Went there for Mother’s Day brunch. The patio set up was great. The service was rather slow, food did not come out hot either. It tasted good, but not very good. I will definitely return, but only for cocktails and the patio experience. Mimosas were ok.
The wings were great! However, my drink was watered down and definitely not worth $10.
Service was so great! Server was super attentive and the food was delicious! Super affordable - Friday is ladies night and everything is half off or on special!
The service, wine and food were great. We will be back.
Service a little slow at first waited 15 min but then was serviced often , mimosas great, food good
I would visit again
We went in for brunch recently while traveling and felt the food was amazing. Unique twist doing funnel cake and chicken instead of the typical chicken and waffles. I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was full of porky goodness and flavor. Must try the sausage patties and potatoes both well worth it.
We loved the ambiance of Nickel and Rye, since we were looking for a relaxing evening. We ordered three appetizers to share and the amount of food was more than enough. We took almost half of our meal back to our hotel and loved the food. The service was great and very enjoyable.
When I arrived, I was told that it was opening seating although I made a reservation. I was seated at the end of a table that was already occupied by 3 other people. I believe that if you are taking reservations that they should be honored and that it should not be open seating especially if the weather is not adequate enough for the customers to use the outside seating and that causes limited seats.
The sound of the TVs were TERRIBLY TERRIBLY loud. I couldn’t even hear the person sitting right next to me. The manager wouldn’t lower the sound because he couldn’t hear the game. Real nice. Not professional or accommodating. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone or visit again.
Just a cool Uptown spot. Not pretentious. Cool employees. Good service. Good date spot too. Park your electric scooter out back.
We had a good brunch. Some of the furniture could use some updating.
I made a reservation for the Michigan game/a birthday and I even updated it in the morning to be less people with someone on the phone and they were like “thanks for letting us know” when I got there they said they don’t do reservations on game days and I should just sit anywhere. In my open table reservation I put that it was someone’s bday and I was like well do you do anything for bdays, and they were like “no not really”. The burgers are awful. Fried pickles are really good and our waitress was sweet. Just overvalued a super meh experience. Doesn’t seem to be run by super experienced people.
It was freezing outside but they wouldn’t close the door
Love this place. It’s out brunch go to.
Made an OpenTable reservation only to show up to the restaurant being open seating, and full. Quite disappointing, but we were able to get a table eventually. Service was abysmal - we were there for almost 2 hours and saw our server maybe 5 times. Good hangout spot, but wouldn't go again for a meal.
I had heard a lot about this restaurant so I definitely want to try it but I was somewhat disappointed. The server was really nice and helpful and recommended their best dish wish was the funnel cake and fried chicken and I was really disappointed with how the food tasted. It was below what I expected. I also asked for a strawberry lemonade and got a drink that tasted nothing like a strawberry lemonade. The ambiance is nice and it is a lively spot to hang out with friends.
Had an amazing time at nickel & rye with my date. Staff is friendly and conversational. Food was amazing! Sangria was also delicious! Would highly recommend as a place to head out and enjoy after work or for a date night.
The venue was great for a brunch and the service was awesome. The large pitchers of mimosas are great. We came when the live music was starting which was really loud and we couldn't really hear one another so we will probably avoid that in the future. Other than that one issue the venue is definitely a great spot to go for a fun brunch with friends.
Cool place to chill, drink some brew, and eat some chicken!
Love this place! I had the crab benedict for brunch and it was delicious. Great price on their mimosas too. I've also been here just for drinks and loved it as well. Awesome staff and live music on Sundays!
This was my first visit, but won't be my last. The ambiance was very casual and warm. And the crab benny didn't disappoint the palate!
Went for brunch. Drinks, food and music were all great. Perfect for a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
Only complaint I have is the table they sat us at out side. the countertop hang was not wide enough and I'm 5'1 the shortest one in the group and I hit my knee 3 times just trying to get seated. Other than that food, atmosphere was great.
Service was exceptional. Atmosphere and good were outstanding.
Our Server for Easter brunch was what made our visit. The food was also great. However, the loud blaring unedited rap music was not what I anticipated to listen to with my 7 and 5 year old for Easter brunch. Again, however, we didn't complain Bc we brought kids to a bar. Our server was aware enough to try to skip songs every time she noticed.
Love this place! Great drinks and fun atmosphere
Dominique, our server, was Great! Great deal on mimosas too.
We had a great time getting together with friends we hadn't seen in a while. Had wonderful service, great food & awesome drinks! Happy hour is amazing!
It was good but the next day we noticed the waitress charged us more than what our bill was for.
Nothing about this place was good. Have other reviewers been here lately? First issue was we parked in a mostly empty parking lot behind the place and after we were out of the car some valet guy runs up and says its $5 to park. That was a joke and a ripoff. Half of the place we were told is closed (maybe because we went late on a Sun afternoon?) but expected better in every way. Had two just OK drinks (with less than OK service) and left.
Inside noise level was over the top. Not a great selection for a more intimate discussion.
Great food and service. Fun relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended!
We had the chicken and funnel. cake. The chicken was outstanding. I wish the funnel cake had been a little crispier.
Amazing food and service with unique menu choices. Highly recommended!
Food was delicious and staff very friendly and accommodating.
Great time! Can’t wait to go back! My friends loved that i picked this place for Brunch! Food was also good! Anddd they had the Saints game on! Also the live band was on point! Atmosphere was great! Mixed crowd!
Made a reservation but did not need one for this empty bar with food. Server was attentive for the first round of drinks and then my coworkers had to order from the bar the remainder of our visit. Advertising for live music at 7:00 brought us together but the singer didn't begin setting up until after 8 and starting singing by 9:00. Music was really good once it began, appetizers we're great too. Just more of a laid back bar scene and not business outing reservation style.
Go to Nickel and Rye for the craft cocktails, whiskey list, Scotch list, and beer. Has one of the better Scotch lists in Dallas. Less impressed with dinner menu, although the brunch menu sounded more interesting. LIkes: dog friendly patio (with puppy menu), people watching spot overlooking McKinney Ave, great waitstaff, vibrant crowd.
We came around 6:30 to catch happy hour and their Wednesday night specials. Fantastic prices for delicious drinks and food. The only downside was the length of time it took to get our drinks, we sometimes waited 20 minutes for a glass of wine or a cocktail... unacceptable.
Great food and atomsphere!
