Solid performer. Good food, good service and nice venue.
Wine list very overpriced.
$10 for a 6oz coke and $15 for iced tea at lunch; really....no wonder Elizabeth Warren wants to tax the billionaires.
Extremely overpriced. Cipriani is much better for Italian food (high end).
Nello is pricey but consistently good.
I actually love it
Erg goed en lekker maar ook erg erg duur, zeker in vergelijk tot andere restaurants
Nello is a great place. The ambience is fantastic and the food very good. However, the prices they charge for the wine list is just outrageous! I know wines well and the mark-up is sometimes over 300%! It is something they should consider reviewing. It is not just outright expensive, but it is also compared to similar trendy places in NYC.
Sadly Nello is not what it used to be. I’ve been coming here on and off for over 30 years. It has gone downhill greatly. The decor is tired. The service is apathetic. The food is inconsistent - some things were good, but nothing was great. The only thing that has stayed the same is the astronomical prices. And the markup on their wine list is egregious - one very average bottle of wine which can be purchased for $15. retail was priced at $100! In the past you could justify the cost with the fact that you were getting amazing food in a lovely intimate setting. Unfortunately Nello is no longer worth the price.
If you have to know the prices, this isn't the place for you. But the food and the service and the ambience are worth it.
Everything great EXCEPT: I ordered water with NO ice and it came with ice. Also Inordered a tequila with seltzer water and it came with a solash of regular water. Not cool.
Meeting old friends
Annoying guy next to us but good otherwise
As longtime fans of Nello, I’m sorry to report we had a poor waiter last night. Very unusual, but other waitstaff observed the issue and pitched in the assist.
I love Nello’s. It is pricey and extravagant, but worth the experience.
The best dinner we had during our holiday. If we would stay again in NYC we certainly come back.
The atmosphere was welcoming, experienced personnel and great recommendations.
Great atmosphere and service. Ridiculously overpriced. Pasta Arrabiata as plain as it gets for $39 is not justifiable
Very nice spot on Madison Avenue. Typical upscale NYC Italian, very expensive, but quality and service were wonderful. Tight seating, but we were there on a beautiful night, so front window was open and it felt great. Is so Bucco was excellent, crispy artichoke was just OK. My wife got a beet salad and Pasta bolognese and both were very good.
Seating was quick. Food was Olive Garden Quality. I was out on a shopping trip with my Fiancée. Food is over priced. Not complaining because of the location. If we can spend thousands in this shopping strip I was expecting to pay an up charge. That wasn’t the issue. Staff I repeat STAFF we literally arguing through restaurant. Curses to wait staff having to hold back one man in a suit (bald head) to not assault another man in a suit. So unprofessional. I talked more like told off the “what I assume” was the manager for allowing this chaos while my lady is trying to eat.
If you want a great experience, great service, amazing food. Go to Polo Bar NYC.
My sister and I travel to NYC annually From the UK for a shopping trip and we came across this little gem of a restaurant 4 years ago. We always go back as we absolutely loved the food. We always start our visit with a Bellini. The specials each time are what we usually have We especially love the pasta with fresh white truffle, lobster spaghetti, lobster ravioli and the langoustines.
The staff are friendly and courteous. It’s well worth a visit.
Some of the best pasta dishes I have EVER had in my mouth! Pricey- but worth it.
Very good food but super super expensive to the point I feel ripped off. $420 for two people with only one glass of wine and 2 bottles of water.
Rich people only
Always and will be our favorite restaurant in NYC........
Food is spectacular along with the ambiance and staff
Very much wanted to love a return visit after a few years aways .... The ambiance is quite wonderful .... the food mediocre disputed the fine descriptions on the menu ... the service only fair given all ... the prices ridiculous given all .... living off its past reputation .... but apparently still appealing to tourists who have heard about those days ....
Too expensive. Very nice place, but costs a fortune
Great romantic and delicious little place. Classic and timeless.
Nice decor, very good food, service was average.
The wine list was grossly over priced. The restaurant marked the wine up 400 to 500 percent above retail. They do not allow outside wine with a corkage fee - it’s eqsy to know the reason they simply overcharge grossly.
This is a cant miss Italian gem! Authentic Italian served by professional waiters -
Octopus salad was terrific- perfectly seasoned-
This is my favorite place to eat in New York. Lunch and dinner. The food is unbelievably delicious, the service is excellent, the seating is comfortable, and it’s a gorgeous place.
Not sure if I would recommend. The location and ambiance were great. My meal was okay but my companion said his was delicious. I ordered the special so maybe I ordered wrong. I'm used to NY prices however I could've made my $37 salad at home for less than $10. Someone else may have a better experience. Dessert was lovely and the wine wonderful as well. They do have 1/2 bottles but when I asked for one, I was steered toward getting by the glass instead.
Food was OK. Not sure if it worth the price anymore. Had better pasta
Amazing food and service! Cant wait to be back!
The perfect place to be on a Sunny Day in the Upper East. Great food and service. Best for special occasions.
Our favorite spot when we come into the City from Ct.
Food is amazing and staff is suburb and very attentive!!
Fantastic food and service every time!
Nello it’s a real nice place. I always have artichoke in white wine, very good, this time they offer me white asparagus excellent. My husband had the Venetian livers good too. Service was impeccable, ambiance excellent.we like this place. All of them are very nice.
Excellent food in a small lovely restaurant with great ambiance. All our food was prepared well and the service was very good,
Unbelievable meal! My favorite in New York!!!
Nello’s is terrific. Food always great. Ambiance is wonderful sitting on Madison Ave with sliding glass doors open on a beautiful day is terrific.
Service is great.
Pricing is a bit over the top for everyday dining, but worth it for a special occasion.
Food and service were excellent. Fresh flowers were magnificent. Wine was way overpriced as was food. Loved the place but would not go back. $660 for 2 people.
