New York Prime Steakhouse - Myrtle Beach Ratings and Reviews
It was VD so busy as expected. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar before being seated a few minutes before our appointed time. The service was very professional but he could have been more personable. Not a complaint just constructive critism. The fresh bread, shrimp cocktail and salads were great. We were both a little unhappy that there was a good 15min or more wait between finishing our salads and receiving the main course. Both steaks were prepared exactly to the specified temp. However my definition of seared is apparently different than NYP. The steaks we were served were charred not seared and the burned taste of the exterior overpowered the flavor of the rest of the steak. The cheesecake and coffee were phenomenal. My only complaints were the extra wait for our main course (roughly 45min from the time we placed the order) & the manner in which the steaks were prepared. If that's the way they're prepared normally, so be it. My wife and I didnt care for it and will dine elsewhere in the future.
This was our first visit to New York Prime Steakhouse but will not be our last. We went for Valentine’s Day. It was nicely decorated &had a very nice ambiance. Our waiter was Jeremy. He was excellent. Very professional & attended to our every need. We shared a shrimp cocktail, & a Cesar salad, both were exceptional. We both ordered a 8 oz filet mignon. They were perfectly cooked. Pittsburgh style outside with a pink, juicy Center. We shared the cheesy mashed potatoes as well,Which were also delicious. We topped the evening off with a chocolate chip cookie & ice cream. This is an a la cart restaurant so it is pricey but for a special occasion you will find no better place to dine.
I was looking for a great restaurant to enjoy a wonderful dining experience with my wife . I found it at New York Prime. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed every moment. You can get lost in this place from the atmosphere it make you feel like you are in New York. I think I have found a new favorite restaurant. I live more than 3 hours away and I can’t wait to go back.....
Back once again for a really delightful evening. From Leslie the hostess to our waiter Lee and our old friends Paul, Eric and Jamie service could not be better. Our dinner consisted of crab cocktails [which were superb] and two steaks. My wife had a Delmonico medium rare and I had my usual uncooked 10oz NY strip. Both were wonderful and mine melted in my mouth. Add in some creamed spinach and we were satisfied as always.
Just average at best and extremely overpriced for the level of food and service. Waiter never introduced himself and was accompanied by a young lady, who we assumed was in training but was also not introduced. Bread was cold and almost stale. $13 lettuce and tomato salad was just that... a small wedge of lettuce and slice of tomato. Oysters Rockefeller were a little heavy on garlic but good overall. My wife had the Delmonico and I had the bone in Rib eye. Both were ok but nothing special, especially for the price. I would not recommend NY Prime to my friends.
Fabulous find on Christmas Eve, when precious few quality restaurants were serving. After delightful service from Stefan, and the two best filets we have had anywhere in the world (yes, including Tokyo and Chicago), we returned twice more during our one week stay Myrtle Beach.
The M and MR Pittsburgh black and blue 8 ounce filet mignon, as well as the filet-in-ribeye were sealed and cooked to perfection: crusty hot on the outside and perfectly cooked and moist on the interior. The prime cut is apparent and we found nothing in the area that could compare in terms of quality.
The wedge was split in the kitchen for us, served ice cold on refrigerated plates, the blue cheese well prepared. Healthy vegetable choices are myriad and ample, but not wasteful as in many steakhouses. The raisin bread we found superior to the sourdough, and in terms of dessert, we had a difficult time saying "No." to the Apple-Walnut pie ala mode. Several delightful options, along with fine ports, coffees and wines, that can be corked and bagged.
We will now have to check out the other New York Primes to discern whether any can meet the high bar established by the Myrtle Beach team. Brilliant, delightful dining experience from Valet Parking to Valet pickup. Casual or dressy, the NY Prime provides everything you need for a delightful, memorable dining experience. Just bring your best self and savor a rare treat.
Food was fantastic as always. We were celebrating Christmas an Engagement, as noted in the reservation. Nothing was even mentioned about the engagement. Server was not good. Should not be working at NY Prime or needs more training.. The server did not know anything about the wine or the menu when we had questions. When he said he didn't know about our wine questions we suggested he ask someone who did know the information. He never even did that when requested. I have eaten at establishment at least 12 times over the past 3 years and by far this service was not good. I would go back to the restaurant but there is no way I would allow this server to wait on my table.
