Nick Ryan's Saloon
We know you want your dining experience to include great food and a warm atmosphere with good friends. Whether it’s a casual lunch, hand-crafted cocktails, dinner with friends, or a special occasion, make Nick Ryan’s your next dining destination!
Try Nick Ryan's famous burger, Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad, Salmon with Jasmine Rice and fresh vegetables for lunch. Dinner entrées include Blackened Mahi-Mahi, Chicken Roulade, Shrimp & Grits, Filet and many more. Nick Ryan's also offers fun items like an open-faced sandwich known as the "Hot Brown," a signature Kentucky dish stacked high with turkey, ham and bacon and drenched in Mornay sauce. If you find yourself feeling extra indulgent, you can finish your meal off with a decadent dessert martini.
This was a very disappointing trip to Nick Ryans. After being seated on the patio we waited 25 minutes just to get a water and a server. The sever was apologetic, however she seemed somewhat overworked. We were bothered by flies during the whole time. Ordered bourbon and ginger ale, but I think they forgot the ginger ale, it was so strong it may as well have been neat. I had the pork chop, which was excellent, served with grits which were also delicious and grilled asparagus which consisted of 3 small asparagus spears. My husband ordered shrimp and grits which was mostly chopped andouille sausage with an after thought of 4 shrimp but again those delicious grits. I will say that the bar was closed for a private party, but I don't think management had made the appropriate staffing decision for a Saturday night. This was our 3rd trip, not sure if we will go back.
First time visit - great service and food. Blackened Mahi - delicious!
We've been to Nick Ryan's Saloon many, many times and we always get consistently great service, great food and an overall nice dining experience. I would recommend Nick Ryan's to anyone.
Great experience! Very hospitable, beautiful location, great food!
we were celebrating our Wedding anniversary. Our server was very good. She knew when to be at our table. The food selection was good and the food was great.
Great tasting food. Very accommodating waitress for requested changes to our food orders. Great overall experience
GREAT food! Fried chicken was delicious and my wife's pasta was just as good. We will definitely be back!
The shrimp and grits never disappoints. if you sit in the bar try to be close to windows it can get noisy.
This is a great restaurant. Comfortable, good food and terrific service. Due yourself a favor and head to Jefferson Street for lunch or dinner at Nick Ryan’s!
Excellent food! Great value! Wonderful service! We’ll be back!
Awesome service from our waiter, Drew. Delicious cocktails, but the pork chop and crab cake were only fair.
Good food, good service and customer friendly prices. Worth a trip.
Great food and atmosphere.
2nd time here and as mother great experience. Good food, great service with reasonable prices. Fun time had by all !!!
Wonderful local spot with wonderful food and service that could not have been better !!!
Always great food and service
There was a wedding which dominated and diverted. Our service was good but the noise was
loud enough to prohibit conversation and my entree was simply horrible. I tried a small bite
and then threw it away. a Bun, two onion rings and a fried chicken patty with Velveeta melted
on it and then covered is some variety of barbeque sauce!
Great apps and entrees. Specials very good. Patio layout quite nice. Will certainly be back.
Nick Ryan’s is starting to feel dated, the food is decent but nothing to write home about. The prices are fair, and the service is really good. The restaurant has been in the area for a long time, and is fairly close to my home, to be honest it’s usually the 3rd or 4th option in our last minute dinner list when other area restaurants are overbooked.
Great day for my wife’s birthday. The only thing that could have been better, maybe give birthday person a dessert.
Service was slow but everything else was perfect. Great girl’s lunch
Allan, our server was the best! Great service and recommendation for food and drinks. It was our first visit but won’t be our last.
Bill and Kathy
Excellent food and great service!
As always good comfort food well prepared, great service and enjoyable atmosphere. You have to try the corn fritters and fried chicken.
Our meals were wonderful and the service was great. The only issue was, as we were seated on the patio, smokers had gone out the front door to smoke and it was blowing right toward the patio area. Not enjoyable to smell smoke while dining. Also, the street is very close and there seem to be a lot of fire trucks going by.
We sat outside which was perfect. our server was very friendly & went out of his way tho help with my special dietary needs.
We’re from Alabama & had eaten with you several years ago. We enjoyed it so much then, we wanted to come back. You did not disappoint.
Becca is an amazing server and the food is delicious! It was my first time dining at Nick Ryan’s, I will definitely be back again.
food and service was great! the steak was as good as any in town for a lot better value. wish you had a dedicated parking lot as spaces where in shotr supply with the concert.
We were told by the Hostess she didnt see the reservation. I showed the confirmation on my phone and we were seated!
Overall very good food and atmosphere on patio. Probably just the night but we were beginning to look around for someone to sit us bc no one around. Waited for waiter who then decided to chit chat, beyond necessary pleasantries, with another table. We were not in a hurry but even slow for leisurely dinner. Well still go back. Very good food.
Food is awesome and there’s a good mix of casual/comfort food as well as a more upscale options. Staff is always friendly. Patio is great. Onions rings are extra crispy, Mac n cheese is extra cheesy, and drinks are extra yummy.
Our waitress was exceptional and made great recommendations. Cocktails were well done. Try the Ginger Pearadise martini. Pork chop is excellent as well as shrimp and grits. A great place for adult family party.
Very noisy, food was ok (average), price a bit high.
Patterson's (Tyler was what we mistakenly named him) service was spot on! He was pleasant and had great recommendations!
Very good service. Food was tasty. We were seated next to the exterior doors/windows snd it was a bit chilly.
We had eaten there a few years ago, and it was mediocre to bad, with not great service, but it has really improved. We were quite surprised and delighted by how much better is is. We will definitely be back!
We were seated At the edge of the room by the door. It was drafty and in traffic. I was bumped by waitstaff twice. Our waiter was fine. The food was ok. This was our second time. The first 2 years ago was a much better experience. Also the table was so sticky that your silverware stuck to it. Other than that.....
Terrible service. Seemed incredibly understaffed and poorly trained servers. Food was ok but couldn’t make up for the service.
There were 4 of us, from different states, in Lexington for a business trip. We had received a book called "Beyond Grits" from one of our clients. Since the weather was so good, we wanted a venue with outdoor seating and Nicks was our choice. Perfect! We'll pass the information along to our colleagues as a place to give a try when they're in Lexington.
