Nero’s Italian Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Every thing was good until we had dessert. My sister in law found a bug on her plate. She has her food handlers license and was not happy The y comp us 2 people but the we’re not very professional about it. The manager asked is were we think the Bug came from we responded How should we now
We unfortunately had a very costly, awful experience at Nero's. We made a reservation for 7 people, and when we arrived, they seated us at a table for four, with two end seats and one seat squashed between two seats on one side of the table. It was very, very tight. It was my dads birthday dinner, and he WANTED to come here, and he couldn't even order what he wanted because the "special" that was read to us, was sold out. Apparently they only had two, and ironically enough, the two were ordered by two people in my party. What irritated me most about this, was how it was handled and delivered. Mind you it was a Friday Night, at 8:30. Not like we were there on a random Tuesday. When I approached Betty, who I recognized from the article written on "Bettys Back Room" the restaurant associated with Nero's, she seemed hesitant to help me with my request. As if I was asking for it for FREE. She told me to have him switch with someone else who ordered it at the table. Which sounds reasonable, but I know my father. He will do without before he takes from someone. My dad would NEVER ask someone to trade orders with him, even if they offered. Then things got really interesting when I noticed Betty, and another manager speaking about my table. I actually read their lips and they were talking smack on us. This restaurant was FAR from busy. You would think they would be more accommodating since most of the staff was just standing around with nothing to do. My father picked something else, and ordered the steak medium, and it came out well. Again, he didn't say anything, but he also didn't eat it. My lamb chops were also done well, I ordered medium too. I just wanted to leave, and have some drinks with my family. When your sitting down at a high end restaurant, there is just an expectation level. Sure, charge me $65 for a steak, but you best be sure that steak is worth every dollar of that $65! Our bill was close to $1,000 and it wasn't worth $500.
A fantastic brunch experience by far. Our initial server contact never brought my husband's cola, but I received many refills on my champagne/mimosas. There was a bloody mary bar, and prime rib, oysters on the half shell, shrimp, sushi, and caviar! Plus breakfast and lunch fare of a more ordinary variety. The construct-your-own crepe or waffle station was wonderful, as well as the dessert smorgasbord. I'm not made of money, so I couldn't do the Sunday brunch at Nero's regularly, but it was well worth the money and the view was great! If we return to Atlantic City, we would definitely go again!
We went for brunch. The diners were better dressed and more polite than our last dinner there. Beautiful day, overlooking the boardwalk. The food was very good. Sushi rolls, shrimp and cold crab legs. (The people at the next table were brought a mound of crab served hot with garlic. We were almost done when that happened. Wish I knew to ask!) Bits of caviar on toast were a nice touch. The salmon was good. Too much carved meat. The waffle and crepe station was perfect. Many tasty fruits and fillings. Nice to see small pastries, half size donuts were good. The bagels were small and hard. Desserts were a mix of nice brunch treats and things generally served on the regular buffet. The chocolate fountain was a nice touch, could use some marshmallows, pretzel sticks or something. It was served with the same fruit as on the salad table. Two goodies were filled with too sweet, squishy liquid, small chocolate balls and tiny caramel tarts. People seemed to be enjoying the bloody mary's. One last thing. At $65 per person, put the California Natural Orange juice in a pitcher rather than leaving the cartons out for the customers to see.
My husband and i went to Nero's for a Saturday night dinner. The restaurant was packed. We ordered a salad and the sea bass. Both were excellent. The bread basket includes a flat bread that is delicious. For dessert, we shared a tiramisu that included some blueberries. Not quite what I expected but very tasty. We ended with espresso for me and cappuccino for him. As requested, they had the decaf for him. He also wanted an Italian Margarita, which the bartender was able to provide. Our waiter, Tony, was excellent. Very present and friendly. Nero's has been consistently above average both for dinner and for brunch.
This diner was a disaster!!! We had a reservation and waited an hour to be seated in the main dining room. The hostess sat us next to the only other people in the room, inches apart.
Luckily the waitress moved us to a cozy booth. She was extremely nice and gave great service. Appetizers were fine-eggplant and clams. We both got veal Milense for diner, and we both received undercooked soggy breading on our veal with scant amounts of arugula and cherry tomatoes on top.
It was very disappointing. Nero's was a great restaurant 5 years ago, but has gone downhill.
The food was delicious, but the service needed much improvement. My group had a 6:30 reservation which we arrived on time for and were seated immediately. We ordered appetizers which came out timely, however the main course did not come out until 8:45!! There must have been some sort of an issue in the kitchen because none of the other guests were being served either, however no one came out to say anything about the delay.
Great view and great presentation of food (Jan 7th). However, by 1pm much of the brunch food was stale. Outstanding crepe bar. Unfortunately the service was so poor (ignored the entire time, needed to get up and find coffee twice; wait staff seemed to be having their own party elsewhere) that it ruined the occasion for us. Not remotely worth the sky high price.
Amazing Sunday brunch! Selection is incredibly vast, with insanely delicious salmon w/ crab topping, lamb chops, prime rib, crab legs, sushi, everything breakfast-related custom made to order, bottomless champagne, desserts, etc. all for just $65 (including tax!).
I was so very disappointed in my meal. First, the cesear salad was just fair. My lobster tail was good but just luke warm. My steak fries were almost cold....(I saw another table send back their food that needed to be reheated. I asked for ketsup (I am a ketsup freak and the Heinz bottle definitely did not contain Heinz...some other brand probably refilled). Lastly, the white wine was $19.00 a glass....seriously????? I won't be going back to Nero's again. Very expensive and definitely overpriced...
One of Caesars upscale dining optons accessed by a stairway near the Diamond Club, Nero's
offers a good selection of wine and spirits along with a top notch variety of steaks. I had a filet that was cooked to perfection and an a la carte potatoe selection that was large enough for two.
The salmon filet was also done perfectly. Seasoning and flavor were exceptional. Cocktails
were spot on and flavored perfectly. Nice background music and a perfectly orchestrated wait staff finished out a terrific meal. Highly recomended for a special occasion or just a perfect meal.
Nero's is always a delight. While I'm not particularly in love with their dinner menu their brunch is fabulous. Many hot delectables to choose from while your eyes feast on the amazing views of the Atlantic. General Manager Betty is always there to greet you with open arms and a warm smile.
Hostess was a bit overwhelmed and somewhat curt! After long wait for table, sat for more than 10 minutes before being addressed by server. Once he took our orders the salads were promptly delivered but then he disappeared. Finally a runner delivered our entrees but first had to remove our salad plates in addition my table knife without providing a steak knife. Tables were too close to one another and busy wait staff kept bumping into my seat during our dinner. Most attention given too high rollers with Casino hosts visiting tables. Been here 5 or 6 times preciously and this is the only anomaly. However, at the prices I’m out!
We had a group of 7 people and our table was ready for us when we arrived. The food was very good and the service was exceptional. Donna was our server and she made the dining experience great. Personable, friendly and quick. We dine at Nero's all the time and love it.
Disappointing based on expectations. Nero's always had a very highly regarded reputation with supporting advertising.
We had abread basket which was very good as well as the wedge house blue cheese salad. Clams were fresh and well presented. I had the Porterhouse which really was a T bone, meaning not equal portions of Strip and Filet. My wife had the veal chop, nicely buttertflied with peppers and onions, but abit too greasy. Desert was fine with a lemon cheesecake.
My displeasure is for this restaurants pricing, food should be a level higher rather than just mediocre.
There are two dining areas. The bar and an enclosed restaurant. When I made my reservation, I asked to not be seated in the bar. Turns out the restaurant area was closed. Nobody bothered to call or email when putting my reservation in the system. My information is readily accessible. I would have gone to a different restaurant. It was not the hostess' fault, but she had no remedy or explanation. Did her best to give us a table on the far side. I hate going to an expensive restaurant and being served next to a bar with glaring televisions reflected in the glass windows. There was nobody at the bar, they could have turned them off at dinner time. Service was good, staff pleasant. Our food was good. I had lobster francaise, my husband halibut. The best part of diner was the souffle. Can't dislike a restaurant with good souffles. Note: Some of the other customers had no clue they were in a nice place. Example - The man at the next table was wearing very casual sweatpants and sneakers, slumped back in his chair. He and his family ordered a lot of food they did not eat. On cell phones the whole time. Perhaps he felt casual, eating in a bar. This was not an upscale dining experience, no matter what the prices said or how nice the servers were.
Wonderful Steaks. Great creamed spinach. It was a special night for us and Nero's really didn't disappoint. The waiter forgot my second drink, but his assistant was really on top of her game. Really can't say enough about the steaks. Cooked to perfection and very large. The Prime Rib, my wife had, looked absolutely fantastic. It was enough for two (if you both like it cooked the same). The gem of the meal was the creamed spinach. Creamy and tasty and topped with Parmesan cheese, it was just special. The Zeppoli's were a little disappointing. The wedge salad didn't live up to what I'm used to. BUT, this restaurant is great.
Don’t waste your time on Nero’s. We had a reservation for dinner and showed up on time, but we weren’t seated until 45 minutes later. Barely any apologies or explanation from hostess staff. Our waiter was lovely but the food was pretty disappointing. Steaks overcooked and not much flavor. Very overpriced for what you get. Will not return.
THE 28 OUNCE PRIME RIB LOOKS LIKE A FRED FLINTSTONES SLAB- enormous cut of meat! IT COULD FEED A FAMILY OF FOUR!! Great dinner and dining experience. Wait staff did a good job. I ordered the 10 ounce fillet with crab and asparagus - this was delicious as well! We started with the chopped salad and the Cesar salad, added squash and brocolli rabbe as veggies to our steaks and for desert we had the dark chocolate souffle served with creme Englais and fresh berries and the donuts with three dipping sauces. The entire meal was fantastic and i loved all of it!! i would love to go back again next year to kick off the holiday season. It was a completely decadent meal that tallied up to a small fortune - well over $300 with tip for the two of us!! (food and 2 club sodas- no alcohol.)
