New Sheridan was recommended to us and we also checked review online. We were not disappointed. Service, food and atmosphere were all superb. It is a bit on the expensive side so I would recommend for special occasions.

Food was fine. Waiter had no personality, he was not engaging. Food was hurriedly placed in front of me with comment. Wait staff seemed in a hurry. Was not a slower, relaxed experience. I dined on 9/23/17 at 815pm. Hostess was great.

Great food but a bit pricy. The $58 bone-in ribeye was a bit much for the steak you actually got. Red wine was also high. The liquor store a block away was asking 65% less which should reflect the cost to get it to Telluride. I always figure 50% mark-up versus liquor store is more reasonsblr.
Overall, a good dinner experience.

I've been here three times and they never disappoint. Broad menu with lots of meat and fish choices. The salmon is always good, as is the french onion soup and the salads. Among the sides, I can recommend the grilled asparagus, Idaho potatoes, and the mac & cheese.

The service here is outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable about the restaurant and the area, and easy to find when you need them without ever being pushy.

The combination of the food, the service, and the lack of pretense that exists at a few other local restuarants makes this my favorite choice in Telluride.

We ordered seafood. The tower of seafood came was obviously frozen and defrosted. The oysters were not edible and the crab legs were too salty to eat. The shrimp on the top was actually quite good but that was the only thing we could eat on the tower, which was over $100. Also the service was quite slow, old plates were left on the table as well as empty drinks. We were very disappointed in the quality of the seaFood and the service. Maybe would be a better experience if we ordered some sort of steak dish. I guess we learned our lesson to not order seafood at the Sheridan chophouse.

My husband and I really enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Great food. All the tables were good but ours was by the window and it was fun people watching. We especially liked our waiter Travers, who was just the right amount of helpful, knowledgeable and unobtrusive. The bartender custom made my husbands drink (to his specifications) and adjusted it accordingly, resulting in a very happy husband! Pricy, but worth it.

Food is fantastic. The rooftop spectacular and has great service as does the dining area. The lower bar, however, has terrible service. The bartender was awful and argumentative when I stated that I wasn't satisfied with my martini. She was rude and said she would not fix it and refused to serve me. She then spoke to Parkley, her supervisor, and as the two flirted and looked at me, I decided to speak to Parkley as well. He apologized for her and offered free drinks. After 15 minutes of waiting for the drinks I went to find him. As I entered the dining area he disappeared to avoid me. I asked for the GM and spoke to Ray. He was very reasonable and offered free drinks and actually produced them. Stay away from the bar area adjacent to the dining area. Very rude and unprofessional. The young men that are the immediate supervisors are more interested in flirting with the staff than good customer service. I do recommend the dining area and rooftop bar. It's unfortunate they're attached to the separate bar. It really gives it a bad name.

The Chophouse is probably the best meal in the region.......and that's saying a lot! Telluride has some of the very best restaurants that we have ever visited but the Chophouse never fails to deliver.

I usually love this restaurant. Steak was over
cooked, potatoes tasted like they had been
cooked day before and warmed, fish was dry.
Appetizer shrimp was wonderful , and crab cake was just ok. Had I not had guests and such a nice waiter I would have complained. Really disappointed.

Our waiter was Devin and he was helpful with the menu selections and very attentive during the course of the meal without being intrusive. The food was wonderful and the service was superior. We had a deligtful meal, The Hudson Valley Fois Gras appetizer was excellent as was the pork roast dinner. Definitely a place worthy of many returns.

The absolute best place for a nice dinner. The steak and the salmon just melted in our mouths. The sauces were good enough to drink. Wine and beer was great from first sip to last. Wait staff is on point. Everything was top notch. I think it's the best meal I ever had.

New Sheridan is a fantastic restaurant and the best food in Telluride. We eat here every year on our wedding anniversary and love to bring friends to the rooftop bar and restaurant. It is a must see when you visit this town!

It took a few minutes to figure out who our server would actually be. At first it was one gentleman, then it was the manager, and then it was another server, who ended up being very good and named "MacKenzie." She was wonderful and very attentive.

Our food was generally quite good, but our entrees did not come out at the same time. My three companions got their entrees at the same time, but my elk loin dish came 20+ minutes later. To their credit, they immediately and without prompting credited us for the elk loin. The elk loin was actually only so-so (good but not great) and my wife's sirloin steak was good but parts of it were cooked past the medium+ that she had requested.

Despite all of the above, I would definitely give the New Sheridan Chophouse a try, as it is very professionally run, we've had very good experiences there previously, and I will definitely be returning.

We always stop when in Telluride. The food is consistently good with a wide range of options. This trip we had the lobster and octopus salad and the elk loin. Both were great. Prices are what you expect at any resort town. The only thing I found a bit strange was charging $7 for an 'artisan bread basket'. At a restaurant at this level I expect free bread or even a chefs amuse to start the experience off right.

The setting is lovely. It's a steak house so order steak or you will have a very average meal for a high price. The fish was dry and overcooked. The recommended sauce to accompany it wasn't very good. The side of brussel sprouts was over cooked in oil and presented in a small bowl. The soup was average as was the seafood salad. My best experience there has been to approach ordering as a family style experience. Order steak to share and sides. The setting is great and very authentic.

Our service was outstanding from our waiter Devin to Nick the restaurant manager. The mussels are a favorite starter of ours . We went surf & turf style so the Rocky Mountain Elk Short Loin & Pacific Halibut was a great choice especially paired with the Emeritus Pinot ! The meal was elegantly displayed and as always... delicious !! We shouldn't have but did make room for the crème brulee dessert- well worth it !! Thanks for making our dining experience with our friends a memorable one .
