Nick & Sam's Park Cities Ratings and Reviews
Sides are amazing. All steaks in our party were tasteless and fatty. Value was not worth it for the price and the quality. Have had better steaks at Texas Roadhouse. Made reservations with comments about a birthday that we were celebrating. None of the staff even mentioned it. Second time to give it a try, but won’t be coming back any time soon.
I received a gift certificate for Christmas but they refused to honor it. They said it was only good for the uptown location even though it said NOTHING about it on the certificate. The filet mignon were ok, but difficult to cut with a steak knife. I won’t be eating here again. Better to go to Del Frisco or any other decent steak house.
We were completely disappointed upon arriving at Nick and Sam's with Christmas Dinner reservations to be seating in a very bright room with cartoons on the TV's and kids screaming. Additionally there was a dressed Santa Claus playing a saxophone very loudly. The hostess agreed to relocate us to a different table in the main dining room and the manager brought an appetizer complimentary while we waited. Once seated, we ordered which was a challenge as there were as many children in this area all talking very loudly and then to our dismay the Saxaphone Santa came in and created more loud disrupting noise. The ambiance was utter chaos which is not what we desired for an expensive dinner on Christmas Eve. Additionally there were no hand towels in the ladies restroom because of children running in and out and using everything. Ugh, we all had headaches by the end of this meal. To make matters worse, we ordered a to go sandwich for our daughter who was flying in at midnight and discovered the French fries were left out of the package. While the food was excellent and the staff very kind and accommodating, the uncontrolled environment ruined the evening. This was not an experience we will repeat.
Wait staff was inept. Mumbled thru specials. Brought wrong food and never corrected the order. Food had obviously been prepared far n advance and was served over cooked and cold. Had to ask 4 times for a simple bowl of vanilla ice cream! Will not return to nick and Sam’s.
Severely disappointed in the quality of food and the level of management in handling the quality of food they serve. From a culinary stand point "who serves cotton candy on tuna tartar!?" Steaks were low quality and sides no flavor. Definite reason they put salt and pepper on tables. My husbands steak looked like boiled in water and then when we complained the flipped it and sent it back out. This place is a definite enjoyment for who think name brand is quality! Hillstone wait was too extreme so thought we would try but terribly disappointing and wishing we would have waited for a higher quality establishment.
It seems like lunch is an afterthought here. Pretty sure the burger was a pre-made patty and the salad and other entrees looked similar to what you find in a cafeteria. Seems other people share my sentiment since there were about 15 people eating during prime time lunch.
It had been a couple of years since we dined at Nick & Sam's PC because the restaurant seemed to be overpriced at that time. Thus, we decided to give it another chance mainly because of the location in the middle of the University Park area. I should have been warned by the fact that at 7:30 on a Saturday night that the restaurant was fairly empty, and the impressions from years past remains today. Ultimately overpriced means that the juice was not worth the squeeze, and not a specific price point. That is that the food was priced to be excellent, but was marginal at best. My spinach side dish was completely flavorless, which came with the lamb special. The lamb was cooked appropriately, but the mint sauce was so sweet and minty that it was not useable. The redfish entrée was not good either and the sides were not memorable. The only notable positive was the fact that the salads were good before dinner and a 1/2 salad is ample for one person before the entrée.
Ask to be seated in the main dining room otherwise you get stuck in the bar area with bright flat screen TVs blinding you. The place was almost empty and we still got stuck in the bar area. If I want to pay $80 for a bone in filet, I do not want to feel like I am in a sports bar, people.
We love Nick and Sams Steakhouse. This was the first time at N&S Grill. It did not disappoint. Our group are all "Foodies" and we even had two executive chefs. Everyone raved about the food, presentation, etc. Pizzas were great. Cocktails were even better. We closed the place down. The staff was awesome. We will definitely return many times.
Food was good as always, service was awful, our waitress had a big party in another room and rarely came around - told us delay was because they were ahead of us - we gave advance notice we were celebrating big birthday - finally gave up trying to get an acknowledgement - flagged down someone to take our order after apps had been gone for 15 min, flagged some down to pay after credit card out for 15 min, manager was not around either
I was extremely disappointed in our experience with Sunday brunch at Nick & Sam's. I had been looking forward to an elegant and tasty brunch and selected Nick & Sam's after reviewing their menu on line and determining that they had a nice variety of choices. When we showed up, however, we were informed that they were having a "back to school buffet" event and that we could not even order off the menu. The buffet itself was odd but fine, but we ended up paying over $40/person for mediocre food and an atmosphere that was loud and populated with little kids running around all over the place. I have no problem with little kids or the special event, of course. My objection is with the fact that it was not noted on line and, although they called to confirm our reservation, they didn't mention the deviation from their normal menu. This restaurant failed on all levels and I will not recommend or revisit.
