We make a point of going to Nero's on our monthly casino outing. The food is usually great. Lately it has been so-so. They need to heat the plates. Both the soup and entrees came out warm at best. Desserts are a big disappointment. Also they use to have great specials but have not had any in months. We had a fantastic server named Donna. We get her every 3rd or 4th visit but have decided she is the best they have. Also skip the bread basket. It taste like a poor diner.
It was a madhouse - not enough servers or hosts, a new computer system had delays in billing leaving some frustrated, the food was very good but there were long delays for certain items and many stood in line for 15-20 minutes for waffles/crepes. Our last brunch was at Carusos at the Hilton years ago - which was excellent and included a far greater variety including items like lagostinas. We had made a reservation but still had to wait a half hour to be seated while others without reservations seemed to bully their way in.
Have attended Easter Brunch here for many years. It is always Fabulous Food, Service and View. I highly recommend their Sunday Brunch.
The service was awesome our waitress chia was so sweet and continued to keep the mimosas full! The crab legs were great and the shrimp was huge. The line for crepes was very long but worth the wait. The bananas fosters crepe were delicious! The selection of food options was overwhelming! I would deffinately recommend this especially for the great waterfront view!
The food and service was outstanding!!
Great variety of food... Delicious. Everything made fresh. Loved our brunch
Went for Easter brunch. Best brunch I have ever been to. Great food, service and attention to individual needs.
The quality of the food and presentation is unbeatable. Abundant breakfast choices; omelet station, eggs Benedict or "your way", waffles and crepes with any imaginable topping, the crispest bacon, and of course breakfast pastries, bagels, etc. Then beautiful U15 shrimp, raw oysters, Sushi - all the "Toro" you want, smoked salmon. Roasts including prime rib, lamb, lamb chops, ham, salmon topped with crab meat. Hot prepared dishes including tenderloin with blue cheese, various pasta choices, vegetables, and on --- and on. Finally abundant dessert selections --- coconut, chocolate and other layer cakes, bread pudding, cannolis, tarts, cheesecake, strawberries with "chocolate" dipping fountain. Oh --- did I mention the ocean view!
We had a great Easter brunch here. The food was great. There was a large assortment. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. My 3 kids loved all the Easter candy scattered throughout the buffet :) Very enjoyable.
This place is definitely the best restaurant in Atlantic city, by far!
Avoid the price fix menu. The choice was quite limited. One salad or one soup. That night the soup was "potato".
The filet minon was very good. However it was served with a slice of potato the size of a peanut. There was no garnishment
not even a piece of a vegetable. The cheese cake consisted of two mouth fulls (served two small pieces) on orange rind.
We ordered coffee which, of course, was extra. It was $120. We did not order liquor.
We have eaten at other price fixes, but this was really poor.
Hi we came down on a spur. Are thrilled that Nero's is now open. We had the pleasure of being served by CRYSTAL. She was filling in as a server on 4/14 and she made our dining experience at Nero's wonderful. She is not a normal server but we would not have known. I myself am a General Manager of a Restaurant and this type of employee is an asset to your staff. Crystal made sure everything was wonderful and it was.
I would highly recommend the food and atmosphere to other dinners. The servers are pretty good but not over the top.
GREAT MEAL, WONDERFUL WAITRESS 'SANDRA' WE LOVE IT AT THE CHOP HOUSE
at the prices charged it is not worth the time. the place overall is beautiful, the bar the tables overlooking the atlantic but is the best i can say about this restaurant. just fair service and the food was not worth the price paid. tried the pre-fix menu, my wife ordered salmon it was cold and dry,i ordered the short rib, we ordered a side home fries and it came after we finished eating, waiter could not be more apologetic but the damage was done. you would expect at the prices the restaurant food quality and service would reflect but it does not. this was the 8th or 9th time we have eaten here and the last two times have been bad, will not come back, and the place is so beauriful
We wanted a really good meal and ended up with mediocre. We were seated immediately at a table with a nice view and that's about it for positives. Our meals didn't arrive for an hour and we didn't have appetizers. We were never checked on to see how everything was and my filet was undercooked. I requested medium and I got medium rare. The steaks we ordered were bland. The mashed potatos pale in comparison to box potatos and the lobster tator tots were more like a potato cake with lobster in it. We flagged down a manager walking by and the only thing she did was get our waiter for us. Our waiter, Memo, then blamed everything on "his partner". He said his partner was supposed to be taking care of us. It was just unacceptable. Please avoid.
Nero's at one time was one of the best steakhouses in AC. I have dined there this past saturday and the food was absolutely terrible, the steak had ZERO taste...You should never have to add your own salt and pepper to your steak.,,,The menu was changed and you cound't find a ribeye or for that matter anything outside a filet or new york strip, As i frequelntly dine at Mortons, i was looking forward to a change, Nero's absolutely disappointed....I would recomend Mortons, pefect steak everytime
the food was subpar the view amazing. The beet salad with burrata cheese. beets tasted like they came from a pouch and the burrata cheese was tasteless. I had the salmon which was edible nothing to write about but when your paying that price you at least don't want to feel that you just ordered a piece of salmon from a deli for take out. the Mac n cheese was not Mac n cheese and don't expect it to be. they used trofie pasta cut which is not for mac n cheese (it's looks like a long cavatelli for those that don't know what that shape is) It tasted just like Alfredo sauce, Giovanna Rana brand to be exact. I did complain to the waiter who did nothing about it When you paying those prices better quality food should be used.
I sure hope management reads these reviews. If you do you should have the Sole all the time. Pricey ($59) but still fantastic. Cheaper to eat at Nero's than drink. Mixed drinks are double most places, kills the mood to gamble afterwards. Order the 'pig'. It is a great selection of cheeses etc. Also try and get Donna as your server. She was a lot of fun and really knew the menu.
Best dinner I've had in years. Everything from appetizers to dessert was perfect. Dreaming about the lobster. Will definitely spend many more occasions at Nero''s. Pricey but worth every penny!!!!
Food and cocktails were outstanding, one of the best in Atlantic City for steaks.
With the addition of AC Grill to the menu Nero's is the total picture for both steaks and seafood. Win win by my estimates. However, I ordered 2 HOUSE Cabernets and was billed $16.00 each. House wine @ $16.00. I would have ordered a bottle if I knew this was the price. BTW HOUSE wines were not listed on the menu or wine list. BEWARE!!!
My son took me here for my Birthday and we had a wonderful experience. Hostess was extraordinarily friendly and efficient, Wait staff was very attentive and the food was varied and well prepared. I would definitely return.
Excellebt sea fare prepared well...also the sushi and sashimi were top notch. We were so enamored with the dinner, we HAD to have dessert. Big mistake. Try the Commodore cocktail as an afterdinner drink instead!
Sat evening I thought I was going to celebrate my 50th at Neros by having a good dinner. I ordered a steak medium rare and it came medium well. while waiting for the steak my sides came which would have gotten cold by the time the steak came back. the sides were taken away while I waited for the next steak to come. I was in shock when I saw the next steak come out medium well again. At this point I had had enough. the young lady who was the manager was very nice. she invited me to come back the next day for brunch. I declined because I had other plans. Maybe the restaurant was too crowded and the chef just got confused. I will say one thing, you only turn 50 once I will never forget that experience!!!!!
Nero's is my favorite restarurant in all of Atlantic City. My food was excellent--Fernando, my waiter, did a great job. I actually liked it better before they had all the fishy stuff---but it is still a great place.
My husband and I dined at Nero's on Sunday night and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our evening! From the friendly, courteous hostess who made sure we got a table by the window to our delightful server (I believe his name was Robert) to the thoughtful servers who made sure our water glasses were filled and our table cleared, we were treated like welcome guests. The food, as always, was delicious; and the ambiance of this beautiful restaurant is perfect. I was worried when I heard Caesar's was changing the Atlantic Grill and calling it Nero's, but it has remained the wonderful restaurant it has always been. I can't wait to come back to Nero's next time I'm at Caesar's. I also LOVED the Australian Chardonnay!
If you enjoy Brunch, this is the place for you. Starting with incredible Bloody Marys and Mimosas, then the choice is yours, fresh clams, oysters, shrimp, crab, sushi, carving station, with prime rib, oven roasted salmon and my favorite, rack of lamb cooked to perfection. Omelets, waffles and crepes made to order with your choice of topping are what dream are made of. From the hot serving table, another of my favorites is seafood Fra Diablo and sliced Filet mignon. Fresh fruit and salads and if you still not full a bountiful array of scrumptious desserts await you. Enjoy, I also do.
The reviews are correct. The new menu is outstanding. Service with our server, Donna, great. Someone really dropped the ball on what use to be the best bread basket in Atlantic City. It taste like rolls out of a supermarket plastic bag. Otherwise perfect!
Had to wait 30 minutes beyond reservation time. They were "running behind" not sure what they means. Food was average and overpriced. Restaurant looks nice with great views.
The food was great. Extended restaurant week so I ordered the trio: short ribs, scallops, and shrimp. Delicious. Service was slower than expected but, that is part of fine dining. They don't rush you. Also, my order was delivered late so my party was done eating by the time I got my meal. What the online reservation does not specify is that if you want to sit by a window to enjoy the view, you must state so when you make your reservations.
We were at the restaurant an hour and fifteen minutes after we ordered without getting any food. Our waiter never came back to check on us in that entire time. We had to hunt the waiter down in order to get another round of drinks. We also inquired as to what the hold up was on our food and the waiter blamed it on the kitchen but couldn't seem to find the manager to rectify the situation. We had completely given up on getting any food out of Nero's and had decided to leave when our waiter brought two meals to the table. My order was completely incorrect. I had ordered tuna and they brought me swordfish. My boyfriend's steak was substantially overcooked. At that point we left without eating. We will never go back.
It was a very enjoyable and delicious dinner.
Went for restaurant week with four friends. I went with the chopped salad, filet mignon, and creme brulee. The salad and creme brulee were both very good. The filet... not so much. Tasted fine, but was very small. I was also quite disappointed that it was ordered "medium" but was delivered well done. Great restaurants don't make simple mistakes like overcooking a steak by two levels of doneness. Nero's has a great view of the ocean, and we did enjoy that.
My husband and I had dinner at Nero's on a Friday night. We shared the roasted beet salad, with macadamia nuts and raspberry vinaigrette dressing, it was one of the best salad I've ever had. His 8 oz filet was very tender and my 3 lb Maine lobster was fresh and grilled to perfection. Fernando's service was impeccable; he also gave us a tour of the kitchen and made us feel very welcome. We're definitely coming back and next time I'll try the langoustine and desserts!
Food and service was fantastic. Took customers there and made a great impression. I will definitely be back!
Food is very good, portions on most things are good. Some items are a little pricey.
We had a wonderful dinner, great food and spectacular views.
You can definitely tell the difference of quality during restaurant week. I've eaten better stake at longhorns. My steaks was over cooked twice! You can definitely tell a difference in service as well!
Had eaten here before & thought I knew what to expect. What a difference. 1st problem was I ordered zinfandel, & was served white zinfandel. 2nd we ordered same appetizer yet what came out looked like 2 different dishes due to portion size being noticeably different. We both ordered the same entrée, & again 2 noticeably different sizes. Waiter brought us regular knives instead of steak knives his assistant fixed this. While I couldn't care less, it's a noticeable gap in attention to details. Finally, I asked for an after dinner drink list, & specified port wines due to the prior issue. Instead I was brought one glass (WTF?!), wine was poured, and I was encouraged to chug it, so the waiter could pour a 2nd glass.
Four of us went to Nero's for AC Restaurant Week. We were seated right away, but out table was next to the sushi bar. I didn't care for the smell of fish throughout our meal. Service was good even though our waiter's didn't have a good command of the English language, and we were given regular menus and only 2 Special Restaurant Week menus. Food was very good, but my filet, although it was perfectly cooked, could have been a little more tender. We're glad we went, but probably won't go back.
