Nick & Sam's Steakhouse
USA Today says “well-done”, ZAGAT “very good to excellent” and a 2008 recipient of the Five Diamond Star Award.
What an incredible experience. Our waiter, Joel, truly went above and beyond to make sure we had the absolute best dinner, best service, best value, best everything!! I am literally counting down for our next visit.
Only downside was the wait time. I had an 8:30 reservation and we were not seated until 9 pm. It was a business meal, so it was a little embarrassing when we had to wait 30 minutes for a table, with a reservation.
Joel and his incredible service, and the amazingness of the food made the wait totally worth it.
Outstanding service by our server Tech ,
Food was excellent and service was great!
mediocre food and service but cool vibe and ambiance
The food was awesome as usual and it was my guests first time dining there so our server Arturo really went above and beyond to make us feel special. We sat close to the kitchen and got to see all the action it was a fantastic.
The service and food were wonderful. Definitely worth every dollar!
Server was horrible!!! He made my birthday dinner into a disaster!!! The restaurant itself is good. My first ever bad experience there.
Its definitely one of the best stake houses in dallas. Good for large groups. Stakes are excellent but pricey. service is very good. they can improve the wait time for seating. deserts are great. Wine selection is good.
Absolutely incredible dining experience at N&S's. Everything was A-1!
We have been here several times for special occassions. This last time was a real disappointment. The server makes a huge difference and ours this time was aloof, uninterested, and at times, rude. We were a group of 9 adults with 2 teens celebrating a 17th birthday. We were seated in the main dining room at the back of the room, and the tables were so close together that the waitstaff had trouble getting between them to reach the guests. It was pretty cramped. Our server went through the motions but added nothing to the experience. Everything was well timed between courses, but when serving the main course they set down an extra steak, so we knew at that point all the steaks were suspect, and indeed mine was almost well done when I had ordered medium rare... we all switched our steaks around until people had at least close to what they ordered. At the end of the meal our server was MIA for a full 17 minutes. We would have just gotten a check and left, but we were there for a birthday and wanted the celebration cake and cotton candy for her. When he finally showed back up I started to tell him our order and he cut me off and said, "let me guess, celebration cake and cotton candy. That's all anyone orders here." I told him yes that's right and that's why we come there, it's the only place we even eat cotton candy because of the fun, celebratory presentation. He was not impressed. He also never brought out caviar at the beginning of the meal and that's the other reason I ever go there. I remember the time before this time also we practically had to beg for it. Your staff needs to bring that out automatically or at LEAST ask if the guests want it. When spending over $1000 for a meal, these little details make all the difference. I am afraid this is our last time out there, the way we were treated on top of the other issues left a sour taste in our mouths.
Disappointing. Have heard such great things about this place. Pappas brothers is way better for steak quality and ambiance. This place is only good for the instagram pics
Great service at this high energy fine dinning steakhouse.
Great time, great food, great service.
Absolutely superb dining experience for all 10 of us. Food, service, atmosphere, everything was simply amazing. Steaks, seafood, appetizers and sides were spectacular Desserts were very special too. AND Benny saw to our every need and was a fabulous server!
The people were lovely. The food had outstanding flavor but it is so dark in there that the very creative dishes could not be seen. Every person is carrying a flashlight, like crime scene investigators. Seriously. Just turn up the lights just a little. I promise it won’t change the mood. Also, I would never tell anyone to go there with people they wanted to have a conversation with. It’s a shouting match at every table. These are honest opinions that I wish someone had shared with us. That all being said, We truly loved every person that we came in contact with. Outstanding service is very rare these days. Would we return? Maybe... very early before the crowd.
Birthday, meal was good atmosphere was nice
Sarah our server was awesome. Food was excellent. Complimentary caviar.
Thank you Bryan fir the warm welcome and Alex for the superior service!
Food was good but the “dinner presentation” was a bit overwhelming. The sides were average but main course was good.
GREAT food—OUTSTANDING service
We choose Nick & Sam’s for my 70 birthday celebration. We were not disappointed. The ambiance was wonderful and the food was amazing. Nick & Sam’s is my favorite fine dining restaurant!
My wife and I always go here for special occasions. The staff makes us feel welcome and comfortable. I really like the professionalism, in particular. The staff is obviously trained very well. Those Japanese steaks are unbelievable, too. I wish I could afford to eat a $200 steak on a regular basis, because I’d be there all the time.
Phenomenal service and food. Steak was cooked to the exact temperature. Highly recommend the "Snow Beef" Wagyu!
Awesome service. Food was great, best cooked steak I’ve had in Dallas. Because of the service alone, it’s probably my favorite upscale steakhouse in Dallas.
Daughters 21st birthday
This is absolutely our favorite place for steak! We love everything about Nick & Sam's.
Great experience for NYE. We didn’t get seated until about 15 minutes after our reservation time, but we had such a great time!
We had to wait over an hour for our table - and we had a reservation! The food and service were great as usual but waiting 70 minutes to sit down (especially when it’s a nice place where you spend $400) is just poor planning on the restaurant’s part.
We’ve dined many times at the Preston hollow location. Last evening we took family and friends to the downtown location and it was horrid. One of the worst experiences we have had.
Our party of four showed up right on time for our 8:30 p.m. New Year’s Eve reservation and were immediately taken to our table. How awesome is that? A restaurant that actually knows what a reservation is!!! Food and service was excellent. Thanks for a great evening Nick & Sam’s.
Went for NYE and it was delicious! Steak was cooked perfectly! The result just 3 cheese Mac and cheese wasn’t anything to write home about but the king pao lobster roll was AMAZING!!!
New Years Eve dinner with glam atmosphere with balloons and confetti. Food was very good and service was overall very good. Only issues were that my son ordered mushroom and onion for steak topping and received only onions and we ordered au gratin potatoes but received mashed. Thought the problem was resolved when they told us to enjoy the mashed and also brought the au gratin, until we realized they had charged for both. Did end the evening with the cotton candy desert which was a fun experience with lights and sparklers.
This place is so nice. Definitely going back for special occasions.
Food was not worth the price tag
Our party wasn’t sat until an hour after our reservation. Hosting staff had lots of attitude. Apparently they didn’t want to be working that night and it showed. I asked someone how much longer for our table and received a heavy sigh and an I don’t know walk off. If I wanted that kind of attitude a could have dinner with my kids for free. Oh and I practically had to beg one of the girls up front to take my coat. You can get a good dining experience with less attitude at any of the other 10 nice steaks houses in town.
Everything was great about the restaurant from the waiter, and food, and live music. Great for people watching, and you can tell they care about your service and making sure to make your experience worth while. Only complaint was the wait. We had a reservation at 7:30 and were not seated until 8:00. Otherwise the experience was exceptional.
Went to celebrate my birthday Food and our waiter Shawn were both amazing
Not for us. Super crowded. Loud. People bumping into you all through dinner. Wine pricing has stratospheric markup. Perhaps highest I have seen.
Not great service but wonderful food
