Neyla Mediterranean Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We had a party of two and ask for a booth.
The host so only four could set at a booth. After we were seated a party of two was seated at the booth next to us.
My friends food was served and my dinner had not been served after waiting 10 minutes, I approached the host. He apologized and said they were short staffed.
They did try to compensate with a complementary glass of house wine.
However, when the food finally arrived it was delicious
Went for DC Restaurant week lunch-special with friends. Surprisingly un-crowded. Had a great three course meal with prompt, friendly service. Appetizers were the standout of the meal, all three that we ordered (and shared) were unanimously agreed to be excellent. Deserts were very nice too. The main courses were middling, but I suspect their full menu has better options...
I must admit that I came into Neyla's with low expectations. In my experience the big restaurants at RTC tend to be oversold, overpriced, and under-inspired. But Neyla's surprised me with more than just the filling three courses and tolerable bill I expect from restaurant week. I had a nice meal: perhaps not the absolute peak of my gastronomic experience, but fun, unpretentious, and satisfying. Given that I live within walking distance I may be adding it to my regular restaurant rotation.
Good food, a bit noisy, particularly the first with a game on in the bar. Service was leisurely, which mostly worked for us. Good menu, Lebanese wine and Baklava were both excellent. Not my first choice for Mediterranean cuisine, but certainly an enjoyable experience overall.
We love mediterranean food, there are not too many choices close to our home. This place is right around the corner. The food is AWESOME! Everything hit the spot perfectly and tasted great.
The restaurant is clean, fresh, and everything looks new. The staff and manager were very friendly. The service was fair, we believe that this was caused by the appearance of being short staffed. If they had more wait staff on hand I think everything would have been perfect.
We will definitely be eating at Neyla again!
We were there for 2 hours just to eat an appetizer and entree. Service was extremely slow and everyone was stuck in a back room, something was wrong with the heat? Which also should meant excellent service because everyone in the restauarant was in one room.
I really enjoy Mediterranean food so I was excited to try this place. The food was very tasty. The dip sampler was outstanding and my favorite of the whole meal. The pita is made fresh and comes to the table warm. The unique cocktails were also very good.
My only complaint is that I tried to use my new WorkPerks card and the waiter apparently didn't have the updated new year information. He insisted that it was a free desert, even after I mentioned that my form told me it was 10% off. When I got back home and checked the sheet I was given, it should have been 10% off the whole check. I would have preferred the 10% off because we were really too full for dessert, and Baklava is not my favorite thing.
I would highly recommend Neyla to my vegetarian friends; some of which who recommended that we go there instead of McCormick and Schmick's. Everyone else really enjoyed their meals. My salmon was undercooked; so I didn't finish it. But the manager was kind enough to offer to make it over; so I will eat it today for dinner. I think that was a very nice gesture, even though it's was not really anyone's fault. Also, the dessert was very delicious. I think that I would go there again, but after work for drinks and appetizers. Oh, and dessert of course .
Lost it. Neyla used to one of the top new restaurants in Fairfax. It appears they may have new owners. No sign of original staff. Service was awful. We were told that several of the wines on the small wine list were not in stock and they didn't know when of if they would restock wines. Server recommended red sangia, which was extremely sweet. Not something you could have with a meal. Food (salmon skewers) were horribly overcooked and dry. Shrimp dish was tasteless. None of the usual seasoning.
We had visited Neyla at least 6 times before, This was completely different - and disappointing, to say the least. We won't be going back.
Located conveniently right across the street from our hotel, Neyla is a great mix of new age take on Med styled foods in snazzy digs with lots of bling and glitz. The food was actually very good and presentation was second to very few, but service was a bit on the languid side; not bad, mind you, but anything but attentive. The skating rink outside, the 'city' feel of the location and the overall experience blurred that one VERY slightly off tune note and overall we had a great pre-flight dinner.
We'll do this pre-flight overnight and Neyla dine out again for sure!
We chose this restaurant before seeing a movie in Reston Town Center. The food is middle eastern. The salads we ordered were overdressed and quite plain: lettuce/tomato/cucumber with flat bread. We ordered the middle eastern spreads with felafel to start. The spreads were quite tasty, the felafel were overdone and hard. The flat bread pizza was tasty but a little oily. Our biggest complaint was the service, or should I say the lack of service. The restaurant was more than half empty on a Sat. night in a busy shopping area and that should have been a clue, but during our entire meal, the waiter never returned. The only time we saw him was to take our order and to (finally) bring our check after we looked in vain for anyone to walk by our table to ask for the bill. What was happening was a large group of young men( waiters) all congregating together and talking to each other instead of paying attention to the customers. We will not return.
Great food especially the Mezze options. We were a group of 6 adults and ordered a range of mezze and dips to share, which was plenty of food. The only negatives were the noise level (probably due to the cavernous high ceilings) and it was quite dark which made it hard to read the menu.
