Had another terrific experience at Neighborhood Services! Honestly, it is the only restaurant I have been to at least five times (been many more) and never had a bad meal. They didn't even have our favorite steak special (Kansas City Strip) and still blew it out of the water with an amazing ribeye.
A very pleasant surprise. Too noisy for quiet conversation, but nice energy. Very friendly staff. The hamburger was giant! Very good value. We will return.
The best ever
Great service and food! Was my first time and definitely looking to return in the future!
Love this place, although it seems clear they are trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible. At certain times, the waiter interrupted our conversation to take orders, give us information or move things along. I appreciate that some of that is necessary, but interrupting someone is rude!
Hey what can I say. That was pretty darn good. I loved the food and the service.
One of the hostesses was snippy with us regarding seating us with three of our four people present (with birthday gift bags in hand standing in the crowded bar) at our four-top table. Taylor, our server, was very nice and accommodating regarding my friend’s severe egg and nut allergies. The halibut special was terrific.
Fantastic food and service was great. Valet parking makes for an easy in and out.
Our party if 6 had reservations for 9:30. Not seated until 10:20. Lame excuse from hostess that since we were big people that our reserved table would not be good for us. There were actually no tables available. Drinks were great as usual. Waited another 20 minutes to get more drinks. Was really looking forward to Friday special “Big Steak”. Waiter said none left. Then ordered the most expensive aged steak on menu ($52). Waiter said they also ran out of it. Very disappointed. Waiter did not give a flip. Food we finally got was fair. This place overrated, operating on its past rep. Too bad.
Awesome service from Rob at the bar, and Eric at our table. Lobster special with polenta was amazing, as well as the filet---perfectly seasoned and cooked. Amazing and reasonable bottle of wine suggested by our waiter, Eric. Will definitely be back...recommend reservations!
I love this place - the food is always wonderful and great service as well. It can be very loud. We had an 8PM seating - it gradually cleared out while we were there so not as loud this particular evening. The special dessert was bananas foster fried pie - awesome!!
Love this place but access to bar is horrendous. unless your belly-up to bar...no chance your getting a drink. Then if you try to get up to bar...Bartenders look at you and avoid you until you feel like your from another planet. Will certainly go back for Dinner only and have a couple drinks before I go.
I am so very lost. We went to Neighborhood Services because we were told it was great and getting a reservation was nearly impossible. We ended up with one the evening after Valentine's at 8:30.
The quick answer is it wasn't great; it was fair at best. We were seated promptly and the hostess had confirmed reservations the day prior. We were greeted quickly and even got drink suggestions and a perfect summation of the specials, but after that it was just, okay.
First, I do not remember a single table check on food quality for any course. The food was okay, but if you do have a problem, this becomes an issue. Maybe it was the lateness of night and servers wanting to be out, but it felt a little off.
Second, from the menu, spicy tuna tartare is just tuna. I could not find spice at all, unless they just meant by name. Naming a dog Rex doesn't make him a king. Similarly, naming something spicy that is just bland doesn't do it either. Sorry.
Finally, and this may be a space issue, but the noise level was over the top. I literally had trouble hearing the server and across the table.
The person who recommended Neighborhood Services specifically wanted to go there. His comments were:
* servers knew the specials and prices (true),
* service was excellent (I thought it was okay, not excellent),
* food was exceptional (it could have been, but it really was exceptionally average).
Good luck to you. I am not fighting for reservations for average. If I am in the neighborhood it is possible I will try again, but can't recommend to you until there is a big improvement.
The food was good but not great and definitely nothing special. The service wasn't on par with any similar restaurant in Dallas I've been to. We felt rushed, upsold, or ignored throughout the evening.
We had a wonderful time, everything was remarkable. Thanks!
Had so much food, but a little pricey. Be prepared to spend some money, but not leave wishing you hadn't. Pork chop was great and the potato gratin was the highlight.
Always delivers. Even after many years and all the new competition, NHS remains the clear leader for great food and good service and creative cocktails in a nice atmosphere. Value is best feature. Nice upscale experience for a fair price.
Place is awesome. Steaks are the way to go... One of our go-to spots when we can break away from the kids.
Seated half hour after reservation time, but service helped make up for that, mostly.
The food was delicious! We came in from Los Angeles, and a friend recommended this restaurant to us. We had the asparagus, iceberg wedge, and steak special. All were amazing. Waitress was very nice and helpful.
Always amazing service and delicious food!!!
Taylor our server was excellent!
Amazing service all around (Amanda was fantastic) and the food is consistently delicious and well executed- great cocktails as well.
Incredible. Best restaurant in Dallas
Great food and service
I try to make it Neighborhood Services at least twice when I am in Dallas for a week.
Writing this good review comes with hesitation, they are now so popular I was only able to get in one night.
For the June market I have on my calendar to make reservations in May.
First time to the Lovers Ln location and we all enjoyed a great dinner! Great menu, something for everyone.
The staff is wondering. We had a friend who is doing the whole 30. The manager came out to help her select the perfect food for her diet. The pot pie is wonderful, martinis are dirty/strong and the staff is very helpful. 100% service!
Took out of town friends there and it was great. Our server was so nice and accommodating. Loved the busy atmosphere and successful vibe.
I’ve been to the neighborhood services in Addison a few times, with a great experience each time. My wife and I decided to try the Lovers Ln location and was disappointed. Service and ambience were fine. The food wasn’t. Tried the tuna tartare and it was bland. Tried the aged Delmonico medium rare for my main course and it was not flavorful. Had to sprinkle some salt and pepper on it, which helped somewhat. There was also a lot of gristle in the steak. Next time I’ll go to a steak house for a good $55 steak. Wife had a similar experience with her white fish. I will say that my steak came with a salad which was very tasty.
Have been here many times and am never disappointed. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Incredible. Such a special memory- great food, great ambiance, great service, great experience!
One of the best restaurants in Dallas. All dishes are consistently excellent and the service is spot on.
Very Positive. Always love this place.
We showed up a few minutes early for a 7 pm reservation and weren’t seated until about 7:40.
Completely unacceptable and I won’t return to this location again.
Have been here several times - its a perfect neighborhood restaurant.
Easy in, easy out, GREAT service.
Needs no improvement.
Open Table is the only way to go!
Delmonico steak was incredible! Worth every penny!
Over crowded, even with a reservation you have to wait a while. Didn’t find anything special about this place.
Place was packed, but we were still able to get seated 15minites prior to our reservation. Food was excellent, service great, ambiance lively. Will return.
