New Sheridan Chop House Ratings and Reviews
We had two meals, breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was very good, all four of us enjoyed our dishes, but expensive.
Dinner was good but very expensive for what you got. The creme brûlée was barely four bites and cost $11, smallest one any of us had ever been served. Ceasar salad was blah. Bone in ribeye was very good but nothing came with it and $48 or $58? Wouldn't go back probably.
I was very disappointed in my experience there this time! I have dined here several times before and this time was TERRIBLE. Our server was nice but very un-attentive and we kept having to get the attention of other servers walking by for issues like - our salads came out wrong, we wanted some salt and pepper, we wanted some butter for the $7 bread basket that wasnt offered and came too late to make it enjoyable and because a bug flew into my wine glass. All that to say and then, I was charged 20% without being asked, which is not what the Sheridan usually does, and I had to ask for the wine to be taken off my bill and then I received a call from our server telling me the 20% that was added wasnt the correct 20% but from another table and that there would be an adjustment ot my bill for the correct 20% amount. I was so disappointed and frankly felt like to was a terrible experience in general!
We picked this restaurant simply based on the reviews. The quaint restaurant was definitely a good choice and the whole party agreeed!
We ordered the prime New York strip and it came with a roasted garlic. This was new to me and I decided to try it! It Was delicious! Service was abosutely superior! Definitely try it while you are in town!
I have eaten in most restaurants in telluride, both fine dining and casual, and this one is at the bottom. Our table Was in the bar which was objectionable to me and very noisy. I asked to be moved and the restaurant wouldn't do it The waiter was a bit indifferent. The food was good, but not great and extremely overpriced for the quality and presentation. All things considered, it has been years since I had such a disappointing dining experience.
Great steakhouse and some of the best food we have had in Telluride. The French onion soup was the best I have ever had anywhere. Great melted cheese top over fabulous bread crouton. Wedge salad was unique and tasty and steaks were huge and tender. A must try!!!
Guard your bankroll! My wife and I had a salad and a steak each, and two glasses of wine off of the by the glass list. Our bill was over $300. This is comparable to the top restaurants in New York City, with almost none of the sophistication. At that price point, it way under delivers.
They were extremely accommodating, setting a special table for us to accommodate my friend's injured knee. Service was excellent, food was delicious, and we found a gem on the very extensive wine list for a very reasonable price. Always ranks among our favorite spots in Telluride!
Oh my. The special occasion was dinner with my son. I've been to great steakhouses - Hall's in Charleston, Keene's and others in Manhattan - this was right up there. Excellent food. Beautiful dining room and bar. Had a table in the front window - great night.
Best meal in Telluride.
The atmosphere is trendy with a laid back feeling. The food is delightful with excellent service. We started with the jumbo cocktail shrimp and the crab legs, both were fabulous. For the main course we had the T-bone which was cooked to perfection and the portion was perfect for two. We also had the burger, which is the best burger we have ever eaten, and cooked to perfection, medium rare. Must give a shout out to the truffle fries, simply delicious.
The New Sheridan Chophouse is one of our favorite restaurants in the valley. The veal carpaccio is my favorite appetizer. I enjoyed the New York strip with bearnaise sauce on the side - their bearnaise is incredible and the quality of the year is incredible.
This restaurant has a lively atmosphere and is a Telluride tradition located right on W Colorado Ave in the heart of downtown.
Have dined here on numerous occasions over the years. Usually pretty consistently good food and excellent service. Ordered T-Bone steak, which unfortunately, although prepared properly, was rubbery and difficult to cut. Taste was fine, though. Probably more due to a bad cut of meat.
The New Sheridan was fantastic. My wife and I enjoy a good chop house and visit many when travel, and the New Sheridan was one of the best in recent memory. The menu is very straightforward and classic for a steak house, so do not expect anything new-age or fusion based. The cocktails we ordered were great, as were the appetizers. Main course (I had the rib-eye) was perfectly cooked and the sides were very tasty. Wine list was outstanding. Service was exceptional. No complaints.
We love going to the Chop House in Telluride. The service is always great-the food is always outstanding. We were there for my husband's 50th birthday dinner with friends and the staff there made it special. The sommelier had amazing wine recommendations and our waiter was really personable, with great food recommendations. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Chop House was excellent in every way! Our waitress was awesome! Took a group pic for us and we truly appreciated how attentive she was during our meal. The food was superb and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening! Best advice: if you want to experience the best there is in Telluride then make your reservation as early as possible! Couldn't have been more pleased with our choice in restaurants! Loved it!!
