Excellent meal to celebrate 91st birthday! Delicious food and the cheesecake was amazing - served with chocolate shard, macaron, meringue and ice cream. Service was prompt and the serving staff were attentive and very lovely and friendly. All in all a very enjoyable lunch!

Visiting Newcastle for only the 2nd time I remembered this pub as being excellent. It did not disappoint. The food was terrific with a large choice from the seasonal menu. Jo looked after us really well. An all round great experience.

Had a fabulous meal, friends had the sharing seafood platter from the specials board was delicious. I had rump steak, cooked perfectly. Quality of food fantastic sourced locally from butchers etc. Great value, not over inflated prices. Old traditional inn. Food was so good went back for the Sunday roast and have today best roast had out in a very long time, a must have. The staff were great, nothing too much trouble.

Afternoon tea was served in one of the lounge areas rather than the restaurant. It was very relaxed and pleasant. Sandwiches very fresh, scones warm. Everything was very tasty.
