New York Prime Steakhouse - Myrtle Beach Ratings and Reviews
The food and the service was excellent. I am a local and use too dine at NY prime on an average of 10 times per year. I now only dine on average twice a year. The reason for reducing my dining experience is due to the fact that they allow cigar smoking in the bar area. This past weekend I took my family out to dinner to celebrate an after thanksgiving celebration. My bill plus tip was over $500 dollars . I do not mind spending that type of money. However I was upset as a result of the cigar smoke . It destroyed the experience. When I looked to see who was smoking. It was two guys each with a bud lite. It does make business sense to me that the owner would discourage my type of business and encourage someone who is just drinking a beer. Needless to say. If cigar smoking does not bother you and you are looking for a great steak and great service I would highly recommend New York Prime.
I went here to celebrate my 40th birthday with my husband, 5 year old child and friends. Although they didn't have a kids menu that was fine because the food here was just amazing. I had the seabass and my husband had the filet mignon. Both were unbelievable!!!! Do not pass this place up. I'm surprised it wasn't rated higher on yelp because it was awesome, so happy we went. Best birthday dinner ever!
First time back at NY Prime since we headed back to Michigan in April. It was wonderful to see old friends Stefan, Eric, Paul and Jamie. Missed Darryl this trip. Food was superb as usual from the crab cocktail, the cream spinach, Delmonaco steak and my raw NY Strip steak. Drinks and wines ample and wonderful.
New York Prime is the best restaurant in Myrtle Beach. They have the highest quality food and the best service on the Grand Strand. Additionally, they provide Veterans with an opportunity to experience truly “fine dining “ at a Veterans Day celebration each year. I met with Vet friends who came from Myrtle Beach, New Jersey, Atlanta, Charlotte and Key West for Veterans Day this year. New York Prime was the highlight of that reunion.
Server was great, steak came out perfect, way too many arteries. When we asked for a new porterhouse for 2, they brought back only the sirloin side and it was rare and cold. I am not sure why a new porterhouse was not the replacement. Very cheap place for the amount of money that is spent. Ordered a 1oz shot of Louis XIII, $195 and he spilled it while pouring into the incorrect glass. Instead of giving me more in the correct glass, he lied and said this is the way it comes. After spending a normal $1000.00 per month there, after this experience I will never go back to this "5 star" restaurant. Ruth Chris and their tomahawk steak blows this place out of the water. ~An unhappy birthday boy!
Great, great food: Florida stone crab claws were in season, superb Italian chopped salad, perfectly prepared petite filet and bone-in 22 Oz ribeye, compact wine list with very good value and excellent range. Noise level was high, service was good but was lacking in comparison to high-roller regulars who received disproportionate attention. Staff did acknowledge Anniversary notation on Open Table original booking.
Food was good, but not great. The overall format of the place is rather dated, and the Sinatra music was loud and unoriginal. "New York" cliche, for sure. Portions "for the table" were really for two, not a larger group. I am not likely to return with all the other options around!
This is a very nice restaurant for date night or a special occasion. It’s very pricey, but you get what you pay for. The menu is al a cart so besides a steak or the sea bass you have to order your sides individually. If you and your date are not big eaters I suggest sharing a steak and two sides. The food was fantastic and so were their special pink martini’s.
