The food isn't as good as the prices would warrant. It was fine. I've had better. I had the veal and it was a little tough. Many things on the menu were not available. The desserts were good. The salads were fine, nothing great. That was the big problem - nothing was great on the plate. It was fine at best, but the prices were for great. The room is lovely. Festive and warm feeling. The service was very good but the night we went it was only 1/4 to 1/3rd full. The bears outside are really cute. My dining companion had wanted to go the place with the bears! I made sure she got a picture with the bears. I'm glad I went just to see what the deal was, but I wouldn't go again. Although I feel like they were trying, it just didn't click for me. Although if you want a picture with the bears, just go have a drink, the drinks were fine.

We had an excellent meal! However the deposit of US 100.00 ( 2 people) I made was not applied to the bill. Since we were going to the airport in a hurry we payed the bill with a different credit card and left without paying attention. I called the restaurant as soon as I realized that and talked to Attila explaining that. He said the amount wd be credit to my credit card but that did not happen! There is no e mail of Nello on the site. And the e mail I sent to “Open Table” is a “ no-reply” e mail. Please inform a valid e mail so that I could attach all the receipts in order to have this amount back! Thank you.

Atolls was charming and helped us get the right tables for our 5 guests. We were celebrating a very special lady and very one had a great time. Only issues we had were not being able to get the attention of our waiter in a timely way to order drinks, then dinner. Overall, we were very pleased with everything.

The food was flavorless, the meal and wine was grossly overpriced, several items listed on the menu they did not have, and the waiter was pushy when it came to ordering. The best part of the experience was the ambiance and location. Very disappointed, especially for a meal in NYC.

The food came out quite quickly and it was great, but it wasn’t worth the price. I got the carbonara which was very simple and pricy but it did not give me the wow factor. The restaurant is clean but it was dead despite it being around lunch time at 1 PM. The service was great, they were always there to assist and made sure all my needs were met. The red teddy bears were unique and this set the restaurant apart from others. I would not visit again just because it is overpriced for the value of the food and the ambiance was not lively.

The restaurant was empty on a Saturday evening. The first two bottles of wine we tried to order were unavailable. Thus we were forced to buy a very expensive bottle of wine. Poor customer service.

Too bad this restaurant was not full for a Saturday night. The food was delicious and the ambiance was nice. My meat was over cooked but the staff took care of the situation immediately which was super. Will come back again.

NEVER AGAIN. Outrageous prices (especially wines!) and incompetent service. We asked our server what bourbons they had, and he listed Macallan 12 as one of them. OK, so he didn't know Macallan is a scotch, I thought. Then we noticed that he was working behind the bar, a whole new perspective on his cluelessness. I am used to New York Upper East Side prices, but the prices at this restaurant set a whole new standard of greediness. Wines especially. For example, a Pinot Grigio Santa Margarita, with a retail per bottle of about $27, sells on their list for $126 (half-bottles are $64). I'm not sure that the numbers are exactly right, but you get the idea - rip-off time! Plenty of better alternatives in the neighborhood. The red teddy bears are cute, but REALLY!

Service was terrible. Food was below average. They rushed us out the door so they close even though I had a reservation they accepted. There also was cockroaches run around the outside seating area. Best advice. Don’t believe everything you see on the web.

Food and service were amazing as always. Nello you need to get your payment situation streamlined. The issue with not being able to “find” the $200 deposit i made through open table for the reservation (although they did make it right after asking for me to prove through the OT app that i had made the deposit) and then not wanting me to pay with a MC and asking for AMEX instead (thank goodness i had it with me)….not a pleasurable end to a very expensive meal. Again, food and service were impeccable as always, but until they get the payment situation resolved, i probably won’t be back.

I paid a $100 deposit thru open table to reserve our table at nelllos. We were traveling and it was our last night in NYC. Arrived at the restaurant to find out that their credit card services were not working and we had to pay via cash. Did not proceed with the meal as we had no way to easily get the cash. Deposit is yet to be refunded. Have contacted nellos twice. Terrible service!

Do not choose this establishment. Sadly we had a reservation for our 10 year anniversary. This was where we went on our first date. I made the reservation way in advamce ..through open table and used my Visa to secure it. $50 a head so in total $100 deposit. Well, we show up and the man at the door tells us they do not take visa - it broke earlier. We had no chooce but to leave. They had our credit card numbers and a deposit. I called two days in a row now and they have not refunded me. Today the man on the phone confirmed that they “prefer” Mastercard, American Express or cash. So, basically they ruined our anniversary. This place has gone down hill. Do not entrust them with your credit card information or with a special occasion - they are simply not capable. My next step is to reach out to local newspapers. Nello - you already ruined our special occasion. I called you three times. I emailed. Stop rubbing salt in the wound and just refund me my $100. Shame on you.

8pm restaurant had very few other patrons. Menu is classic Italian staples but $35-40 for a carbonara or aglio,olio is a bit rich. And the carbonara wasn’t so great. Our salads were good. Desserts were great. Vongole was fine. Least expensive bottle on lemur was $110 and the Gavi di Gavi, a table wine, was over $200!!!
