An overwhelming amount of work paled into insignificance against the excitement at what they thought could be created in this out of the way building with a very long and interesting history. A lot of hard labour ensued to create their vision of showcasing the best qualities of a modern pub; seamlessly combining carefully sourced, sophisticated yet familiar food and drink in a welcoming authentic pub environment. It just happened to be steak night which we both ordered. Knowledgeable , polite and well humoured waitress complimented two great steaks with plentiful sides. The suggested wine was a perfect accompaniment. The dessert was tasty too. A nice ambiance in the pub with a great mixture of foodies and drinkers. I would thoroughly recommend. A pricier than your average pub but well worth it.
