Dinner: Daily: 5:00pm - 12:00am
35-39 East 61 Street between Madison Avenue & Park Avenue.
I made a booking for a quiet lunch with my husband for my 30th birthday. After ordering a bottle of champagne and 4 course meal the manager came over demanding that we move because our table could fit four people and we were just two.
When we explained it was my birthday and would prefer not to be moved mid-meal, he whined a series of excuses. The manager then came over 3 additional times to explain he still wanted us to move and if he decided to let us stay at the slightly larger table he would be doing us a huge favor and next time he was going to seat us in the back.
Eventually we left because we did not want to spend the whole meal being accosted about being seated at a table their waiter chose for us.
The fact we are repeat customers was discounted. And, with every meal at this restaurant costing $1000, you would think their staff could follow basic etiquette.
Expensive, but wore them it.
Never fails to impress with the quality of cuisine, mature service and refined hospitality. This is a dining experience for adults. Thankfully.
No guarda relación el costo con la calidad de la comida
I tried Nello's for the first time because I had passed it walking down Madison Avenue and found it's outdoor seating beckoning with a charming aspect. I was not disappointed. The interior is extremely attractive too not to say Romantic and the food seems very fresh and beautifully prepared. The chicken soup I ordered was the best I have found in NYC! My diet is quite restricted but the staff was extremely careful and creative in making sure I had some delicious options. The service started out rather stilted and unfriendly but improved in the course of the meal. Prices are hefty and the soup, though delicious, is VERY expensive. Also they only offer two choices of beers...sad for one who can't drink wine. Still...I plan to return.
Amazing Amazing Amazing
Very over-priced for slightly above average Italian food.
Stumbled on Nello last April and had the most delicious fish ever. Went back this weekend with my daughter and we both loved our meals--swordfish for her, veal for me. I will, though, recommend it for a special occasion as it is quite pricey.
Great euro scene. Drips of the moneyed upper east siders. Service is great- and food comes out quickly and consistently. Over half the patrons - probably closer to 80% are European- wealthy I suspect. The only draw back is it’s expensive $$$
Oppulent surroundings and beautiful ! The floral arrangements were out of this world! I went downstairs and saw the gorgous private room with all the surrounding gold, marble, and wine cellar. I want my birthday dinner there! The food was scrumptious and the service was impeccable. Loved it!
Surprised and disappointed. We were looking forward to the much-praised table-side Caesar salad, which arrived bland from the kitchen. Waiter mixed up our drink order twice, but at least we were only charged for the first round. The food was unimpressive, bland and seemingly prepared without any care for seasoning. In fairness, we were there on a Monday night, so perhaps the regular kitchen staff was not working. To top it off, we were brought the wrong coats. What? With entrees $65 to $75 (or into 3 figures for truffles) this felt like this Emperor had no clothes.
Delightful lunch with friends. We chose this restaurant for bringing good memories of previous trips. We live in São Paulo, Brazil, and we will be back in the next opportunity. Very good food and gentile service!!!
Very attentive staff and beautiful ambiance but extremely overpriced and food was a bit bland.
The worst restaurant experience for many years. I booked Nello when I had a good experience 10 years earlier..This time it was a parody of serving Italian food you can get 70% cheaper on all Italian restuarants..The servers were arrogant and stood in the way for eachother and let you understand that they were more important than you. When I ordered a wine for $ 150..the cheapest on the wine list, the balded waiter thankfully lost the interest ... but always tried to pour more wine into the glass so maybe we could have 1 bottle more. There were few guests. We arrived at 9pm and left the place at 10pm when they started turning off the lighting, as it was a theater ... and indeed it was actually ... The location is good and the decor may be charming but the mentality and respect for the customer have left the place ... forever forever ... and i have too. Do not be fooled by this restaurant. ,,, total yesterday
Nello has become our go to restaurant for a delightful Saturday afternoon lunch. The service is excellent and the food consistently delicious. It is simply beautiful with extensive floral arrangements. Very romantic. It is pricey but you feel it worth it because of the experience. I have enjoyed their pasta dishes and their Veal. The bread basket is yummy. My friend enjoys their Dover sole and salmon. They offer a decadent pasta with truffles by request. If you are looking for a stunning, romantic and relaxing, quiet restaurant and cost isn't a big factor this is the place!!!
A special treat! Dining at Nello is always a wonderful gastronomic experience and well worth the high price (if you don't mind!). The food and service are both amazing. Our favorite waiter is Albero...he makes it a less "stuffy" experience!
Lunch at Nello is always a must while we visit NYC. Superb menu and service, refined dining at its best.
Beautiful people, beautiful decor, beautiful experience.
Very expensive, but....a once in a lifetime bucket experience
Wonderful dining experience! Amazing staff, they know how to make you feel special! The black truffles pasta is excellent, I spent 195.00 USD on this main course, but it's worth it! Strongly recommend!
Great place for lunch but super overpriced for endive salad $34
Excellent friendly wait staff. Paid attention to small details at the table
Excelente experiencia! Nos trataron y comimos muy bien!
Es caro pero consideramos que lo valió.
To expensive Restaurant. Poor quantity in comparison with other great Italian restaurants in NY.
We found Nello too expensive, we had no appetizer an eat mostly pasta
still one of the best in NYC
Makes Jean George prices look like a value meal. Food was great, service great but pushy to buy expensive drinks and items. Beautiful floral arrangements and the price of the water alone will definitely cover those costs.
Extremely expensive, $45 for an appetizer proccuto and melone.
Altijd heerlijk om bij nello te eten het is natuurlijk heel duur maar soms is dat het waard
The place is pretty, the food is only ok, service was also only ok, horrible choice of music (pop, Rihanna style. This place would go better with a jazz) and it was our most expensive meal in NYC. We went to other amazing, well known restaurants and paid maybe half of what we paid at Nello. I would not recommend and would not return.
Great location and venue but just crazy prices for what you get. I have never seen a Milanese at $80.... is it kobe veal?? LOL
This was our first visit to Nello and it won't be our last. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. What a great find for lunch on a rainy afternoon.
Lovely experience, fantastic staff, great food, However prices a very high.
I’ve visited three time and twice in this month and the food is not great, the service is awful not a nice experiance.
Service poor and food was mediocre at best while being way overpriced
One of the best Italian restaurant I’ve been in NYC
Would definitely go back. Service excellent. Excellent food.
Music too loud.
Francesco the manager is the best !
We always enjoy everything about Nello's , service and meal are great!
Very, Very good Food, at really expensive price
definitely, not for just casual or everyday lunch or dinner...
Excellent food although somehow expensive - cacio and people recommended
