Nellie Cashman's is a typical hotel restaurant. The butternut squash soup tasted good. Too bad it was luke warm. The salmon was a bit too salty but otherwise prepared well and served hot. The server was attentive but obviously covrring many other tables. Chain hotels such as the Westin cater to their clientele which at this time of year are families traveling to a cheap off season destination. Large families in a restaurant that strives to be ambient is a disaster for couples awaiting a quiet evening meal.
The food was very good, but the overall experience on Father's Day certainly could have been better. Our waitress was not super attentive at times and was completely absent at other times. Perhaps we will return and give it another chance when it's not a holiday.
Great food, great service! I had the campfire chicken with an gratin potatoes- absolutely delicious!
Good food. Service a little slow. Restaurant is nice with great views of golf course.
great food and service! We used a groupon which helped with the bill some. Must try the punch for two.
Had the ribeye which had fabulous flavor as did the prawn app. Sitting out on patio was very nice but we seemed to have been forgotten a bit after our entrees while waiting for desert
Five people in our party all had one steak or another. Everyone enjoyed their steak tremendously. One other person had the shrimp dinner and that was wonderful also. We will definitely go back.
Nice view of the golf course arriving around sunset we were able to hear the piper great selection something for everyone
Service, food, refreshments all outstanding
Oh my gosh, what a terrific experience! My husband and I had dinner here and it was excellent. I had the salmon entree and my husband had the Campfire Chicken. The salmon was done perfectly, as were the vegetables and rice. My husband's chicken entree also was excellent. He said the chicken wasn't dry, was very moist, flavorful and seasoned just right. We tried the Javelina cab wine and it was actually a very nice wine. We finished the meal with the strawberry apple pie/vanilla bean gelato, and it was oh so very yummy. Matthew was a terrific waiter and was attentive and very knowledgeable. Marco, the manager, was also very thoughtful, as we were seated outside and rain clouds were rolling in, and he came to let us know that if the weather should start to become inclement, he already had a table ready for us inside. All around it was a really excellent experience and we will be returning.
Arrived at 6pm and sat outside which remained warmer than the air conditioned interior. Staff very helpful and attentive.
Menu is rather limited but everything we ordered was well prepared. Had the chicken which was moist and tasty. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. The rest of the party had the salmon and said it was very good.
As an added bonus it is quiet. You can hear your table companions.
Thus restaurant is very nice. A bit pricey but OK. Just dont use the Groupon as it doesn't work out as a good value. Just use the menu and your credit card.
Our food was excellent. Our service by Ally was exceptional. The receipt produced for dinner was embarrasing, confusing and insulting.
We attended using a Groupon. If you are a Groupon customer, the restaurant will automatically add an 18% "service charge". Not sure that the server receives that service charge. Customarily, a "service charge" is retained by the country club or restaurant and not shared with the server. We never only tip 18% unless we get poor service. The service charge isn't disclosed on the Groupon or disclosed to anyone before the check is delivered. There was no subtotal on the bill against which the 18% service charge could be verified. I'm a CPA and professional portfolio manager, so math is my life. I had a difficult time figuring out the bill. The credit for the Groupon was nowhere to be found on the bill. A miscellaneous item for 50.00 was shown as "Room Charge". We weren't staying on property at the hotel.
Marko, the manager, had no idea why they create the receipt or who is responsible for the policy. He suggested he will "look into the matter".
In sum, the food is terrific, but visit the restaurant only if you anticipate being confused and amused when you get the bill.
Excellent food, excellent service, well worth the experience.
Great hotel restaurant. Try to sit outside and catch the bagpiper!
Open Table said “hurry now only 6 tables left” - we were the only people there in a room with 50 tables. We are local and know this is a resort restaurant and, accordingly, should’ve known better.... Crying babies and a bagpipe player that just wouldn’t stop - brutal. For $50 more - we could’ve been at Ocean Club across the street - and I wouldn’t have blown my Anniversary dinner...
Food was awesome. I had the most delicious salmon. The wait staff was super and friendly and very helpful. The ambiance was great. Everything about this place was outstanding and I’ll be back real soon.
Delightful for breakfast. Our server greeted us warmly and we were on track for a good meal. I had berries that were great and my colleague a breakfast burrito, also good. Her meal was late. We had to ask where it was, although my berries arrived promptly. The server admitted she made a mistake - so u inquest these days - but I’m concerned she had too many tables to notice that the meal was not there or that my colleague wanted more company.
Will return though - good location and food. Hopefully this was a fluke on the service.
Great service but chicken pot pie was very skimpy on chicken and veggies. Way expensive at $22 for small bowl- definitely not entree size.
Ok here's the deal, went here for a romantic night away with my wife..... this is not that type off place. They have a children's buffett right in the middle of the restaurant.....yes you read that right. About 50 little kids with parents screaming at them ALL NIGHT as we tried to eat dinner. My wife and I looked at each other in complete shock. Who could have thought this was a good idea for a restaurant that was going to cost 150 without alchohol? The service was good but the food was average and WAY over priced. Please save your money if your looking for a romantic experience evening.... THIS IS NOT THE PLACE!!!
There was no manager available to complain to at the time. First the glass of soda came with a piece of glass in it. Then the main course of meatloaf and there were 3 orders of that at our table, were all served cold including the mashed potatoes. We ate outside since it was so cold inside it was unbearable. The inside was nice but since we were outside we were there was no atmosphere to enjoy the evening.
Our waitress Michelle, was great and had to keep apologizing for the food.
All in all a terrible evening. Will never go back!
Boom-town. Wonderful meal with bagpipes playing over our meal. Mom, dad, and kids loved it.
Go to Deseo, better service, atmosphere, and food. Westin should be ashamed to have this restaurant under their roof.
Open table reporting incorrect stats, unable to change, should be 2.5*
It was a quiet evening in the restaurant, much more pleasant than the lobby area of the hotel due the crowd of people attending a conference. Food was excellent and prepared to our liking. The Wedge salad was beautifully presented and could have been shared. Ribeye steak tender, tasty, and cooked perfectly. Generous side dishes (braised greens and garlic mashed potatoes) should not be ignored. And the wait staff were appropriately attendent. Great restaurant!
Everything was very good except for the service. They seemed understaffed, even though it was a low volume Saturday night. Will treat it as an anomaly.
I would suggest them for the view and some of the food. The bill as identified was confusing from what was identified on Groupon and the Groupon said you would have the choice on the tip. The restaurant puts an automatic 20% on. The bread was ok and the garlic spread with it was awful.
Great service and food. There needs to be s way to decrease the noise level. It felt like I was in a kindergarten cafeteria. The restaurant and the hotel is not attracting people with good etiquette.
Service was great, food was very good. Enjoyable visit.
Tried Nellie Cashman's Saturday night. Reservations at 7:00. Not too crowded, about half full maybe. My husband had a wedge salad and the salmon. He thought the salmon was among the best he'd ever eaten. I had the corn chowder soup which was excellent, and the meat loaf. Meat loaf was a generous portion, but the gravy was very strong and a bit spicy. Overwhelming flavor that I was still tasting the next morning. I would not recommend it. Otherwise a great experience.
Nice restaurant good food. We used a Groupon and were restricted to a special menu but had several choices of appetizers, entre and dessert. Great wait staff and service. Arrived in time for evening bag-pipe at sunset. We enjoyed Nellie Cashman.
Mediocre meal — my salmon was dry. My fault, should have ordered it medium rare
This is a great restaurant to explore some of the traditional food of Arizona area. Many of their mixed drinks are from recipes dating back to the 1800's. I tried the polenta cakes for an appetizer and found them to be excellent. I also really enjoy the meatloaf. Perhaps one of the best surprise of the evening was the creme brulee for dessert, which was very creamy, light, and a great vanilla taste. The service was friendly, other thing the server was a little too busy with other tables. Still, that would not dissuade me from returning or recommending it.
Excellent food and service. Will return again in near future
Excellent ribeye steak; by far the best item on the menu.
Everything was great. The restaurant was a bit too empty and too quiet for my taste, but food and service were great.
Always an outstanding location with great food and great service. Chris did an outstanding job with a patient and warm approach. Highly recommend.
Limited menu, and shrimp appetizer had a terrible taste - returned it
I got the special prime rib steak. It was more like a massive filet with the taste of ribeye - delicious. It came with a great sauce and the most impressive potato side dish I have had anywhere. The whole meal was very enjoyable. My only suggestion is maybe offer some California wines, the Arizona brands aren’t my favorite.
Very disappointing for New Years Eve. Service and attention to detail was some of the worse I’ve ever experienced and no one at the restaurant seemed to care. Not what I expected from Westin. Don’t waste your time going to thus restaurant.
