Having read all of the evaluations I will try and cover the main problems:
Noise: There was music in the background but not too disturbing.
TV: There was one but almost no volume of sound.
Cigar smoke: There was a small humidor of cigars for sale. No one was smoking but I can see that this could be a problem. There should be an after eating smoke area.
The restaurant has a very “up scale look” and has service to match. We only had steak which was very good. A little too crisp on the surface for me but they made it that way on purpose.
No embarrassment taking any guest here.
So good we went both nights we were in Myrtle Beach!
Food was excellent Wait staff attentive but not overbearing..
little expensive but worth it.
Pros: Excellent food and outstanding service.
Cons: Frank Sinatra blaring from the speakers. How much Frank does anyone really need. Seating is too close. We had the waiter's rear end for the table next to ours in our face throughout the meal. I require more privacy for the pr
Our waiter was Stefan and he was outstanding. Food was great, and the service was top notch.
It was nice just overpriced for what we were expecting 4 of us was $700 including tip
My spouse and I only get to visit Myrtle Beach once or twice a year, but on each visit New York Prime is ALWAYS on the agenda for one dinner. This has been our practice for going on 20 years, same waiter by the way, and we always look forward to it. Everything about this place is special, the food, the staff, the background music, wouldn't change one thing!
Another great experience there. Chris was an exceptional waiter. This place is a "must" for dining in Myrtle Beach.
Everything was perfect until 2 customers lit up the biggest cigars I've ever seen. The Oder spread through the room immediately. We had to get our desert to go. It ruined our entire evening. They should post they allow smoking.
We celebrated my birthday here with a romantic dinner for 2. It was a wonderful experience with delicious food. The staff was exellent!
I’ve been here before, which is the reason we returned, however this trip missed the mark in many ways. First, we came to a FINE dining establishment and was seated in a back room which had a tv on the way with basketball on! If I wanted to go to a sports bar I could have done so without spending as much money as we did! Second, the waiter, while he did his job really missed the mark, it began when we only wanted water to drink, his demeanor changed and the “shun” began. We ALWAYS drink water, even when drink is included! When we asked him about a steak and the chopped steak, his response was very limited, in fact his answer on the steak was like we offended him and the chopped steak description was “a big hamburger pattie”. I like chopped steak and frequently order it, I simply wanted to know what was special about THIS chopped steak since it was 30 bucks! He also just kept checking on us and did great with that but was obviously NOT interested in us! He stayed at the other tables answering questions and even using a small flashlight to help them see the menu while smiling etc when dealing with other tables, never did we see a smile and we got the feeling we were annoying him. We spent 111 bucks for two people and tipped over 20% even though we were treated like second class! Third, while the restaurant has no control over service animals and have to allow them, we had to eat with a large sheep dog in the room with us. Lastly, the waiter just “took” our valet tag with no explanation as to what he was doing with it. When we left the valet asked if the server got our tag which I replied yes, he then said he didn’t give it to us. He then picked up a Porsche key from the counter and said “the Porsche, right?” In hind sight I should have said yes and then asked for management when he brought it! We left with a terrible feeling. Went for fine dining, got sports bar atmosphere with a huge dog in the room and a waiter that could care less about us!
The service was excellent. Great bartender, wait staff. Food was fantastic and the side dishes are very large.
steak is usually excellent but the delmonica was tough. oysters rockefeller was too overdone.
We have been to New York Prime in Myrtle Beach several times. We have never been disappointed. The food is Outstanding, the service and atmosphere is first class all the way. If you are looking for a great restaurant for a special occassion or important business dinner, you must try New York Prime.
Really lovely experience overall. We have been there three times and this was our favorite of the three by far. We had the oysters Rockefeller and the shrimp cocktail to start followed by the shellfish bisque. I had the Seabass and my husband had the New York strip. We had excellent red wine with dinner. We had amazing martinis to start the night made perfectly. And for dessert we had the chocolate cake with champagne. The service was really great , we love the tableside serving. Someone next to us had the lobster and it looked amazing, we will have to try that next time.
The staff were all very helpful in helping us create a surprise for my wife's birthday. The food was excellent as always. One of our favorite places to visit. Thanks to everyone at New York Prime. See you again soon.
The atmosphere was very nice. The dim lighting and smaller dining area made for a very intimate experience. The service was fantastic and the food came out quickly and was cooked perfectly. We enjoyed all aspects of our evening. We definitely will go back for more special occasions in the future.
Food was unbelievably good. Best steak in SC period.
The service and atmosphere were great, my steak was OK but ordered a bone-in ribeye and I have been eating ribeyes for 60 years - what I got was not a ribeye.
Outstanding in all aspects... beats Ruth Chris . Jamie perfection of my
1. Great food.
2. Excellent service.
3. Music was exceedingly loud causing patrons to talk more loudly adding to noise.
4. First visit and was seated next to the restroom to review all the foot traffic and chatter.
5. Parking was not marked for self-parking so had to use the “optional” valet parking
6. So, no we would not recommend the restaurant to friends.
It was VD so busy as expected. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar before being seated a few minutes before our appointed time. The service was very professional but he could have been more personable. Not a complaint just constructive critism. The fresh bread, shrimp cocktail and salads were great. We were both a little unhappy that there was a good 15min or more wait between finishing our salads and receiving the main course. Both steaks were prepared exactly to the specified temp. However my definition of seared is apparently different than NYP. The steaks we were served were charred not seared and the burned taste of the exterior overpowered the flavor of the rest of the steak. The cheesecake and coffee were phenomenal. My only complaints were the extra wait for our main course (roughly 45min from the time we placed the order) & the manner in which the steaks were prepared. If that's the way they're prepared normally, so be it. My wife and I didnt care for it and will dine elsewhere in the future.
Rivals any NY steakhouse I've patronized. Quality of steaks is unmatched by any local establishment.
This was our first visit to New York Prime Steakhouse but will not be our last. We went for Valentine’s Day. It was nicely decorated &had a very nice ambiance. Our waiter was Jeremy. He was excellent. Very professional & attended to our every need. We shared a shrimp cocktail, & a Cesar salad, both were exceptional. We both ordered a 8 oz filet mignon. They were perfectly cooked. Pittsburgh style outside with a pink, juicy Center. We shared the cheesy mashed potatoes as well,Which were also delicious. We topped the evening off with a chocolate chip cookie & ice cream. This is an a la cart restaurant so it is pricey but for a special occasion you will find no better place to dine.
Stephon is THE BEST! NY Prime is great for special occasions or for that romantic night out. We absolutely love the aroma and atmosphere that NY Prime offers. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
Few things forgotten by wait person but he was extremely friendly and eager to please. Food very good. Better dessert choices such as creme brûlée or a fruit cup. 29.00 for chocolate cake way too expensive. Thanks for decorating table and a birthday card.
Food was ok. Didn’t have a ‘wow’ factor that I would expect for a $300 meal. We’ve been wanting to dine here for sometime but didn’t live up to my expectations.
Can’t say enough about the excellent service and the amazing steaks.
Outstanding as always!
Great service and spectacular steaks. Thank you for a great night.
Birthday dinner for my wife........wonderful experience as always
Service was particularly good
Pittsburgh style steak prep was quite flavorful
Favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach by far
I was looking for a great restaurant to enjoy a wonderful dining experience with my wife . I found it at New York Prime. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed every moment. You can get lost in this place from the atmosphere it make you feel like you are in New York. I think I have found a new favorite restaurant. I live more than 3 hours away and I can’t wait to go back.....
This was the second time we came to this location! It is outstanding every time! The food is over the top! The service is unlike anything else I have experienced and I live in Charleston!
The best Steak dinner. Cook to perfection. Staff was on point. I cannot wait to come back.
Excellent Steak & sides, everything was served hot, portions were fantastic
Outstanding as always never a disappointment Service food drinks above the rest
Food is always Great and the Wonderful Service adds to the dining experience.
