Neighborhood Services Ratings and Reviews
I’ve been to the neighborhood services in Addison a few times, with a great experience each time. My wife and I decided to try the Lovers Ln location and was disappointed. Service and ambience were fine. The food wasn’t. Tried the tuna tartare and it was bland. Tried the aged Delmonico medium rare for my main course and it was not flavorful. Had to sprinkle some salt and pepper on it, which helped somewhat. There was also a lot of gristle in the steak. Next time I’ll go to a steak house for a good $55 steak. Wife had a similar experience with her white fish. I will say that my steak came with a salad which was very tasty.
Table for 6 at 6:00 on a Friday night. Felt a little rushed by waiter, but could understand, as it was a Friday night. But he made it pretty obvious that he was rushing us. Needs more finesse. Other than that, food was very good, simple-- in the best way. Great neighborhood restaurant (hence the name, I suppose). Signage is non-existant, so trust your GPS and not your eyes (we had to look for the valet stand to find the restaurant, since there is no sign). In the same building as the Time Out Tavern, which has excellent signage ;)
We usually like/love NHS on Lovers Lane but our family dinner to announce our daughter’s pregnancy was a big disappointment. Both cuts of the expensive steak were tough and in flavorful, the asparagus appetizer was tough and chewy, the meatballs were over cooked, the Mac & Cheese was grainy and sort of disgusting, and we were just terribly underwhelmed. Nick needs to keep his eye on the ball here and bring the location back up to its original great standards.
Always love this location. My bf tried the $52 ribeye based on the menu preparation but we thought it was pretty bland. I had the scallops which was pretty dang good. I typically get a filet but wanted to try something different tonight. Overall service was great so we’ll be back.
This is our favorite restaurant in Dallas and has always provided us with great food and service. So I was dismayed at our visit on 12/16/17 to find the service barely adequate. There clearly were not enough wait staff to handle the customer load. This led to a couple of rather long delays. The rest rooms were also not as clean and well stocked as they usually are. We will be returning in February 2018 hoping that things have improved. If not, we may bid this old friend goodbye.
I hope you will share this review with the restaurant management.
We had special request -- wanted to surprise our daughter. Liz and rest of staff accommodated our requests, seating us early and in corner -- which allowed the surprise to be even more fun! We are grateful for their enthusiastic help in taking care of every request. The food was wonderful; the wine was great. Thanks to everyone for being a part of our family fun!
My wife and I were visiting from out of town and we would recommend Neighborhood Service to any one headed to the DFW area. The hostess was understanding and polite despite us being 10 min late due to traffic. Our server Chad was knowledgeable and gave great suggestions on drinks and appetizers/dinner. I appreciated his explanation on all suggestions and the fact that he simply did not just pick the most expensive items on the menu. We split the Gulf Shrimp which we both enjoyed, She had the Steak Frites with "voodoo" sauce which was her favorite item of the night. I had the Funky Del Monico which in my opinion was definitely worth the price. Being from the Chicago Land area we have no shortage of high end/high quality steak houses and I would put the Del Monico in that category easily. We split the grits as well which tasted good, but ended up being a tad bland in my opinion. The service was excellent and this is a great place for a special occasion although it appeared they were lots of families and groups of friends as well. I would like to come back and try the burger or lobster which we heard other diners commenting on positively.
