Becoming a bit of a regular at Black Hide Caxton St. It is my preferred steakhouse. Service is always polite and efficient and Ella was definitely that last night. Steak was delicious although the prices in steaks at all modern steakhouses still surprise me. Two of us spent $150 a head. In general a highly enjoyable dining experience. I'll be back.

I thought the young lady who was checking names on arrival could have been more welcoming. We were quite literally the first table to arrive on Mother’s Day morning. Having booked an inside table, on the Open Table website approx 10 days prior, she suggested our family of 4 sit outside, on a drizzly and wet overcast day. While this was quickly resolved she then overlooked wishing my wife a Happy Mother’s Day. Again, quite small on its own but a simple gesture that would have made a big impact. Aside from this we enjoyed our meals and the manager made a point of engaging with us as we were preparing to leave. He even wished my wife a Happy Mother’s Day! Yes, we will come back. Thank you.

Dining on a Tuesday night it wasn’t extra busy or loud as it can get in this location. The food was incredibly delicious and came out to the table hot and in quick succession. The Edamame while very tasty could have been better and in more of a chilli garlic sauce than dry rub, and overall the spicey heat level was very mild. The wait staff were attentive but not so much that you were able to sit and enjoy the meal without much disruption.

Great Pizza, was very busy and a bit noisy for us. Lots of groups there
