   The food, service, and ambiance were excellent. We had a table by the window. The mixed drinks at $14.00 each (no specified brands) I thought were a bit pricey; however, they were well made. I would definitely to back.

   The service was wonderful. Attentive and courteous. The food was hit or miss. Not a great selection and some came out of the kitchen cold, others perfect. I had two reservations and wanted to try to seat them close together. I spoke with someone two evenings before and he said he made a note on the reservations and to check with the restaurant the morning of the reservation to reiterate the request. Hostess was short and brusque with me and said there was no note. I was left feeling as though I did something wrong, rather than a mistake was made and she would do her best to accommodate me.

   AVOID! The WORST place I have ever been. The quality for the price is absolutely shameful. We had a reservation, which we were on time for. No one was there to greet us, we waited 15 mins for someone to finally reassure we were going to be seated. The service is terrible ! Three different servers came to our table, there was so organization amongst the staff. The bread was stale, the steak was rubbery. AVOID at all costs.

   The thanksgiving meal was in a type of cafe area of the hotel... not what we expected at all... no special effort made for thanks giving at all. As is often the case Americans don’t understand starter first and try to shove all the food at you in one go! At one point my drink was whipped away... I didn’t ask for another drink but one came up, but my friends weren’t given a choice of extra! At the end our credit cards were taken away from us and were absent for about 10 mins... this is worrying as there is no need for that with portable machines. The meal was nice but overall very poor value for money

    Biggest issues were waiting for nearly 10 minutes to even talk to a staff member about being seated or our reservation and then while the food was good, service was extremely slow. All of this while the restaurant was not busy.

    Our meals were wonderful. Four of us ordered three different meals and they were all delicious. Everyone was satisfied and happy. Price was as expected for NYC. The staff was friendly and helpful. The peach sangria was over the top delicious.

    I rarely write reviews but: honestly, what a mess. I had an important lunch meeting with five participants. I called the restaurant ahead and spoke to the manager (also included a note on opentable) requesting a quiet spot as we had very little time. First we were seated at he perfect table but suddenly removed because a mistake was made and someone else had requested that table. Then we were moved to a table which clearly wasn’t ready so we stood around until the table was set. Ten minutes later I begged to have our order taken because I was concerned about time. Then, mid meeting, a server came to me as I was seated to talk about this mishap- blaming someone else and trying to chat about it. I had to point out that I was currently in the middle of a lunch meeting, could we discuss another time. He returned twice, interrupting the conversation again. Plates were removed before people had finished. Food arrived cold. The whole experience was absolutely surreal.

    The staff was attentive and friendly. The setting is nice with view views of 42nd street or the lobby. Breakfast was tasty. The breakfast burrito was huge.

    Quiet place to have a conversation at the Hyatt attached to Grand Central station. Extraordinary service and very good food. If you want to talk and listen to some one with good food and excellent wine in Grand Central this is the best choice. The food is as good if not better than the other resturants in the station. The lamb was excellent. They had many vegetarian choices such as a cauliflower steak. The staff was professional and dealt with a very high maintance guest with ease and grace. It was perfect

    I made a reservation for my 18th birthday here! As soon as I arrived the hostess wished me happy birthday and escorted me to my table in a private corner in the back. It was nicely set with a views of the city on all four corners. Overall, it definitely is an upscale classy restaurants with great eats and views! Totally worth the money.

    I had a morning business meeting with a senior executive staying at the hotel. He had just flown in form Asia overnight so the hotel restaurant was his choice. The executive was pressed for time and did not want to have breakfast, just coffee. The waiter scolded us for not having a meal, saying we do not accept people just for coffee. Excuse me, this is a hotel, and it is the hotel guest's prerogative to meet there. IT was very embarassing for me and the executive.

    Went here with some friends while on vacation in NYC celebrating 2 birthdays - 6 of us total. The ambiance is fun and has a glass wall looking out to the street. We were seated at a fantastic table with a partition from the rest of the restaurant. Our waiter, however, was terrible. Ignored our table completely. We had to flag him down for every order and to refill drinks and to get our check. I only gave 2 stars because they gave us 2 free birthday desserts because I mentioned it in our reservation. The food was excellent, a shame our server sullied the experience.

    Location is great, decor is fine. Food is meh, service was off, getting pushed to move off our 2 top lunch nothwithstanding the place was almost empty on a Friday at 2. Price is not terrible, but high for what you actually get. Main thing going for this place, and that is something, is the location is great to Grand Central.

    The service was very good and we had a nice view of 42nd St out the window. The specialty cocktails were underwhelming and the food was average. I had the one vegan option on the menu, the Beyond Burger, which in the realm of vegan burgers was the same thing that I can get from Whole Foods and cook at home. Disappointed at the creativity - could have done so much more...

    Our meal was a disaster. They had not received our reservation, which had noted that it was an anniversary dinner. I assumed that noting that fact would result in something pleasant like a free glass of champagne or a free dessert. In fact, NOTHING special was done to celebrate our special night. The waiters did not seem to know their job very well--the only time we were really helped was when we needed to choose a wine. A member of staff who knew all about the Riesling on the menu consulted with us. And the food was excellent. The mistake we made was to assume that you can go home again--the old saw is correct: you can't go home again! We last ate at the restaurant in the Hyatt at Grand Central 37 years ago, on our second wedding anniversary (we had honeymooned at the Hyatt Embarcadero Center in San Francisco). It was a delight, with tablecloths, carpeted floors, beautiful lighting--the perfect place for a romantic dinner--and it was quiet. Its present incarnation is the antithesis of romantic--noisy, hard-edged, rather ugly, at least in the eyes of ancient ones like us! And poorly lit. At our table, Ellen sat in a pool of light from an overhead spotlight. I sat in the dark. The little tea candle on the table-without-tablecloth was useless. I had to use the flashlight on my iPhone to see my meal! --Jack Mahon

    The interior of restaurant appears not to have been updated since the '90s. While the service was good, it was quite unpolished. The pork chop was VERY DRY and not at all tender. The burger was good, but no much can go wrong with a burger. The fries were tasty. For a restaurant in this location, the supply of draft beers should not be depleted. Ninety-nine + percent of the restaurants we choose from OpenTable are very good to excellent. This restaurant was a rare exception. Overall, it was not a memorable dining experience, one that we will not repeat.
