Mexican | Central Business District, New Orleans

Johnny Sanchez was a great, authentic Mexican restaurant. It was the opposite of what many cheap knock-offs do, smother everything with cheese, etc. The food was fresh and creative. The fajitas were terrific and the margarita was a perfect compliment to them. The tacos were very good and I like how they were a la carte, so you could mix it up and have a variety. The decor was also a nice mix of Mexican art and modern fixtures. Great place. More

This spot has charming exterior and interiors creating an amazing ambiance. Perfect for bubbles of all kinds (their selection was no joke), but don’t skip the menu! The owner was kind and helpful in menu selection. Everything we ate was delicious- so nice we went BACK during our stay. Worth the Uber ride! More

Oak Oven Harahan
Oak Oven Harahan
Italian | Harahan, New Orleans

OAK OVEN is, first and foremost, a casual neighborhood restaurant dedicated to providing reasonably priced, high-end quality food, healthy meal options and impeccable service. The menu is heavily influenced by the Sicilian heritage of the restaurant’s founders. Their ancestors began arriving in New Orleans in the 1870’s and quickly melded into the fabric of the Crescent City. OAK OVEN’s award-winning fare celebrates this fusion of Sicilian, Italian and New Orleans culture. The restaurant centers around an authentic, Mugnaini wood-burning pizza oven and the famous, Neapolitan-style pies it produces. The ambiance created by the dancing flames inside the oven is both magical and primitive. The “from scratch” kitchen and unique, one-of-a-kind flavors transform dining at OAK OVEN into a divine experience.More

Discover New Orleans

French, Spanish and Creole influences evolved New Orleans cuisine into a genre all its own. Combine Gulf coast seafood, a butter-based sauce and Cajun spices, and you’re looking at a classic Nola dish. Take the famed crawfish boil, for instance, which locals advise is best eaten as a family. In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, the restaurant industry banded together to support their city in the wake of serious devastation. New restaurants began opening their doors, and today you’ll find a wealth of cuisines that span the classics to modern reinventions to everything in between.
