Nick and Nino's Penthouse Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Celebrating our anniversary with dinner and Nick & Neno's, my wife and I had a great time. The steaks, sides, bread, and dessert were all fantastic. The service was certainly the best we've had in Illinois...perhaps the best we've experienced ever. It was fun to order different courses from an iPad menu at the table, and the explanations from the server about each ingredient and every course were amazing. Highest recommendation!
Fantastic evening! The food and service were impeccable! It was our anniversary. We were seated at a window table and treated like royalty. Our meals were outstanding. Firecracker shrimp appetizer and the wild mushroom and arugula soup were awesome! Flight of filets and chipotle marinated sea bass were entree selections. The Chef Bradly Mechol, presented a hand crafted a fruit bouquet he personally made for us that was so fresh, beautiful and delicious! So thoughtful and special! Nick & Nino's and the Pinnacle Club truly are a gems in the City of Springfield! Best view from 30 floors above! I can't thank the staff enough for making our night fun and memorable! Cheers!
I am a frequent diner, love the experience and great tableside service.
Had the most amazing flight of steaks with 3 different crusts and 3 different dipping sauces. Chef's potato's are dangerously addicting.
I would recommend starting off with the Firecracker Shrimp.
Thanks for a great night!
My wife and I love to go to Nick and Nino's. It's a bit on the high end, but it is totally worth it. The care this place takes to make sure yours is an experience and not just shoveling food into your gob. I always get the Flight of Filets and my wife usually gets one of their menu specials. We are talking this menu changes every time we are there. They keep things seasonal and fresh. The Lobster bisque is second to none. I could sit there and die of a food coma just from indulging on the spicy, creamy, velvety, ambrosia of the gods. It's usually a 4 course meal for us. Appetizers (don't miss out), Soup/Salad (always get the Lobster bisque) Main and Dessert. Desserts are also always changing. The staff are always willing to help make a selection. They are always there to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. If I could give this place Michelins, I would give it 4. Outstanding people. Make reservations, but I believe they would accommodate even without
Best (and most expensive) restaurant in town. Food was delicious. Sea Bass and New York strip steak were excellent. Tab for two cocktails, one salad, one side and two entrees plus tip was $155. Restaurant is very quiet unless something special is going on at the hotel.
Food was absolutely amazing. Salads, steaks, desserts - everything was top notch. Perfectly prepared and presented. Service was excellent. Was greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome And the view from the top of the wyndham hotel was very good. See if you can get a highly coveted window table. I dine often in Chicago and St. Louis and was very impressed with our experience at Nick & Nino's. I didn't expect such a memorable experience in Springfield. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be coming back on future trips to Springfield, IL.
The service was excellent but we were disappointed in the entrees, particularly the rib eye. The bread basket rolls were poor and it seemed to me that the salads were small for $10.00. Will have to say that I enjoyed the Lobster Bisque soup. The whole problem is it's high priced and we expected more. Loved the location above the city. The interior of the restaurant was excellent and enjoyable.
We were hoping for an exceptional dinner to celebrate our son's move to Australia. We have had excellent meals at this restaurant in the past for special occasions so we thought we would return. The waiter (who is very experience and we have had several times before) was excellent. The cocktails, wine and appetizers were all great however the two steaks we had were decidedly overcooked. The real killer of the evening was when they brought out a Hoover (not a quiet push sweeper) and proceeded to vacuum beneath 3 tables. It was only 841 pm so they were not about to close nor was it early enough for a second seating. This brought the evening to an unfortunate end. I doubt we return anytime soon. I suspect the lady thought she was being thorough to clean up before the end of her shift.
The steaks were good. The decor is a bit dated with the exception of the gray wall with pink steer heads - a bit of a shocking combination. The service was attentive, although a little unpolished. A good choice when dining in Springfield. Of course the view of Springfield is very nice.
We go to Nick and Nino's a few times a year. I always request a window table for my wife's birthday and have always been able to sit by the window. Unfortunately, they have a new hostess and he wasn't able to seat us next to the window this year. Here is why I was unhappy with the arrangement this year. I received a call earlier in the day to confirm the time, reason for our reservation and the request for a window table. I was told that they could see that in my reservation and it shouldn't be a problem. After getting a list of excuses on why we were not able to sit next to the window, one table opened up within minutes. The hostess made NO effort to make the situation right and move us near the window. In the past, the previous hostess would have had us grab a drink in the lounge in order to fulfill our request.
People go to Nick and Nino's for the food, ambiance and the VIEW!
We went for our Anniversary. Neither one of us had ever been. It made our night. It was absolutely amazing! We will definitely be going back. We even talked about going here every year for our anniversary on our way home. Thought about making a tradition out of it! 😊
