New Mill Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food, we have eaten here several times recently. This past night we were with friends celebrating the holidays. The New Mill was busy, the staff was friendly, attentive and polite. We all had the special Black Sea Bass, the fellows asked for a different vegetable, no cheese on the salad and the other asked for no potatoes but extra vegetables. No problem, very accommodating.
The decorations were festive but not over the top. We sat near a fireplace.
We try to get to New Mill at least twicw a year and one of those must be during the holidays when it is decorated for the winter holidays ... beautifully done! We ordered both off the menu and from their nightly specials .... none of our party was disapponted at all. In addition to the atmosphere and tasteful food, the service was delightful and met our needs perfectly ... great wait staff!!
Although we came on a Tuesday night, the place was packed. It was hard to find a parking space. Inside, we found a noisy, crowded atmosphere with tables so close to one another it was hard to walk through the rooms. Although our table was in a private alcove, it was off the bar, where people were drunkenly loud. My wife's steak was too fatty and she stopped eating after a few bites. My pork chop was tasty and I enjoyed the vegetable sides. We were celebrating an anniversary and hoped for a quieter atmosphere. Prices were on the high side. It was our first time at this restaurant, and it will also be our last.
Had our thanksgiving meal here.all in our party ordered turkey dinner .the turkey was tasteless, dry and overly salty as was the gravy. All of the accompanying sides were good especially the stuffing and rolls that were delicious...it's a shame that the turkey ruined our meal.our server joy was a delight and the atmosphere was very festive if not just a tiny bit too noisy...I would not recommend or ever come again because the turkey was the most important part of this meal and on that, the new mill failed miserably.( please advise your chef to not be so heavy handed with the salt.)
As always the service and venue was great. Unfortunately, I found bones in my cod and that was unpleasant and effected my enjoyment of the meal as a whole. It should be stated that this was the first negative occurrence I've had with my dinner preparation (I've dined here numerous times over the last several years). Historically, my experience with the menu and its preparation are fantastic.
This place has never disappointed us . Entrees and appetizers are consistently excellent. As far as I’m concerned consistency is is what makes a great restaurant. Anybody can make a great meal once in a while but to do it every time is what you want to look for. Staff has always been accommodating to any requests .I recommend reservations
Great place for a meal. Staff is very considerate and on top of all your needs. The atmosphere takes you away from the hustle and bustle and let’s you relax with great drinks and appetizers. All food is serv d piping hot and seasoned perfectly. Not only my first choice but my family’s.
We moved to North Carolina 8 years ago. Every time we return, we get together with our very best friends and go to The New Mill. It is the best. We've known David a long time as he worked for our son at Arby's when he first started out. He has always been a tireless worker and it shows.
Over priced entrees. Grouper is a an inexpensive fish. I should not have been charged $29.00 for a cheap small piece of fish. Waitress should also state the prices of the dinner specials. Located near a Murky green swamp that needs a clean up. I'll stick to my favorite W. Hartford restaurants.
