We love the ambience and great service we always receive at Nick and Nino’s. The food is always expertly prepared and flavorful.
We were visiting from St. Louis where there is a LOT of fine dining. N&N's was as good as anything back home. Expert prep, attractive setting, attentive staff, tasty and different accompaniments.
Excellent food, great service, nice ambiance
Nick and Nino's is the best place for Date Night! The food and drinks were good and our group had a great view.
I requested through OpenTable and it was super easy.
I have been a resident of Springfield since the 1960's if that tells you anything. The Saint Nicholas Hotel, The Mill, Norb Andy's, The Old Luxenburg, The Lake Club, etc. ~ A lot has changed, Top of the Nick was awesome and Nick and Nino's has kept up the same excellence. We try to do all our celebrating there. The city view is awesome, especially after their relocation on the other side. You Have to Go. Obviously I appreciate Fine Food!!
The Food was amazing, cooked to perfection. It is a little pricey but sometimes that's ok if the quality is there and it was. Only thing I would say is the kitchen and the bar are a little slow to provide.
We both ordered the steak which was outstanding. It came coated in a delicious sauce. The view from the 30th floor of the Wyndham Hotel was pretty spectacular, too. I knew it would be expensive because it was Valentine's Day and I was told the price of the meals in advance. I ordered a glass of strawberry champagne for the occasion and was a little surprised that a little glass cost me $14. Other than that the meal was well worth it.
Our server Jessica took 30 mins to get our drinks. I think she forgot to ring them in. She told us nothing about the menu. Once our drinks were brought out we finally ordered our food. We’re starving at this point and then she brought the wrong appetizer out. Waited another 15 mins to get our right app. Our reservation was at 645 and we didn’t leave until 845. Spent $250 for the worse service I’ve ever had in my life. Will not be back or recommend.
Everything was wonderful as always. Amazing wait staff, perfect atmosphere, great selection and food taste amazing. My wife and I always enjoy our meals here.
Always a great meal
Always a great experience
My partner just got “all clear” on her scans for metastatic breast cancer. Rick is THE BEST waiter in this city and makes you feel so special! His knowledge of and dedication to this establishment is so impressive. Love him & the food is phenomenal!
Honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. My wife had the flight of filets and I had the Porterhouse. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and charcuterie board. From start to finish it was an amazing experience, I highly recommend Nick and Ninos for special occasions or if you are in the mood for a “high end” dinner.
Screaming baby/kid at the table next to us.
My wife’s filet was over cooked it was ordered medium rare it came medium well, so the waitress took it back it took 15 min to get another one except when it was brought out it was very rare so rare it was chewy. They did take it off the bill and offered dessert when the chocolate cake was brought out it was hard and stale, it must have been left over from the holidays. The sauce swoosh on the plate was so hard you could not scrape it with a fork. The waitress was very good though and apologized, but the manager never came
I have never written a review on any establishment before to my recollection. I either have a Good or bad experience and seem to just keep it to myself, determining in my own mind, if I'll return or stay away in future. I felt compelled to write a review on this experience to solidify how meaningful the night meant to me as well as the other three friends that joined me. The collaboration of multiple sauces, crusting options for steaks as well as the little added dish compliments of tomato salsa, shoestring sweet potatoes, sautéed leeks etc. etc. all join for an experience to your palate that is not easily obtained in many locations around this area like we experienced Saturday evening. Then to be explained as to what we were getting and how we would feel before we experienced it was another surprise. If you get to be so fortunate, as we did, to have Rick as your guide thru the journey count yourself blest! Good company, good drinks, good food, good atmosphere, good service... stop reading and just make a reservation already!!
The lights of the city at night a quiet meal. attentive wait staff and a selection of food and wine that leaves your head spinning.
Food was great, just a little slow in coming to the table, loved the breads. Our server was thorough, however the backup staff was not so efficient or attentive. Lighting seemed a bit too dim at our table, but will request a better positioned table in the future. Our tolerance for noise is not what it once was, background chatter tended to be a tad overbearing, at times. The value was a smidge over priced, but celebrating The New Year with my husband was Priceless! Still an overall enjoyable experience.
We were impressed with the service, food, and atmosphere.
My wife and I celebrated our 45th Anniversary along with our daughter’s 32nd birthday — the atmosphere, dinner and service were all outstanding
Can't wait to go back. Definately asking for Rick R again. Best waiter I've EVER had in any restaurant and totally added to the experience!
Best steak I've ever had.
Everything was excellent! The maître d’ accommodated my request for a window seat. We were celebrating my companion’s birthday. The ambience was lovely. Our server was excellent. The food was amazing. Dinner and drinks were rather pricey, but certainly worth it for a special occasion. Beautiful view of downtown Springfield. I love this place. You will too!!
My steak was under cooked, but the service was excellent
Rick was awesome as usual. We hope to be back soon.
Visited for my wife’s 40th & were not disappointed. We have been fortunate to dine here in the past and it is always as expected. Food, service (David was great again) and Rick always making you feel welcomed. Well done tonight!
One of my favorite places to celebrate special occasions! Fabulous food, service and selection of wines!
As always, the food and service were excellent.
Food was great; atmosphere relaxed and staff extremely helpful
We celebrated my husband’s birthday with two of our children. Our server, Amanda, and her assistant were polite, knowledgeable and timely. Food was very good and timing between courses was just about perfect. Can’t wait to go back!
Awesome experience! You feel like royalty during the time your there!
The menu provides several outstanding dishes to choose from to cover all tastes. The service, from being greeted at the front door of the establishment and personally escorted to our table to the, wait staff that was very attentive, to our individual waiter who was knowledgeable, friendly, and plain outstanding is second to none in Springfield. The food was excellent and cooked perfectly to order. The staff does an excellent job of not "interfering" with the experience by piling up appetizers, salads, and entrees one after the other but, rather, they do a great job of delivering the next course at the exact appropriate time--so much more enjoyable than your chain restaurants! Not a complaint because you get what you pay for but, the menu is as pricey as any in central Illinois so be prepared to "splurge". Again, the splurging was well worth it!!
It was very warm and after telling the server it was still warm. Steaks are overpriced.
Best high-end restaurant in Springfield. Not just a meal- it was an experience.
Nice place..food and service was excellent..limited tables so service was very personal and noise level low..will definitely put this one on a regular basis!
The calamari special was fabulous. My husband had the lamb, and he was very pleased. I had the seared tuna, and it was cold. The plate looked like it had been sitting for awhile before I received it. Other than that it, we had a nice time.
Rick and overall service was exceptional!
Always a great meal! Can't imagine coming to Springfield without going to Nick and Ninos. Food was superb and service by Rick was amazing.
