About Nero's Grille
Now celebrating its 40th year, Nero"s Grille continues to be one of north-Jersey's most popular dining scenes. We combine the highest quality, freshest ingredients with a comfortable, familiar atmosphere and service that makes you feel like one of the family. Nero's has become the area's place to see and be seen. Three separate dining rooms, and outdoor patio dining as climate permits, provide a warm, unpretentious intimacy in which to enjoy our high-quality, moderately-priced American and Italian fare, while the large bar area buzzes with the energy of friends gathering over a favorite martini or a glass of wine from Nero's award-winning list. Private rooms are also available, and our banquet staff is noted for making special events 'extra special.' After four decades, the entire Nero's family continues to take enormous pride in offering our guests, new and old, a gracious welcome, a terrific meal, and our sincere appreciation.

Nero's Grille Ratings and Reviews
We love Nero's, a local restaurant offering quality food and generous portions. We can always feel relaxed and away from home even being less then a mile away! It's social, the staff friendly and we always bump into friends while dining which makes it fun! They have great seafood and steak too for those that prefer meat. My favorites are shrimp cocktail, mussels when in season, and tuna tartar when offered on specials. The market fish of the day and the grilled salmon are both delicious and don't forget to order a sweet potato that's been cooked for hours!! Special desserts include a huge carrot cake, chocolate cake and ice cream sundae. Nero's has a lot to offer and is upscale and also very convenient for us! We are lucky to have such a great neighborhood gem that has been around through the test of time.
I have been to Nero's a number of times and usually am pleased. On our last visit I can not say the same. My nephew and I both had Chicken Parmesan. Sorry to say it was rather tasteless. The sauce was bland and so was the chicken. Our other guest had a burger which was satisfactory.
As I said we have had gatherings here before and lunch and dinner. I will probably go back because everyone can have a bad night.
Nero's is our favorite go-to restaurant for a great meal. Whether it's a special occasion, a night with good friends, or just an excuse to get out of the house, Nero's offers a selection of superbly cooked meals, to satisfy any palate. From steaks, to seafood, to Italian, everything is done to perfection with special touches to complete the experience. They also have nightly, early-bird and seasonal specials, so there is always something different. The atmosphere is upscale, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the prices are moderate. We get out a lot and I honestly don't know where you could do better. We're just glad they're close! Everyone at Nero's is great, but I have to make a special shout out to someone I've never met; their saucier chef (or whoever does their sauces and gravies) is among the best I've experienced. The depth and richness of these finishing touches is artful. Try the cavatelli and short ribs - five words: truffle oil drizzle & balsamic reduction! Yum!
The service is excellent. You are made to feel like family by the hostess and the wait staff. The wait staff is also knowledgable about the menu selections, and they are prepared to make recommendations for those who can't make up their mind. The Chefs are excellent, and if you like Steak as I do, you are in for a treat.
This was our first Nero experience. It was, according to staff, exceptionally busy. The noise level made it very uncomfortable, as we were not able to hear our own conversations. The food was not exceptional to compensate for the loud volume. Since we are leaving the area, we will not be returning.
Needs a major make over
Average age of the patrons was north of 60. Menu has not been updated & is probably as old as the patron's.
Their specialty burger was high on cost and low on flavor. I would recommend going with normal burger on the menu, at least it is less expensive.
Best suggestion to the owner reduce choices so the can make a few thing good instead of what they are doing, offering a lot of things that are not good.
Food quality was inconsistent. The swordfish was good, but the cavatelli and short ribs were so overly salted to be almost inedible. Chopped salad was tasty, but Caesar salad was generic and way over dressed. The candy bar sundae was amazing, and the key lime pie was also tasty, but served far too cold. Service was okay, but waiter copped a sarcastic attitude the entire meal, and then pressured us to leave as we are one of the last people left in the restaurant on a Sunday night. Ambiance was fine, but dull and uninspiring. Never planning to go back.
Our first time there. I had the caprese salad and crab cakes. They were both amazing & the plates looked beautiful when presented. My husband had the split pes soup and chicken parmagina for dinner. We both loved it. Decor is dated but overall great place.
The entire experience was excellent. My wife and I were treated very warmly from the parking lot, where they offer valet parking, to the person who greeted us at the door, to the bar and wait staff. The manager's friendly greetings were the icing on the cake. The food was very good and served hot.
What really set this restaurant apart from other top restaurants are two things: Friendly and engaging staff and the attention to the little things. Everyone remembered our names and were very prompt with service. They noticed my wife was rubbing her arms because she was a bit cold and they turned up the air a tad to help warm her up.
The versatility of the room made it conducive for couples as well as small celebratory groups. I plan to make this a routine spot for my date nights and will share with all my friends.
Multiple time repeat customer. Food is always good, maybe very good, but not great. Pricey for what it is. Lobster roll for $21 was a 3-4 biter. Just not a lot there with a small portion of cole slaw as the side. But very tasty. Excellent neighborhood spot.
Our server was great. She had a very pleasant personality and she gave us time to talk, have a drink and review the menu before taking our orders. The food was very good and nicely presented; especially the "stack" appetizer. I have been to this restaurant for lunch and for dinner and had an enjoyable experience on both occasions.
