The downfall is an enticing menu that just doesn’t live up to its own descriptions and led to an uneven meal of delicious! and huh? The Pear Salad Fresh (pears, goat cheese, summer greens, white balsamic vinaigrette $13) had neither summer greens nor goat cheese. Arugula was a fresh and lively (though unmentioned) replacement, but is peppery spiciness overwhelmed the delicate pears. The hard gated cheese added nothing to the mix. The Burrata, (fresh tomatoes, basil & arugula $13) came with the same fresh arugula and some remarkably ripe and tasty tomatoes (despite the frigid December weather) and a creamy burrata. Nice and wonderfully fresh for a cold wintry evening. The Duck and Mushrooms (Duck confit ragu, seasonal mushrooms in a rich wine sauce $28) came with the lovely house-made pasta (perfectly cooked), but was let down by a blasé tomato sauce that was neither one thing nor another, lacking the winey richness promised and incorporating a rather unconvincing duck confit (a tad overcooked rather than meltingly tender) and some well-braised mushrooms. The Shrimp Pasta (Jumbo shrimp & tomatoes in a white wine, lemon & garlic sauce topped with toasted breadcrumbs $30) was pleasant but bland and slightly over sauced. It came with the same wonderful pasta. For dessert, the Torta della Nona was disappointing, its custard thick and gluey and the requisite pignoli nuts nowhere to be found. The Tiramisu was classic, light and flavorful. A Sunday night often isn’t the best day of the week to experience a kitchen’s best and this very uneven meal pointed that out very clearly. But you think you might want to go back to Cafe Capriccio anyway for the convivial warmth and generous hospitality of the place.More infoCafe CapriccioPrice: Expensive• Italian• Albany•4.8

However, the service last night was slower than normal. Granted, it was a busy evening but one of the things we like about Prime is that the service always is top notch. Not last night-- it seemed slow and disorganized. But overall, a very good experienceMore info677 PrimePrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Albany•4.7

Enjoyed being there on Wine Night where all glasses were $7 and bottles 1/2 price.More infoThe Copper CrowPrice: Moderate• Fusion / Eclectic• Albany•4.3
