About Nellie Cashman's Monday Club Cafe at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa
Named for “The Angel of the Mining Camp” and Arizona’s oldest club for women, Nellie Cashman’s Monday Club Café offers casual dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. With an emphasis on locally-grown produce, the inventive menu is inspired by the culinary trends made popular during early Arizona’s mining heyday. Examples include a Dutch-oven daily special, a selection of stir-fry dishes that pay homage to the Chinese cooks who worked in mining camps and various savory barbecue dishes featuring pulled pork, ribs and beef brisket. Floor-to-ceiling windows create a bright indoor setting and seating is also available outdoors in the adjacent Dreamweaver’s Canyon courtyard, which provides views of the Kierland Golf Course and McDowell Mountains.

Nellie Cashman's Monday Club Cafe at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa Ratings and Reviews
We were seated toward the end of breakfast, but before brunch. When I made the reservation, that was not clear. It was a little awkward with the wait staff when we transitioned into brunch, which is what we were there for. Our server was great, but the dining room manager was a little rude to my husband when he was getting food from the buffet right before breakfast closed down.
Great food and atmosphere, setting, ambiance... all that jazz...
fairly priced and great service. Our server, Taylor, was excellent. Very well put together and offered suggestions of her favorite dishes since this was our first time and everything turned out fantastic. I highly recommend this establishment and will certainly be back in the near future.
We were staying at the Villas, which by the way were all remodeled and fantastic. We chose Nellies because we did not have to drive and it was recommended to us. We are huge food people and it was our Anniversary so we wanted to eat somewhere nice. Our server did an okay job. My husband has a sea salt allergy and she did what she could to ensure that issue was addressed with the chef. The food selections were okay at best. The au grautan potatoes were more like scalloped and they said it was a portion to share.....about 10 ounces???? The wine selection was moderate at best. All local and not that great. We believe they need to rethink their menu. Fried carrot strings.....like chewing on toothpicks.
We had purchased a living social coupon. Our server was great, very attentive and other than having to send back the mashed potatoes to be warmed up everything was delicious, and the steak cooked perfectly! Would go again. Was also nice to catch a lady entertaining us with a short trip bagpipe piece!!!
Stopped in for breakfast and walked through what looked like an awesome buffet. I was seated fast but it took about 10 minutes to get water. Then the waiter started to walk away. I had to stop him to ask about getting an iced tea. Another 5 to 7 minutes later he came back with my tea and started to leave again. I asked if I could order. He never offered the buffet as an option so I ordered the breakfast burrito.
The eggs in the burrito were overcooked and brown? The tea was good😁. I asked if there was wi-if available and was told no unless I was a guest of the hotel or I could pay $14.95 for the day.
Probably will not be returning.
We were joining friends to celebrate a 94th birthday. The buffet may be wonderful, but $40 (especially out of season) is outrageous - and that is without a drink. I don't know many people who can eat their money's worth at that price point. So we asked if we could just order eggs - the firm answer (at noon) was NO. So we ordered sandwiches and salads. A very mediocre burger with no sides was $15. $4 more to add fries. A turkey wrap, with no sides, also $14. Our server was not wonderful - we waited quite a bit for condiments. All in all, I would not recommend this restaurant.
By the way, we later had dinner at Deseo - in same hotel. It was quite expensive and worth every penny. Great meal, great service, wonderful experience.
As a vegan, I have pretty much given up on eating out. I live about an hour out of Seattle, so unless I go into Seattle, I can't find a decent vegan meal. I did not have high expectations for any of the restaurants at the Westin Kierland Resort after seeing little if any vegetarian options on the menu, let alone vegan. However, when I made reservations, I put in the comment that we were vegan--why not? Maybe it will help.
When we checked in with the hostess, she immediately acknowledged that we were vegans, and said they would be able to accommodate us. Yeah! The dip for the bread was eggplant instead of the usual butter, and we had two protein options for our entree (black beans, tofu, or both with a Southwestern stir fry). We chose black beans. The entree was delicious! And the chef replaced the white rice with quinoa, which gave us more protein.
The service was outstanding as well. We had a great dining experience. Thank you!
This is our second time at Nelly Cashman so we had a great time again the food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. I really like it because the tables aren't so close together you can actually have a conversation with the people that you're with we will definitely be back again
The food was just okay. The salads were fine, and the baked chicken was good but needed more sauce. The scalloped potatoes had an enormous amount of pepper in them which made them inedible. The brussels spout side was overlooked- mostly burnt. Although the ambiance is amazing, we were disappointed in our meal. Staff was very friendly.
My group and I discussed the lack of service. We waited for our food for too long. We looked around for our server, in hopes that our food would be on its way. Much to our dismay, we noticed our server was sitting down chatting with other guests. I got up to get another staff members attention. I got the attention of a gentleman and notified him that we had been waiting for our food for a while and that our server was sitting down chatting. He said he would get our server. I believe our server saw me talking to him. As I walked back to the table, she walked passed me. Shortly after, she brought half of our order. The mac & cheese was cold. The brussel sprouts were ordered as an appetizer but it was delivered at the same time as the meal. If I were to return, it would only be to try the hamburger. 3 people in group ordered it and raved about it, also said it was the best burger they've ever had.
Staff not well trained despite the upscale environment and presentation. Only one fork provided for both salad and entre. The fork was removed from empty salad bowl, placed on table waiting for main dish. The quality of the food was not comparable with the cost. Our steak was okay, the potato delicious and the asparagus acceptable. Bread was not warm. But we could have eaten this same meal at a much lower price in a different restaurant. However, the ambience was lovely.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner and just really enjoyed the whole experience for our first visit here. The steaks were perfectly cooked and our waiter was really pleasant and accommodating. I highly recommend Nellie Cashman's and will return again soon.
