Neighborhood Services Ratings and Reviews
Always love this location. My bf tried the $52 ribeye based on the menu preparation but we thought it was pretty bland. I had the scallops which was pretty dang good. I typically get a filet but wanted to try something different tonight. Overall service was great so we’ll be back.
We had special request -- wanted to surprise our daughter. Liz and rest of staff accommodated our requests, seating us early and in corner -- which allowed the surprise to be even more fun! We are grateful for their enthusiastic help in taking care of every request. The food was wonderful; the wine was great. Thanks to everyone for being a part of our family fun!
My wife and I were visiting from out of town and we would recommend Neighborhood Service to any one headed to the DFW area. The hostess was understanding and polite despite us being 10 min late due to traffic. Our server Chad was knowledgeable and gave great suggestions on drinks and appetizers/dinner. I appreciated his explanation on all suggestions and the fact that he simply did not just pick the most expensive items on the menu. We split the Gulf Shrimp which we both enjoyed, She had the Steak Frites with "voodoo" sauce which was her favorite item of the night. I had the Funky Del Monico which in my opinion was definitely worth the price. Being from the Chicago Land area we have no shortage of high end/high quality steak houses and I would put the Del Monico in that category easily. We split the grits as well which tasted good, but ended up being a tad bland in my opinion. The service was excellent and this is a great place for a special occasion although it appeared they were lots of families and groups of friends as well. I would like to come back and try the burger or lobster which we heard other diners commenting on positively.
We’ve been here several times, but took some out-of-town guests to dinner. Two of us had the lemon sole and two of us had the Black Sea Bass with voodoo sauce. Both were excellent dishes. For appetizers, we had the meatballs (my husband loves these) and the crab dip, which was outstanding. Chad was our server and he was very attentive, but didn’t interrupt our dinner too much. NHS is so good, we should make it a weekly event.
The food is always good here and at a reasonable price point. This original location is still the best of the "empire". The one thing I never understand is how they can never have a table ready for you no matter what time your reservation. I understand it isn't an exact science but the majority of restaurants can get you in within 10 minutes of your time. I've never been to any of Badovinus' establishments that can seat you in less than 30 minutes after your time. I feel certain if I were 30 minutes late I would no longer have a reservation.
I am just not sold on this place. After many, many visits II just don’t see the hype! We had. 630 reservation. One person in our party was late so we could not sit down until they were there . When they did get there we were told our table was not ready! Ok. The specials were read to us and I chose the oysters that were presented when I ordered them I was told they were out of them but had another brand. Ok. The menu is just a lot of fried things or spicy choices. Not my thing. I think every time we go there it will be better. Nope!
WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Most of the time when we go, we sit at the bar and we love the bartenders. Now they know how to make a cocktail! This time we went with a group and our waiter was fun, kind, attentive. Had a great time with our friends who had never been to this NHS (which we think is the best one)!!
The food was amazing! Server made great recommendations, was patient explaining specials and answering questions. It's a little loud, and the prices are a bit steep, but those things won't keep me from returning soon, and often. There are many items on the menu I am anxious to try. Loved it!
Our food was fantastic! Loved the Brisket nachos because they were individual chips loaded with yummy brisket, sour cream, cheese and best flavor. Burgers were monstrously big and delicious. I️ had the Angry Lobster and I️ can’t wait to go back and get it again...amazing. Salads were great and our desert was delicious as well. We will for sure go back!! Loved it!!!
Consistantly good! I have been here numerous times and the food is always great and the service is always outstanding! Be prepared on the weekends for leaning in to hear one-another across the table, but the 'energy' is always on at a nice, manageable clip. And the people watching is a bonus most nights! LOL
This place has valet. We were seated quickly because it was early in the evening and I made a reservation so they had my table already assigned and waiting for us. Waitress was very helpful and the service was great! We had the Angrier Lobster, one of the Big Steaks (the kitchen cut this in half for us so that we could share which was really an extra step they didn't have to take but very much appreciated), the jack and Mac casserole and the nachos (super delicious, I highly recommend). No room for dessert after all that. The entrees themselves were very filling. This is my second time at this establishment but the first time at this location. I like this place enough to recommend to those who want a great meal on their night out.
Besides the name that is reminiscent of a kitchen soup for the homeless and the fact that from the outside the place is completely hidden, the staff and the food was fantastic. Our waiter knew the specials very well and told them to us like an exemplary performance. The food was also excellent and the tenderloin steak was particularly fantastic. Cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The atmosphere was great as well. I would suggest though, placing tables not in such proximity in the center to other tables. That was a bit of an awkward experience.
Even so, I would recommend this place to any others that want a nice meal, well presented and excellently cooked.
This is difficult because Neighborhood Services has been my favorite restaurant for the last 4-5 years. Our waitress was nice, but she was not very good at providing service. Our dirty plates were not cleared after we had our salad. Our water glasses remained empty for long periods. I don't know if she was covering too many tables or just bad, but service was not good at all. Lastly, I ordered the pasta of the day and it was undercooked and I had to ask for salt to add to the sauce because it did not taste good at all. We had a similar experience the last time we were there. My hope is that Nick has not expanded too rapidly and is not able to oversee the details that made this restaurant great.
