Newport Rib Company Ratings and Reviews
Newport Rib never disappoints. Perfect baby backs every time. Generous portions.
We had to wait for our table because the hostess was taking to-go orders, which seemed odd with a full carry-out window.
My friend and I usually split a full rack - the full rack is only $4 more than the half rack, so it's a good way to save a bit of money.
Our server was great.
The ribs were excellent however the sides ( mac n cheese and fries) were awful. They were cold upon arrival and were not much better when brought back to us. The service was not that great , it was a busy night however, our appetizer arrived with our meal ( it was comped which we appreciated) , cornbread was not served with our meal, and our server hardly passed our table.
first time we have been to the Costa Mesa location, parking is a little tricky but other than that we were seated promptly after checking in, our waitress was friendly and gave us a few tips on the menu, the food was very good and large portions, the senior menu would be plenty for most people. all around a good experience and we would eat here again no problem
ordered their onion brick to start. Fried onion strings shaped in a brick. The half brick is plenty for four people. As we got toward the center, there was uncooked batter and not palatable.
Ordered the Rib Sampler plate. The beef rib bones were over powered with a sweet barbeque sauce. The beef was tough and did not fall off the bone.
The pork ribs were a little better, but a not as tender as they could be.
As for the sides, The coleslaw was bland, Garlic mash potatoes overpowering with garlic.
after 30 years in Orange Tulsa Ribs ribs is far superior. You don't need teeth to eat their beef.
Always a favorite! The food is always on-point, and since my wife has a gluten allergy, it's nice to have a place that not only serves quality food but also has so many options for her (even cornbread!). Our waitress, Kirsten, was terrific, and I love that their corkage fee doesn't prohibit me bringing in a wine of choice to enjoy with dinner. A great casual dining joint that doesn't require any compromises, we keep coming back again and again.
This was our first visit. The service was a little slow. We would have to wave someone down to get their attention in order for someone to stop at our table. The food was good overall. Their Tri Tip was excellent, very tender and juicy. I didn't care for their pulled pork since it was smothered in BBQ and you really didn't taste the flavor of the meat.
I would go ahead and order the tri tip.
I have celiac disease so it's hard to find gluten free fare that's also somewhere my friends enjoy the food. I get the ribs and gluten free corn bread, potato salad, and veggies. It's really good.
The server was amazing and efficient. I like how the menu isn't overwhelming and it's easy to see the symbol denoting which items are gluten free friendly!
Our waitress was super awesome and nice and make sure we had everything every time she came by she stopped to ask if we were good how was the food I passed by this place on several occasions and that Saturday night in the 28th was my first time there and I would definitely come back the food is great nice atmosphere it was an all-around great experience and the food is absolutely awesome
This is an AMAZING place! Kirsten our waitress was GREAT! she instantly gave us the ingredients book to help pick lunch for my son. Kirsten also gave her recommendations that helped me. We ordered: (I)Hamburger w/Gluten- free bun (baked fresh from the kitchen) which came with GF french fries (separate fryer) the largest slice of Pickle, Tomato & Cantalope. (II)Kale quinoa salad w/trip tip & sesame dressing on the side. (III) Lunch portion baby rack ribs w/sides: Mac & Cheese & Roasted veggies.
GREAT SERVICE & FOOD! We will be back.
Wish there was a restaurant located in the Valley (Burbank).
