Pretty good sushi but depends on the chef - last time the rolls were falling apart... In Japan you'd send them back. Tasted good though. The chef is not trained in Japan and it shows.
Very disappointed, after having been here for lunch in the past. Seriously understaffed on a busy Saturday night. The slow, scattershot service service ruined the experience. The hard benches in the booth were uncomfortable and the noise level rules out table-wide conversation; you can only converse with those seated immediately next to you.
I totally enjoyed my experience a New Ginza. Very nice and clean place, friendly staff, beautiful presentation and excellent sushi! I'll be back.
Excellent sushi as always but as a weekend hot spot, New Ginza is clearly popular. It's great to see the range of couples, families and friend groups that have discovered this excellent Japanese restaurant.
Great food, fresh fish, and a family atmosphere. We love this place.
Not too impressed, funny it was a sushi restaurant but the only thing that can be remember from the experience was their hot stone beef.
Our reservation was for 4 but we had 5 in the end. The host was very helpful in accommodating us by finding a larger table in a very reasonable time. Food was good and so was the service.
I invited my friends out for a sushi dinner and New Ginza was the perfect spot. I reserved a table for 6 and it was ready when we got there. The sashimi pieces were thick and delicious. The rolls were served creatively and tasted divine. Thanks New Ginza for a delicious birthday dinner.
My boyfriend and I went there on a busy friday night. We made reservations for 7:30 but got there a little early. As a result we had to wait for a few minutes. During that time we saw a bunch of regulars come in--always a good sign. Overall, the service was great, the atmosphere was good and the sushi was yummy. We will certainly be back.
Have eaten here many times before and food is consistently good and service diligent
We make a reservation on Open Table at 6:30 for a 7pm table on a busy Saturday as they showed good availability. When we arrived, they did not have a table and had not checked the Open Table system which the hostess appeared to do on a cell phone. We started at the bar and were subsequently moved to a table for our main courses, but would suggest that if you are thinking of using this restaurant, you should call directly to confirm your reservation, rather than relying on Open Table
Food is consistently excellent and service always very friendly. Easy access and high quality neighborhood Japanese.
What a find! I was reluctant to tell you how amazing it is cause I don't want to share! Somerville had superlicious restaurants I can walk to but I'd drive here anytime.
This was my first visit to New Ginza. The service and food were very good. All dishes that we ordered arrived promptly and tasted wonderful. I had the salmon wrapped in foil. Sound bland? Not at all! It was perfectly seasoned and nicely firm to the bite, not flimsy or flaky. The broiled eggplant was divine; the sweet soybean sauce on it is really different from any other that I've tasted. It is a must try. The seaweed salad with sesame sauce was also very good.
The staff were so helpful and pleasant. We will definitely be back!
