Consistent with my experience over 30 years with Westside Chinese seafood restaurants, the food was hit and miss. Salt and pepper squid was very good, and the house special Dungeness crab was excellent. However, shrimp in garlic sauce was pedestrian and the "crispy duck" was anything but: it was deep fried yet soggy. I should have asked for some hoi sin sauce, which I used the next day at home and it made the duck much better. Service was friendly but very uneven. So, one's experience clearly will depend on the quality of the particular dishes one orders.
Highly recommend New Port Seafood restaurant for delicious cuisine. Very fresh ingredients prepared timely. This is a space that accommodates groups well. We had a good meal and the service was perfect.
Lobster is unusual and excellent. Likewise the Filet. Service was extraordinary - attentive and friendly. Not as busy as the San Gabriel location rendering it all the more pleasant.
Newport Seafood always is good for its House Special Lobster, Salt-and-Pepper Crab, Beef Loc Lac (French style) and Peasprouts (I still like them better than Peashoots). The steamed whole fish is great -- just do it with the simple way, so you get more diversity in the taste range. Likewise the breaded fish filet with basil is great good. But to order this much food requires a large group. The Beverly Hills restaurant is on Open Table and, thus, easier to accommodate with people on schedules.
Overpriced meals for a typical Chinese restaurant.
It was not difficult to find but difficult to park. It was a team lunch. The place was empty for lunch. The hostess was friendly and helpful. Our waitress was abysmal. Not helpful, bad attitude and unfriendly. Seriously, she was hands down the worst waitress in recent memory.
The food was good and the portion per price was very good. All that said I can't imagine returning because the waitress was that bad.
Great food. A bit salty.
Best Chinese food in the area. If you love Chinese food this is authentic and really good.
Food was delicious, especially the beef loc lac, and the service was outstanding
Always deliciously satisfying. A good value if you order
off the menu and do not get market priced items.
Excellent meal. Portion size too big to be able to finish it all
They were very accommodating to our baby, and service was excellent.
Food is very good, same quality if not better than the original one in San Gabriel.
Not crowded on Saturday Lunch and free parking along La Cienega . (Watch for Parking sign).
It is next door to Lawry's Prime Rib.
Take reservation, avoid waiting time.
Lobster was the bomb! Enjoyed their house special filet mignon-so tender!
Great place for dining out and having wonderful food
