Nick & Sam's Steakhouse
USA Today says “well-done”, ZAGAT “very good to excellent” and a 2008 recipient of the Five Diamond Star Award.
My daughter chose Nick and Sam's for her high school graduation dinner. Our waiter was very pleasant and helpful, but otherwise the evening was an expensive disappointment. The dining room is so crowded with tables that my back and the back of the man behind me at the next table were essentially touching . The room is so dark that even my 18 year old daughter couldn't read the menu without light from her phone. Likewise the noise level is so high that it is difficult to have conversation with the people at your own table. Although our server was very nice, everything took forever to come. The food was honestly nothing special - Chamberlain's is better. I know several steak houses in town are completely a la carte like Nick and Sam's, but $58 (including tax and tip) for a plate with absolutely nothing on it but a 10 oz filet is too much. Likewise $9 for a few spears of undercooked, flavorless asparagus. Everything was too salty, the lobster mac and cheese tasted very fishy. My daughter did love the light up cotton candy dessert, but overall there was nothing about the meal that would make me come back or send a friend there. We came with high expectations, knowing it was going to be an expensive meal, and wouldn't have minded if we felt the experience and the food justified the cost.
Great Experience, the service was first rate, the Rock Shrimp Appetizer was imaginative and bursting with flavor! My wife and I both had filets that were cooked to perfection(medium rare) soo good!
Steak was perfectly cooked - the seasoning could have been better. Brussel sprouts were incredible. Also the celebration cake (rainbow cake with cotton candy and ice cream) is a must! My only complaint with the restaurant is that I went with a friend of mine and we asked for separate checks. Instead of actually bringing us separate checks, they took our cards, scanned them in a device at the table side and never gave us a receipt. I thought the amount I paid was expensive (my friend had ordered an extra drink and a more expensive steak). Eventually I figured out that they just split the check down the middle instead of allowing my friend and I to pay for our respective meals. Not sure why that was automatically assumed. Other than that it was a pleasant dining experience.
Birthday dinner. PHENOMENAL service and food!
Too loud if you want to carry on a conversation, but the service was incredible
Great food and great service. It was very crowded and a little noisy so definitely not a romantic dinner place on a Thursday evening unless you don’t want to talk to your date, but just stare into his/her eyes and enjoy incredible food and drink.
Food was over priced and the quality not so good. 3 of us who had oysters also got sick. Lobster Mac and cheese was tasteless and barely any lobster. Sole was terrible and very small for 33.00. Steaks and wedge salad only thing worth while. Wine prices are also too high. Much better places in town like Chamberlain's and Del Frisco's, capital grill...
Best Mother’s Day Ever with my 2 wonderful children! Nick and Sam’s made not only Mother’s Day special for me but my Daughter’s big test day special as well by bringing out yummy home made cookies. Thank You to the amazing Managers!
Made a reservation for a special Mother’s Day that turned out to be anything but. Had no idea when I made the reservation that it was a Mother’s Day Brunch but I will own not verifying what type of service would be available. The always dependable Nick and Sams was a great disappointment on this day. $100 per plate for banquet quality buffet food which is not an exaggeration. An overall horrible experience and if it wasn’t for our history with N&S we would never be returning. The quality of food, egregious price per person and they had the nerve to seat us and several other families at fold out tables in literally the back corner of the bar. So disappointed in N&S and a horrible Mother’s Day experience for our family on what should have been a very special day
Wait staff could’ve been more attentive to drink refills and taking away dirty plates. It was overwhelming at times with the wait staff almost running me over whenever returning from the buffet. We didn’t have any designated waiter or bus boy, so I think the staff wasn’t sure which customers to help. Overall, it was super fun and my kids loved it, so I was a happy mamma! Thank you!
Mother’s Day Brunch was a great experience for both adults and our kids.
Great fun, always enjoy the food and atmosphere. Best steak in town.
I went for my birthday and they put us at a table right next to a server entrance crowded in the back. The waiter showed us the steak presentation before even asking for our drink order, and our entrees arrived as we were still eating our appetizers. I had to hold my appetizer plate so the waiter could put my steak down. Used to love the professional atmosphere but I won’t be going back due to this disappointing experience.
We really love this place! The only problem was we were seated right outside the restrooms and the odor was pretty overwhelming at times, which wasn't great for the appetite. Ended up bringing food home. They need to put a door in or re-route patrons another way.
It was very noisy at the bar! Seemed like a club type. Luckily we got seated in the back but it has hard to get a drink while waiting for our reservation to be ready (30-45mins)
Birthday celebration. It was great!!
Great atmosphere and awesome food.
First time visit for a birthday celebration and everything was extraordinary. From our knowledgeable and attentive wait staff to the fabulous food. Definitely a must go when in Dallas area.
The food was fantastic. We had calamari and all decided it was the best we have ever had. I loved the warm crab sushi roll and the burratti salad. My friends shared a bone in rib eye. I blinked and it was gone. So I think Ed they liked it. The staff is great Stephen was our waiter and I would definitely recommend him
Great meal and great staff. The power did go out towards the end of the meal so it got a little hot and smokey in the dining room. It would have been nice to get a complimentary dessert or a small discount for the inconvenience but I will definitely be back in the future.
Too loud. We were celebrating our anniversary and felt it was not quite what we wanted. We wanted more of a romantic evening.
Fantastic place, I will definitely be back. Mika was outstanding:)
The team was great, the food even better. In a word, phenomenal
This was our first trip to Dallas and based on reviews we chose Nick and Sams. Despite having a reservation we still had to wait 45 minutes. However once we were seated the service and food were amazing. Remember to save room for dessert... absolutely to die for!!
Joel and the team performed a PERFECT service. World class honestly... The steaks were in the top 10 but not my top 5 (this is a compliment).. Great meal all around.
Went for birthday and anniversary dinner. Seated 20 minutes after reservation. From a food persoective, it’s never good when wine and the side are the hero. Steak was underwhelming. We eat out frequently, but will not be back to Nick & Sam’s. Prefer Del Frisco’s or Al Biernat’s. Overall, BIG disappointment on what was supposed to be a very special night!
Never disappoints, I’ll tell you that. Our waiter was so knowledgeable and lovely. Always a treat coming back here
Everything about the evening was great!
The service is next to none! They went above and beyond to make sure my wife felt special on her Birthday. I was pointed in the direction of a particular cut of steak, when asked how it was I stated "It's okay but I think I would have liked the ribeye more" without hesitation he said then a ribeye you should have and swapped it out quickly for me. Love going here!
Nick & Sam's ranks for me as one of if not the best Steakhouse I've ever been to. And I have been to ALOT in some of the best places in the world. Excellent experience!
Birthday! Everything was amazing ~ really delicious food. Delicious appetizers and drinks. They know how to make a Birthday feel extra special
You can’t ever go wrong eating at Nick and Sams. What a excellent restaurant. Pricey but worth every single dollar. Will be back.
Lovely ambiance , amazing food
I have been several times to Nick and Sams and never had a complaint. We went Saturday for my wife’s birthday on a 830 reservation. We waited over 30 minutes for several people to walk in and be seated right away and when we got sat it was in some small room in the back corner next to the kitchen. We ordered the Dirk at my wife’a request and it was amazing. I say amazing because 240$ for a steak better have an amazing taste. Now I understand why they have MP on the menu because at that price no one would Order that option when you can get a better cut of meat for 70$ with the bone in fillet. After 2-1/2 hours of waiting on food and waiting on our server... we asked for the bread pudding which is the only reason we came and they had ran out. Surprise Surprise they ran out after 2-1/2 hours of keeping us there for the only thing we wanted wasn’t on the menu. Will never refer or visit Nick and Sams again. After traveling to many Steak houses... Mastros please come to Dallas to show these people how class is presented with value.
Nick & Sam's was great for a birthday / bachelorette celebration! The table had confetti and the manager brought us a glass of champagne as we arrived, which was a very nice gesture and very much appreciated! Broccoli app. was amazing, filet was cooked perfectly, sushi roll was great with a lemon sauce, was not impressed with the lobster mac (WAY too salty, table agreed, & not very much lobster), the brussels sprouts were okay. The service was outstanding! Would definitely re-visit!
Great anniversary dinner.
Food was awesome and the service was great it was not as expensive as I heard it would be either
Food at atmosphere are amazing!
