We arrived in NYC around 730 pm. We were hungry. We found Buenavista here and booked a table.
From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. We immediately sat and our amazing experience began. Playing at the bar were a trio including a clarinet, trombone and trumpet. Wonderful music.
We ordered drinks then the Organic Quinoa Salad, my wife ordered the duck and I the osobuco. Our friendly server brought bread (amazing) and and olive dipping sauce. OMG it began.
The salad was truly the best ever. My wife, who gets duck everywhere, said this was easily the best duck she has eaten anywhere on the planet. My osobuca was melt in your mouth tender and amazingly flavored. I declared it was clearly the best osobuca I had eaten.
We then has a chance to get to know Master Chef Hernandez and had a lovely conversation, learning about his vision for this restaurant and background. He is a delightfully humble man who is visionary in his approach to food.
We had dessert: my wife the chocolate brownie and I the tres leche. It was decadent.
This is a 5 star restaurant with without the 5 star price tag. The staff are warm and welcoming, the food could be the best we have had across the globe, and the experience was magnificent.
We are considering a seacond meal there on our weekend get away.
