was good, crab cake average and chicken was dry. Salmon barramundi were good though.
Nikki and Sergio are great always attention to detail and every call to your beckin needs
Our fav place!
My wife and I enjoyed a Friday night date at Nicks. The service was great, the wait staff was very attentive. Our entrees were well prepared, delicious, and a good value. If you are wanting to enjoy great seafood - you need to experience Nicks.
Great cervieche and oysters. We loved it
We’ve LOVED Nick’s since it opened. This visit was a totally different restaurant. The food quality was not the same, the menu was way different, things on the menu came out different than they were described, and there were hardly any people dining there. Its normally bustling on a Saturday night. It’s obvious that there have been some changes at Nick’s and not for the better. We’re heartbroken. We really enjoyed it many times, taking guests with us on occasion and recommending it to others. We can’t do that anymore. So sad.
