Very comfortable restaurant! Zucchini chips… To die for! My steak… One of the best ever! Cooked perfectly! Walnut cake… Delicious!
I mistakenly reviewed another restaurant instead of NERAI earlier! 🙄
NERAI serves delicious upscale Greek food in a contemporary setting. We opted for the four course prix fixe menu which includes: an orektiko (starter),
zymariko (pasta), kyrios (main) , and an
For starters, we ordered the tuna tartare and a grilled octopus with caramelized onions and roasted red peppers!
The octopus was grilled sooo perfectly!
We got the seafood orzotto and the Maine lobster with squid-ink linguini that were both so amazing that we devoured it before taking photos of our pasta dishes!
For our main dishes, we chose the dover sole that was so tender and pan-seared with a buttery, lemony sauce AND
the duck breast over lentils! Both were sooo delicious that you would think we were possessed...our eyes kept rolling up with every bite!!!
And the desserts...! Mmmmm!
Service was very attentive and polite! Would definitively book a reservation here on our next visit to NYC!
Wonderful cocktails, deep wine list with great guidance provided in choosing a special birthday wine, incredible service. Perfect for special occasion meal.
Nerai is outstanding as usual. Great food and amazing service. Will definitely come back again!
Service was really terrific!
Always outstanding in every way! There are so many restaurant choices in nyc but I always return to Nerai!
One of the best restaurants I’ve eaten in. Not only was the food great, the ambience was fantastic. I felt like I was in Europe - a very authentic feel.
Add to that a sommelier who knew his wines fantastically well - he selected a wine for me I’d never have found without his help and it was exactly to my taste. Wonderful understanding of my palate after only a few minutes of discussion.
A thoroughly recommended dining place; first class!
Really nice restaurant with great service. Food was good. While zucchini chips were delicious, they were greasy and my husband's whole filet fish had so many bones it was almost inedible. Scallops main course was delicious as was the Greek salad appetizer and the trio of yogurts for desert.
Great restaurant with great food and excellent service!
No time to actually enjoy food because servers are busy trying to shuffle you out for the next business lunch. Entrees were mediocre. Raw bar is better.
The food was well prepared and delicious. The service was excellent. We are definitely adding this restaurant to our monthly rotation.
Way too expensive for what you get
We chose to dine at Nerai for convenience. It is right across the street from our favorite hotel in NYC, The Hotel Elysee. We were in the city to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary and added that information to our reservation. During our evening at Nerai, I believe every person affiliated with the restaurant wished us Happy Anniversary and they even gave us a lovely cake with Happy Anniversary written on the plate in chocolate. All in all, the service, the food and the whole evening could not have been better. We will be back!
The zucchini fritters seemed to have been fried in some really bad oil
I have to start saying that the quality of the food is great, good product and nice execution but both the food and the wine are clearly overpriced. There are other Upscale Greek restaurants in Manhattan that represent better value, a glass of Assyrtiko for $19 is out of the city standards. The service was correct but nothing remarkable, not memories to be made.
Must be better for lunch- dinner was over-priced and poorly served.
Very well prepared food with nice ambiance. The service was good as well. Place fills up quick so don’t be late to your reservation. Definitely recommend for very fresh seafood dishes.
Great spot for work lunches in midtown east.
Impressed by the whole dining experience. First time visiting this restaurant. I don’t think I’ve had better service anywhere. There were 4 of us and everyone raves about their dinner. We will visit again.
Everything was amazing! We loved the food and the wine. The service was attentive. Will definitely be going back.
The food was so good. Can’t wait to come back. But the price is definitely for a business meal ;)
All the food was delicious- the apps plentiful - greek salad best tomatoes !!!! Fresh fish cooked to perfection
Extensive wine list - varied price points -
Outstanding food, service, and ambiance. The loup de mare is amazing as are the zucchini chips
Expensive place meant for either special occasions or office dinner party . Service is excellent
This is one of the best Greek restaurants I have encountered. Superlative food in a great space with phenomenal service. The duck moussaka is more French in presentation but is outstanding.
excellent service. very good food. Worth the price.
Noticed this restaurant across the street from our hotel and it popped up on Open Table with a strong rating. We made a reservation and are glad we did. The food was amazing as was the ambience of the restaurant. We will make sure to visit again on our next trip to NY.
This is my personal favorite Greek restaurant in New York City. The food and atmosphere are excellent and the service is exceptional.
It’s so consistently good.
Waiter and support staff were terrific.
Great place. One of my favorites
Great food and service as always!
The quality of the food and the service were truly outstanding.
Had a very nice experience. Food and service were in point
Great food, good recommendations from waiter and bartender. Was quiet for a Thursday, but just the way I like it!
Noise level downstairs at 7:30 pm was extremely high. Our request to be moved away from the bar was honored but without pleasantness. Our food was cooked promptly and well, but even with only shared appetizers and main courses the bill was $100 each, including two glasses of wine. So this restaurant doesn’t provide sufficient value for me.
Excellent midtown lunch or dinner Greek option. they put a twist on the traditional dishes and the wait staff is top notch.
Celebrated my father’s 70th birthday at Nerai and the experience was sheer perfection. The service was stellar and the dinner was one we won’t forget. I had a fantastic seafood orzotto and he had the filet mignon and we shared pitas and spreads along with spanikopita and Greek meatballs which were cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend this restaurant especially for any occasion where you’re looking to impress someone in nyc
Extremely expensive and very mediocre food.
Worst service, especially on pushing bottled water.
This is a wonderful Greek restaurant. It has a hip vibe, but the cuisine is ethnically consistent and wonderfully prepared. I had the best lamb I have eaten in years this past visit. Everything was good. The service was crisp, and the staff very warm and welcoming.
Amazing experience we celebrated my dad’s birthday
