Red Dog is an authentic Bar and American BAR-B-Q restaurant, serving 18-hour roast ribs, brisket, aged chuck steak burgers and much more, all best enjoyed with tasty cocktails or milkshakes.Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smouldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. Tina and her staff were attentive and friendly. A good selection of food on the menu and the specials board. We had the special of king prawn cocktail, delicious, fresh with plenty of prawns. The mains were all served very hot on hot plates. I had the chicken platter, plenty of different types of chicken…I’ll certainly have it again! We weee too full for pud but it was a lovely place to have a catch up with friends!

Staff, venue, beer were excellent. Food was good, but really overpriced. Yes, it's a city centre location, yes it's a bbq joint...I get all that. But nearly £20 for a burger not much larger than McDs is excessive. Also, that's just the burger -- a small portion of fries was an additional £5. Include the fries, and £20 is fair considering. Staff were brilliant! Always about and always asking if we needed anything. I'd visit again to try other items on the menu.
