Terrible service and food when restaurant wasn’t even that busy.
The worst salad ever. I asked for a chicken and lettuce salad and it came a mountain of lettuce and few tiny square chicken hardly to see and taste. It should not be so hard to fix a decent salad. The waiter was attentive and the host too.
It too 25 min. to get a glass of wine. Food way too cooked. Not what we expected.
I had a great experience and the services was great. I will definitely go back.. The food was delicious...
Loved it , everything was perfect
Sides are amazing. All steaks in our party were tasteless and fatty. Value was not worth it for the price and the quality. Have had better steaks at Texas Roadhouse. Made reservations with comments about a birthday that we were celebrating. None of the staff even mentioned it. Second time to give it a try, but won’t be coming back any time soon.
Excellent food and exceptional service. We were treated with a smile, seated on time, and treated very well.
This is a busy place for lunch but is a hidden gem for date night with the lady you love.
This is a great restaurant. But on a Thursday when other restaurants were packed, this one was pretty dead. Food was great, but service was slow and inattentive at times.
Took family to celebrate a birthday on December 26. Both kitchen and dining area understaffed. Food and service sub-par. Off their game, perhaps it was the holiday schedule.
Won’t go back!
I received a gift certificate for Christmas but they refused to honor it. They said it was only good for the uptown location even though it said NOTHING about it on the certificate. The filet mignon were ok, but difficult to cut with a steak knife. I won’t be eating here again. Better to go to Del Frisco or any other decent steak house.
The steaks and sides and salads were very good. However, two of us had the shrimp scampi and the shrimp was tough and the pasta had no flavor as there was very little sauce in the dish. That was very disappointing.
We were completely disappointed upon arriving at Nick and Sam's with Christmas Dinner reservations to be seating in a very bright room with cartoons on the TV's and kids screaming. Additionally there was a dressed Santa Claus playing a saxophone very loudly. The hostess agreed to relocate us to a different table in the main dining room and the manager brought an appetizer complimentary while we waited. Once seated, we ordered which was a challenge as there were as many children in this area all talking very loudly and then to our dismay the Saxaphone Santa came in and created more loud disrupting noise. The ambiance was utter chaos which is not what we desired for an expensive dinner on Christmas Eve. Additionally there were no hand towels in the ladies restroom because of children running in and out and using everything. Ugh, we all had headaches by the end of this meal. To make matters worse, we ordered a to go sandwich for our daughter who was flying in at midnight and discovered the French fries were left out of the package. While the food was excellent and the staff very kind and accommodating, the uncontrolled environment ruined the evening. This was not an experience we will repeat.
Wait staff was inept. Mumbled thru specials. Brought wrong food and never corrected the order. Food had obviously been prepared far n advance and was served over cooked and cold. Had to ask 4 times for a simple bowl of vanilla ice cream! Will not return to nick and Sam’s.
Severely disappointed in the quality of food and the level of management in handling the quality of food they serve. From a culinary stand point "who serves cotton candy on tuna tartar!?" Steaks were low quality and sides no flavor. Definite reason they put salt and pepper on tables. My husbands steak looked like boiled in water and then when we complained the flipped it and sent it back out. This place is a definite enjoyment for who think name brand is quality! Hillstone wait was too extreme so thought we would try but terribly disappointing and wishing we would have waited for a higher quality establishment.
Terrific service!! Our waitress was so attentive and kind! Will definitely return!
We celebrated my daughter’s 21st birthday on Saturday night and it was absolutely perfect! The service was excellent!
It seems like lunch is an afterthought here. Pretty sure the burger was a pre-made patty and the salad and other entrees looked similar to what you find in a cafeteria. Seems other people share my sentiment since there were about 15 people eating during prime time lunch.
All very nice. Specially liked the tuna tartar, the best in Dallas. Waiter very personable and helpful. Beautiful surroundings.
It had been a couple of years since we dined at Nick & Sam's PC because the restaurant seemed to be overpriced at that time. Thus, we decided to give it another chance mainly because of the location in the middle of the University Park area. I should have been warned by the fact that at 7:30 on a Saturday night that the restaurant was fairly empty, and the impressions from years past remains today. Ultimately overpriced means that the juice was not worth the squeeze, and not a specific price point. That is that the food was priced to be excellent, but was marginal at best. My spinach side dish was completely flavorless, which came with the lamb special. The lamb was cooked appropriately, but the mint sauce was so sweet and minty that it was not useable. The redfish entrée was not good either and the sides were not memorable. The only notable positive was the fact that the salads were good before dinner and a 1/2 salad is ample for one person before the entrée.
Ask to be seated in the main dining room otherwise you get stuck in the bar area with bright flat screen TVs blinding you. The place was almost empty and we still got stuck in the bar area. If I want to pay $80 for a bone in filet, I do not want to feel like I am in a sports bar, people.
The steaks were not of best quality and they were not at all cooked as requested.
Crab cake Louie was amazing. Wedge salad was a regular wedge. Server was attentive, but not intrusive. I will go back when I have more time. Hip place that "un-hip" people don't feel out of place!
Great Birthday dinner for 10. As always the food and service was excellent!
We love Nick and Sams Steakhouse. This was the first time at N&S Grill. It did not disappoint. Our group are all "Foodies" and we even had two executive chefs. Everyone raved about the food, presentation, etc. Pizzas were great. Cocktails were even better. We closed the place down. The staff was awesome. We will definitely return many times.
That the entree's were limited with accompanying sides and very pricey.
Food was good but service was incredibly slow and tables crammed in made it awkward with everyone else around.
I typically enjoy this restaurant but this was not the best experience I've had
Perfect date night
Great place, thought we’d try it and see if it was as good as the original in uptown. It was.
Wonderful location for a birthday party! Had a large group and we were given two servers and a private room- didn't even ask for it! Wonderful all around!
Our waiter was amazing. The food was wonderful and we highly recommend this location. It is a wonderful location for both business and personal dinners. Some items a bit over costly (steaks on the high side) but others are very reasonable.
Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here tonight. Food was excellent and in some ways I prefer this location to the main N&S. -- same excellent food and less noisy/ crowded. We will be back!
Our reservation was at 8 and the staff were cleaning up to go home and therefore the service was poor.
This place is a great find in Preston Center. Meal was on point, not rushed, and the price was right. Entrees between $10-20 and portions perfect for lunch. Has the tomato and mozzarella salad with steak added on. Amazing.
It was the second time we had been there. Great both times.
Love the food and the open windows while you dine. Especially loved the Arugula Salad and the Sea Bass.
Our server Emily was great! Very attentive & we even got some complimentary tacos for the whole table! Food was excellent but pricey.
Food was good as always, service was awful, our waitress had a big party in another room and rarely came around - told us delay was because they were ahead of us - we gave advance notice we were celebrating big birthday - finally gave up trying to get an acknowledgement - flagged down someone to take our order after apps had been gone for 15 min, flagged some down to pay after credit card out for 15 min, manager was not around either
I was extremely disappointed in our experience with Sunday brunch at Nick & Sam's. I had been looking forward to an elegant and tasty brunch and selected Nick & Sam's after reviewing their menu on line and determining that they had a nice variety of choices. When we showed up, however, we were informed that they were having a "back to school buffet" event and that we could not even order off the menu. The buffet itself was odd but fine, but we ended up paying over $40/person for mediocre food and an atmosphere that was loud and populated with little kids running around all over the place. I have no problem with little kids or the special event, of course. My objection is with the fact that it was not noted on line and, although they called to confirm our reservation, they didn't mention the deviation from their normal menu. This restaurant failed on all levels and I will not recommend or revisit.
Great Back to School brunch!
