Nicholas Ratings and Reviews
Nicholas is firing on all cylinders. The food is so fresh and tastes clean (with emphasis on natural ingredients). Food is not overly sauced or seasoned. We had three different seafood entrees, Cobia, Black Sea Bass, and Butter Braised Lobster. All superb. I felt the pricing was reasonable for the high quality food and service.
Extremely disappointed in the experience probably because our expectations were so high based upon all of the great reviews. Nothing about Nicholas was outstanding. The food was a letdown, portions very small, service was good but certainly not notable and our check including a 20% tip totaled $340 for two of us. Certainly not something I would ever recommend to anyone.
Overall the food was good, but service was not what you would expect. DO Not Do the Cellar Selection.!! The wine pours are short, never offer any additional, and they are not worth the additional money. Very cold atmosphere, not a warm comfortable place to eat.
We love the wonderful blending of seasonings along with the perfect preparation of every dish. Wine was excellent. The service and attention of everyone is definitely 5 star.
Our one disappointment this time was the choice of dessert. We missed the traditional comfort selection.
Nevertheless, the evening was wonderful.
We are also enjoying the wines that we purchased from you with our dinners at home.
Only superlatives go with my review. This was our first visit to Nicholas and definitely will not be the last! Every dish was delishes and imaginative. I had the vegetarian option and could not finish my meal. I received a box of chocolates for my birthday. That was a lovely gesture.
Excellent! As it has been each time we come here. We both had the tasting menu with wine pairings. The only item I was not thrilled with was the tortellini. The tomatoe sauce overwhelmed the delicate tortellini with goat cheese. Otherwise no complaints about food, service and ambiance.
Our dinner was excellent from beginning to end. We both had Buratta as our appetizer. I had the panco encrusted halibut special which was to die for. My friend had the hake which was also fabulous. For dessert, he had the cheesecake and I had the souffle. We ordered the rose wine which had a life of its own. I cannot wait to return!
Nicholas lived up to expectations as the food and service was wonderful. We had reservations to celebrate our anniversary in the dining room but elected to eat in the bar because we wanted a more lively environment and wanted to dine from the a la carte menu. We weren't disappointed. Our server Marcello was very attentive and helpful with our selections. Nicholas is a great spot for a special occasion.
Beautiful decor, delicious food and extremely professional servers sets the stage for this fabulous restaurant. So many delicious choices... My favorite is their seafood entrees, so fresh and flavorful. Be sure to save room for dessert! You will not be disappointed!
Having been told this restaurant was one of the best in th county and having read great reviews, the expectations were high. And the food definitely lived up to, if not exceeded, them. My husband and I ordered from the tasting menu. For the time in my life, I closed my eyes and sighed as I tasted each plate. There was not one dish that wasn't absolutely amazing, and I've never experienced that before at any fine dining restaurant. The service was impeccable, with maybe ten seconds between the last fork down and a waiter clearing the plates. We were given the perfect amount of time between courses and the perfect portion to taste each time. The only aspect about this restaurant that was disappointing was the decor and the fact that you can see cars whizzing by if you are sitting in certain seats. Other than that, excellent!!
Nicholas NEVER disappoints! Their menu offers wonderful selections and changes every few months. Their wine selection is equally varied. We dine there frequently and always leave saying that our meals were fabulous. It is a beautiful restaurant and the servers are knowledgeable and friendly. Nicholas often greets his guests and he is also helpful with the wine selection. If you haven't dined here, give yourself a treat and try it. It's the BEST!
A must if you need to be reminded of the days of flawless, intuitive service and discrete ambiance.
The food is art in a dish that transforms into a sensation for the palate.
Nicholas provides satisfaction for all senses.
My favorite place to celebrate a special occasion.
Very attentive service and discrete acknowledgement of our anniversary, both when we were seated and again at dessert time. Cocktails expertly prepared & served. Complimentary chilled soup offering by the chef was a nice touch. Wine list had some good depth and was priced surprisingly well by the bottle (prices by the glass were comparatively too steep); vintage delivered was as listed and temperature was spot on. Day scallop appetizer was outstanding and monkfish entree perfectly prepared. Desserts also outstanding.
The food was amazing. We opted for the tasting menu as there was two of us and this way we could try most items. The portions were really small and we thought we would leave hungry. However at the end of the six courses we were completely satisfied. The food tasted great. The service was amazing. It seemed as if every employee in the restaurant was eager to help and serve their customers.
The waiter was great, the food was ok. I got the tomato soup and monkfish. Monkfish was a little mealy. The soup had nice and depth and flavor to it but it could have been served in a tea cup because it was gone after three spoonfuls. I don't understand the hype over this place - its always over-priced and stuffy. I will usually only go here when one of my friends wants to go because there are so many other better restaurants around at which I'd prefer to eat.
Went to Nicholas to celebrate my wife's graduation. We sat at the bar prior to being seated in the dining room and enjoyed some cocktails. Once seated for dinner, we chose the tasting menu with the wine accompaniment. Each course and the accompanying wine were incredible. Nicholas did not disappoint. The food and service were impeccable. Highly recommended.
