New York Prime Steakhouse - Boca Raton Ratings and Reviews
We have been coming to NY Prime since it was Alfredo’s 😘. Celebrated many Christmas dinners, Birthdays & every day dinning. Love Carlos, but all the servers are excellent. Great chop salad and tender tasty filet. Great while lobster & crab meat . Consistently very good!
Having been here before, this time was nothing short of disappointing.
The filet mignon the first time out had a lot of gristle.
It was sent back for another steak to be cooked medium and came back rare.
Once again it was sent back and it came back medium well.
The manager had a real bad attitude basically blaming us for the bad steak and said we complained in the past times we were there.
I had never met the man.
He does not have to worry anymore, we will not go back to complain!
It is the best steakhouse anywhere and it definitely beats the competition around it. Why? The food is totally delicious and the service (we had Doug) is outstanding. The steaks are cooked to perfection and save room for the best desserts- my favorite is the chocolate chip cookie as it is special. The lump crabmeat cocktail is a great appetizer. It is worth the drive and you will not be disappointed!
We were greeted and shown to a great booth table (no I am not a regular - never been there before). The waiter was excellent. We never wanted for a thing.
He happily split the salad for us. We had the large center cut filet and the shrimp cocktail (4 very large shirmps that were a meal in itself) with a baked potato (it was huge, over a pound) and the sauted mushrooms. Everything was great.
The steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. The mushrooms were a mix of portabello, crimini and some other variety. But really outstanding.
Since it was a special occassion they brought us a free desert at the end of the meal. They must make their own ice cream because it was unlike anything you could buy anywhere else.
It is not cheap but it is certainly on par price-wise with other similar restaurants.
At our table for three were mushrooms, spinach, a porterhouse, ribeye steaks, crispy bread, and a dirty martini fighting for attention. Almost stabbed myself with the fork going after it all. Got to take some home.
There's nothing like eating a 30-second microwaved slice of rare steak at 4 AM. New York Prime- the best place to eat the best steaks- oh- and take cheesecake home to have with coffee probably not as good as theirs.
This was my favorite place untill the other night. My ife ordered the salmon and wanted it cooked all the way through. They delivered her meal and the center of the fish was cool. It took some time to get our server, finally some one came said they would recook her meal and i didnt want to start my meal so adked that my steak be redone as well so we could eat our meals together.
The next thing i know we are asked to leave and i was told never to comeback and the police officer whos always there took my name and told me a no tresspass order is being filed. This is aftergoing there almost 18 years
Our server Lana was great. Our table was located by a server station but it wasnt too bad because it was near the live music. But our reservation was at 6 and at 7:15 they asked us to move tables because a standing reservation had arrived early and wanted their table. We were shocked but we did it. They brought a free dessert but as it settled in what had happened we didn't want it. They offered champagne because we were going to have some but they didnt offer the bottle we wanted so we declined. We hated our new table so we requested two seats at a very crowded bar and they came through. We moved to the bar and ordered the champagne we wanted and enjoyed the rest of the evening. They ended up giving us a gift card if we return. We will. The food is very good. Next time we will sit at the bar and have dinner like we normally do.
We were greeted at the door by very young, barely dressed “girls” who gave us the “once over” and determined we rated a table with someone’s baby stroller in our area. We asked if we could have a booth and were told it was reserved (no sign indicating that). Their food is ALWAYS good, however I am not impressed by their attitude. While we can afford to frequent the place, we will not. Interestingly, a few nights later, we ate at Truluck’s. We told them it was our anniversary and they could not have done more for us. At Truluck’s we arrived to our booth with a heart on the table made of rose pedals. The food and service was stellar. Truluck’s surprised us with a Baked Alaska for dessert. Lately, we have dined at Abe and Louie’s, Chops Lobster Bar and Cut. All have been gracious hosts. A friend told me that she had the same treatment when she ate at NY Prime. She said NY Prime treats only their regulars well. I guess I don’t have to worry about that. NY Prime is the LAST place I’d want to be a regular. They are past their “Prime”!
