We have been good guests of the New York Grill for good reason. The food is great, the service is very good. The greeting always seems to be just OK. That said - had another great time.
Usually you can get your meal and be out in less than 90 minutes. It took that just to get our entrees. While this was a business lunch, it took us almost 3 hours for the entire lunch.
For that part of town, we were disappointed in the quality of the food. The NY strip was tough for the price. The side dishes were small. Plus we were very surprised that our bill included an entertainment charge of $10! This should be provided free for their customers' enjoyment. The piano player was located in the bar area and we only stayed in that room for 5 minutes while they were preparing our table. We tipped her before we knew we were going to be charged for that. The martinis are a bit small for $17. That being said, the servers were very friendly and efficient.
It is a very nice restaurant. Servers were great and friendly. Very attentive to our drink needs and always asking if we were ok. The food tastes great, steaks were juicy and tasty. A little pricey but worth it.
Food was good, service average at best . Sparse lunch crowd which made slow service even more noticeable. Never hear of chicken noodle soup without noodles.
First time dining here. Knew it was pricey, but was a little surprised at some of the prices. $12.00 for a tiny cup of Au Gratin potatoes $14.00 for an Irish coffee. I got the lamb. It was good, but quite a bit of fat on it. Wasn’t cooked to my request and had to send back. No bread served...which seems cheap. Steak and lobster was $120. I think they are overpriced for what they offer.
Great place for a nice business lunch. Limited lunch menu, but it was all tasty.
The food was not as good as remembered and the service could have been a little better.
Food was wonderful and it was an enjoyable experience. Service was great.
Excellent service and excellent food. Chef Henry is superb.
Loved the food and service...I would totally recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. Went for our anniversary and loved it
As usual, the food was exceptional! We really enjoy our visits to NY Grill.
Great food and atmosphere
The entire staff was incredible
Service and food was excellent
Food and service was as expected, EXCELLENT! Their wine selection is also very good and priced fair.
Always an excellent meal. The service was wonderful
We were very disappointed to see that all of the dining rooms now have televisions. We have always thought of the New York Grill as a classy and more upscale restaurant, and they have cheapened it by adding TVs with sports channels. After all, it is not a sports bar but is supposed to be fine dining. Additionally, the restaurant was playing obnoxious music. Our server was kind enough to change it up for us and it was much better after that. The food was predictably good. Please loose the TV’s or you will loose customers who aren’t looking for a sports bar when going for a special occasion dining.
Fathers Day . The service was horrible and the food was over cooked . It’s been awhile since I ate there for that kind of money there is no reason and it wasn’t even busy . I will not go back !
We were there to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. From the reviews, it sounded like they did something special for events like that. I put it in the reservation, mentioned it as we arrived, and nothing. We had to have the bill fixed because a drink was ordered that was never delivered, but was on the bill and the whole meal took 2 hours.
Pricey considering the duct tape repairs on the carpet and small servings. Those who had steaks said they were good, but the vegetables were undercooked for some and overcooked for others. Disappointing since friends had raved about the restaurant. First visit for us and definitely the last.
I was able to speak with the General Manager who was very receptive to the criticisms that we had about our Father's Day dining experience. I conveyed that the service was the worst service that I could ever remember at a fine dining restaurant. This put a real damper on our evening and too away from our family's enjoyment.
Our server was just weird. No personality and very odd. He was real quiet. Once he walked up to our table, we expected him to say something but he just turned around and walked away without a word. Just like that. We just wondered how he got the job in a high end stead house. Also a brewed coffee curdled after the cream was added. The manager investigated and explained that they ran out of the creamer, so the server served the heavy whopping cream. We will not recommend NY Grill to friends or family. A pricey restaurant like this we naturally expect a pleasant server and perfect dishes, coffee, and dessert.
For the money...not very good...2 children and 3 adults...230 dollars and the food was nothing to write home about. Portions were small. The food quality was not worth the price. My daughter did not touch her mac cheese...my son did not like anything on the menu...the calamari he said was not any good. Personally, had to fill up on the bread and finish the kids meal fries to reach satiety. I am 155 pounds 5 10 male with a regular appetite. I know I will not be returning there anytime soon as the food is not making us return. We tend to return to restaurants where we liked the food and price is not really the factor. This restaurant was not worth the price and the food not worth a revisit.
Fancy place to have dinner at. A little pricey, but doesn't hurt once and a while. Great service though.
Everything was great food the live band was exceptional I can’t wait to return
The overall experience was very pleasant, I really enjoyed the live entertainment! The decor of the restaurant was elegant, also the bar is great, this was my first time there I would definitely come back!!!
Went to New York Grill with my husband for our 4th year anniversary. Raul was a great waiter very attentive and informative. The pianist was great and brought me to tears with how beautifully he played my husband’s and my song. Thank you for making our night so magical. Also the dirty vodka martini hit the spot.
Excelent food is great service
Service was slow as the restaurant was almost empty.
Expensive for what you get.
The food and service is always Fabulous for us! Always have great specials.
Very nice staff and the food was delicious! The staff were very friendly and made it a truly wonderful dining experience.
Beautiful, well maintained restaurant with a warm, rich ambiance. Yet, the excellent luncheon menu allows guests to enjoy delicious dishes at reasonable prices in an upscale environment. Food is fresh, well prepared and served promptly. Servers are friendly, attentive and make the experience enjoyable.
The restaurant was definitely over booked with a wedding banquet and other banquets as well. Was told that if we ordered a steak it was a 45 minute wait. With tickets to a show that made a steak impossible. Would have been better if the waiter would have said that when we were seated. The pasta was mushy and warm at best. Also had to sit outside because we were told other people booked specific tables?? Maybe it would be better when it’s not so busy.
Great server and catering manager Tisha. Thank you both. The only issue was the to go food order, it was packaged in substandard paper container, lots of leakage into the cheap plastic bags it was pack in. For an upscale restaurant, large to go food order such as mine should have been packed in a durable tote or perhaps a catering tote. The sauces left quite a mess and the pasta dishes soaked up the paper container and the food fell apart into my kitchen floor!!
One of my associate meal was significantly delayed, he ended up taking it to go. His complementary cheesecake was a nice gesture on their part for the oversight.
Thank you NY Grill for making my retirement luncheon a success.
Everything was really good but it seemed to take quite a while for our food to be served.
Both entrees had to be sent back and there were no credits offered by management. The food was good after being prepared properly, but their is usually some sort of comp.
Don’t mind paying $50 or more for steak, but not for cheap poorly cooked steak. Huge disappointment
Our service was horrible. Slow did not take our wine order until we were done eating. Did not clear table. Did not refill water. Asked for a wine decanter after he finally brought wine. Never came back. We served our own wine.
Great service. First round of steaks not prepared as ordered.
Overall a great experience and great service. My husband and I enjoyed our alone time together and the pianist was great.
Lamb was great. Cooked just right and very tender. Our server was very attentive. We did not have to call her once. She knew right away what we would need.
