Chef David and the waiter were great! There was an option for a tasting menu, which I tried and it was way more food than I expected and thought the price was very good. I'd definitely recommend going there. The tartare was excellent and surprisingly was this creamy bean soup (I'm not usually a fan of bean). I'll be back, the next time I visit the island. Thank you for the hospitality!
Awesome experience. Food was superb and the service is excellent. We were greeted by the chef and he offered and explained every detail of the menu. I’ll say this probably one of the best restaurants I’ve been in PR. Will return.

Very nice hidden gem in San Juan, small in size but huge in service and flavor. Went there for the first time for a special occasion and what a nice surprise! Enjoyed the 5 course meal per chef recommendations, loved the scallops and sea bass. Prices are $$$ so if you are looking for cheap food you should go elsewhere. Will definitely repeat!

Amazing experience. I made a new friend. He was the owner and chef! He would stop by to chat about each course. You felt like family. The food was off the charts good and the lobster was the best I have ever had in my life!

Chef David Chaymol was a true delight and created masterful entrees. The atmosphere is unique and a bit loud with intimate seating to your neighbors however we were lucky to get a hightop table in the corner and enjoyed the cuisine and our friendly chef throughout the evening.

Outstanding food. Hamachi crudo was fresh and flavors well balanced. Chilean sea bas with fresh black truffles was absolutely fantastic. The outer crust was crispy and the inside perfectly cooked. The flavor was balanced and delicious. Certainly worth the visit.

My boyfriend and I came here on February 15th for Valentine’s Day dinner because wanted to be able to order off the regular menu instead of the Valentine’s Day prefix menu. We were blown away! My boyfriend is allergic to gluten and nuts, and Chef Chaymol was more than accommodating. He told my boyfriend exactly what he could and couldn’t eat, right down to the creme brûlée, which my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant is very small but the atmosphere is cozy and intimate. The lobster dish, which I ordered, was to die for! My boyfriend said it was the best meal he’s ever had in his life. Thank you Niche Bistro and Chef Chaymol — we will absolutely recommended this restaurant to anyone who visits Puerto Rico in the future!

My favorite restaurant in San Juan. It’s small, intimate, romantic, and has outstanding food. Thursday nights are my favorite because they have live music. The young gentleman that performs is super talented and has the most beautiful voice. The chef/owner greets everyone upon arrival and goes through the menu. Makes everyone feel so special and welcome. Recommend anything they make with the fresh truffles they fly in weekly! Also best lobster bisque I’ve ever had anywhere. This restaurant is a gem.
Great food, amazing place!
From the moment you walk in the door you are surrounded by a staff that loves what they do. We were early for our reservation and they were able to seat us right away. We got a full description of the tasting menu from our server, then Chef himself came over and told us more and with each course insured we were happy and gave us tidbits about what we were eating.
The place is small, in fact, they jokingly called it the cave. It was full the night we were there, so the noise level was high, but it was just people enjoying their night, so it was not an uncomfortable noise level.
The pace of the meal was perfect. In fact, one course came too quickly and Chef had them hold it to make sure the timing was more correct. We did the Chef tasting menu which changes nightly, but the Chestnut puree was life changing and the French praline souffle was to die for.
I would recommend this place if you love food and a fine dining experience. The prices were fair for what you get here.
Niche is a small beautiful French restaurant with Puerto Rican accents. The food was delicious and carefully presented. The chef explains everything that is offered. The experience was enhanced by a musician playing carefully selected tunes. We will return.

We did a five course tasting menu with a truffle chestnut veloute, octopus, truffles mushroom fettuccine, an amazing risotto dish with papaya, coconut to accompany halibut, the piece de resistance was a superb suffer. The veg also made wonderful wine suggestions. This is small compact dining area with everything wonderfully choreographed—wonderful staff. I almost forgot the guitarist—a nice gentle accompaniment to dinner.
French cooking is hard to find on the island. This is outstanding, with fresh ingredients, even fresh truffles grated at your table. WELL DONE CHEF!!
Reserved for my birthday dinner. Restaurant was a lot smaller than expected but very cozy and beautifully lit. We were immediately taken to a small bar table at the end of the restaurant stuck between the bar and a wall. Very uncomfortable stools with no back support. Two other 2-tops were available so we asked if we could move to one of them but were told we'd have to wait until other diners finished so we could take their table. Another couple arrives soon after and is taken to a regular table for two which just blew my mind considering we weren't walk-ins. Apps were great, main courses weren't--Lobster & Filet Mignon were both overcooked. Overall, I left extremely disappointed on my birthday, ended up at another restaurant to finish dinner and dessert.
Avery upscale, small, intimate restaurant. The food and service is excellent. Our entrees included one of the day’s specials sea bass, salmon, halibut and a beef dish. A nice wine list with some reasonable priced bottles. Would recommend.
This a great spot away from the hustle and bustle of San Juan. The unique dining space is beautiful with granite walls and a large curving table built to host multiple parties while maintaining privacy. Our server was fantastic....attentive but not doting and offered great info on the menu. Food was amazing. Really enjoyed the entire experience and would highly recommend.

After a wonderful celebratory dinner, we went back for Sunday brunch. Every morsel of food was delicious and the service was attentive, especially fine for a couple of foodies. The ambience was lovely, very cozy, stylish, and unique. Best of all was the after-dinner beachwalk back to Parque del Indio, a waterfront treasure.

Being from New York we have hundreds of French restaurants. Not only did Niche have a spectacular menu, but the tasting menu was to die for . The ambience was cozy and romantic The service in itself was phenomenal. Chef David Chaymol became part of the dining experience, making it very special and unique. If you are staying in Ocean park or anywhere in Puerto rico. You Should go. My wife and I recommend it. Niche is a must .
