Always great service here at the New York Grill and great food.
Good food! Over priced
The steaks were over cooked. We asked for medium rare and they came medium well. We were asked about the temperature before we tried them and the manager fled before we tried them and came back when we felt it was too late to send them back. The lobster bisque was extremely salty.
Awful service by our waitress. High price, not worth it. I’ve been to places where the prices are high but the service meets the price. Not this place.
Service was sub par. We had to continually ask for our server
The food and service was great! First time here and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Took forever to get seated, way overbooked! Had reservation for 8:25, didn’t get seated until past 9. That brought us down, but the food was good and service too.
I made reservation on Valentines day and when I arrived I had to wait 45 minutes for my table and then I had to sit in the bar area. Management did not provide any complimentary drinks or apology for waiting.
Valentine's evening, understaffed, disorganized. Will not return soon...
We went for Valentines Day and of course you know that would be the busiest day for a spot like this. So if your reservation was for 6:30, you’re being seated around 7:30. There were some angry people but the staff did a great job keeping their cool and did their best to be accommodating to the situation.
Now once we sat down, the service was excellent and the mac n’ cheese/lobster, GREAT !! I know their known for their steaks but I highly suggest trying the lamb.
Great spot and will be returning
Used to be one of my favorites. I don’t know if they were short on service personnel, but the waitress did not make this a worth-while experience. Did not properly take our drink order, after which we were never asked again in the entire 2 hours if we would like another drink. The menu was not described nor presented well, and lastly no request of whether we wanted dessert. Those were the major points with a whole lot of lack of attention to detail in between. One more piece of advise - purchase an espresso/cappuccino machine. I would expect to be able to order an espresso based drink at the end of my dinner at a restaurant of this supposed caliber.
I don’t think I will be coming back here.
The seafood was either over or under cooked. The rice was very very under done. The duck was ok.
This was the worst meal I’ve had in a long time. I truly regret bringing my clients here. The food was just so-so, the fish was overcooked and dry, served with boxed rice, over-cooked cauliflower, and a bowl of butter. I live in the San Francisco Bay area and I have paid less for a meal at five star restaurants. The market price for my clients steak and lobster was $120 just for his plate alone! Are you kidding? (Fleming’s is a better choice of you want to pay ridiculous prices for better food.) Remember, you are at the MALL. I do not recommend this rip-off place for anyone because the food is just not worth the price tag.
I have been coming here since 04 and I don’t know what happened but I came here a few months ago and something changed. The quality went down
We went for New Year’s Eve dinner. They didn’t do the count down but did provide hats and crowns. We were a little disappointed. The food was excellent but a bit pricey.
We had a great new years eve dinner. Top notch service. We will definitely recommend to everyone.
There are many components in making of a great restaurant and the Dock gets top marks in every aspect, but one and that's the food. However, it's not in the quality, or the preparation, which is excellant, but the excessive need to create overly complex and i guess is meant to be unique dishes. Many will read this and wonder, are not the great chefs creative and adventuresome. Why then the negativity? My feeling at the Dock, it's more about being different, than creating flavors and tastes that are special. In mundane terms, everything is over seasoned and the flavors don't always come together well. Why even the ubiquitos prawns appetizer , needed a host of seaonings, to hide what otherwise would be large tasty morsels, is an example of my experience . .. I never got the feeling the chef would stray from menu , which i would expect in a smaller upscale restaurant. For those who have discerning tastes this might not be the restaurant for you.
We came for Christmas Eve Dinner as we did the same last year. However, they did not have the Piano Player this year nor did they have any back ground Christmas music playing. Didn't seem they like made any extra effort this year for Christmas Eve. It was fine, but lacked that special something a person would want to see on Christmas Eve.
I requested a booth in the notes section. When the restaurant called the day of she confirmed the booth. When we got to the restaurant, no booth. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant next to a large, loud party. Will not be returning to this restaurant.
The food was substandard, The food was not as described. The facility itself was lovely,
Service was great as always... avoid the chicken at all costs. I want my money back.
I had noted this was for our anniversary. They placed me a table/partial booth in the bar area, close to elevators, sports on 3 screens with no romantic setting. When I asked about the main dining area, I was told that was for larger parties. Who wants to sit in the bar area for a special occasion? They killed the vibe. They didn’t seem to care about new patrons. The owner was hovering over guests he knew, which I find insulting. Walked by our table a few times but kept going. The service was mediocre at best. Not very attentive. Even the table next to us was a little peeved. The crab cakes were good, the salad was good, the Salmon Roulette was delicious. The halibut was like rubber. They had large parties that i feel impacted the overall experience, which should not be any excuse. You’ve been in business to long for this to occur. I may try it again, but I think an apology would go a long way.
The food was overpriced for what is was. My lobster was overcooked and dry.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food. Music was fantastic.
the service was terrible. there was one server. We ordered the Park Ave burger, it was suppose to come with homemade Thousand Island dressing. They didn't have any, The 1 slice of tomato that was cut with a razor blade. meat was dry. We went to the New York Grill to celebrate birthdays. I was there about 4 years ago, it was terrible then, it has gotten worse.
We will never go there again.
FOOD GOOD BUT AT THOSE PRICES SHOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT....
We had an early dinner so I was not suprised the place was about empty but I can't see it being very busy regardless of the time - it is way overpriced for the area and ambiance. The menu posted on line and the one in the resturaunt are not the same. Prices were about double and there was not as much of selection on the actual resturaunt version. We ended up leaving after being seated because it looked a bit rundown to justify $48 chicken or a $60 steak. We ended up at the Red Lobster and had a nice meal with steak and all you can eat Shrimp for less than the price of chicken dinner from NY Grill.
Food was very good. They accommodated us in a booth as requested for my wife's birthday, and provided a complimentary piece of tasty cheese cake. The portion of Veal Saltimbocca was very generous as well as delicious. The Filet Mignon was cooked to order, but could use a dollop of garlic mashed potatoes in addition the el dente vegetables.
Back in the day, NY Grill used to be THE place our family would celebrate special occasions such as anniversary and birthday dinners, as well as, Mother’s and Father’s Day brunches. They used to make you feel special on these occasions with their attention to detail and old school service. Unfortunately, this is all part of their past. We specifically included in our reservations that we were celebrating our 25th anniversary yet no one even acknowledged it. Not the hostess when we were greeted or especially even the wait staff throughout the evening. They could have redeemed themselves when we ordered our desert but missed that opportunity as well. The food is good but not great for what you are paying and they have removed the dinner specials. The decor is dated, as is the music in the lounge and the patrons are definitely an older crowd (we are in our early 50’s and most were older than we are). This will most likely be our last special occasion dinner at NY Grill. It wasn’t a bad evening or meal, just above average but for the $45 per seafood entree that we paid, we would expect much better food and service.
The service was superior and the food was excellent. Definitely worth recommending.
The service was great. The food was ok but definitely overpriced. The overall attitude of the place was pleasant
It was good and the server was also excellent place was cl an and lighting was also good it set the tone
I like the the service but the meal that I order was not as good of a taste that I expects
The worst food for the price we paid. The grilled lobster, scallops and shrimp was the worst seafood platter I tasted. For $38 I would have enjoyed a better plate at Red Lobster. I will not recommend this place to anybody.
New York Grill has never disappointed in the last 20 years we have been going.
The ambiance was very nice. A party in the banquet room seemed fun and the noise is separate from dining room. The bar area had live music (tasteful) and room for dining. We chose the back dining room to make conversation easier. The service was first class, the bar tender was excellent, the appetizers were delicious and huge. Usually a appetizer is relatively small and we both ordered one. They came on a diner size plate and were delicious...Stuffed mushrooms and Oysters Rockefeller . I would come here for drinks and appetizers believe me. The size of the appetizer was quite filling. Then came dinner. New York steak, garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. The steak was well prepared and presented and had a grilled flavor...good not great. Then the veal, mashed garlic potatoes that were yummy, vegetables cooked just right. The veal was tough and tasteless. I don't know how you manage that with veal but they did. The dessert tray was tempting and we shared some New York Cheese cake with coffee. Both were very, very good. With a cup large enough to enjoy with dessert. We enjoyed our evening but probably would not go back. There other places to try and all in all the dinner was a disappointment.
Great atmosphere, food, and service. Linda is the best!
good food and good service. Interior could use some updating, specifically the booths. We had a great date night, food was delicious and the restaurant wasn't too loud or busy. I would certainly recommend.
