Best restaurants near me in East Market St - NuLu

We go out to eat a lot and have lived in Louisville for 3 years and finally made it here. Not a single bite or sip disappointed. Definitely a new favorite!

Calling all Tourists, bourbon lovers, & date nights, this place should be on your list. The atmosphere & decor is phenomenal. If you want to sit in the room with the 2 walls of bourbon, make sure to ask for the Amber room, when you make your reservation. I was stunned at how low the food prices were. It’s not some bougie, high priced crazy menu. It’s basically pizzas, apps, salads, & desserts. Very reasonably priced. I was pleasantly surprised by that, considering the ambience & design, money put into this establishment. Our server was fantastic, I wish I remembered her name, because she was the best server I’ve had in years. She was professional, sweet, and efficient. She had phenomenal suggestions, and a great attitude. Parking is an issue, so don’t run late for a reservation, if you don’t know the Nulu area arrive a tad early. All in all we had an awesome experience. This will be my go to place for out of town guests, clients, and friends. Do yourself a favor, and at least have a drink here. P.S. for the sports fans there is a gigantic projection screen TV in the Amber Room. I was so enthralled by the atmosphere, I didn’t even see it until we were leaving. 5 stars all the way around.

Lou Lou's is an outstanding Cajun/Creole restaurant. This is the third time I've been there and it has been exceptional each time. Previously I have eaten the she-crab soup and a crab cake. Both are delicious. This time I ordered the Cajun seafood pizza. It was exceptional! My friend ordered the bourbon street salmon, which she raved about. My husband had the jambalaya, which he said was spicy but delicious. The service was wonderful. We told our waitress that we had theater tickets and needed our food in a timely manner and she made sure everything happened quickly and smoothly. We could not have been better pleased. A super evening out!

Great place for a business meal. The service was top-notch. The plating was amazing. The food was fresh crisp and just how you’d expect at a top-notch sushi location. Highly recommend this place for dinner and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. 

We had an amazing dinner. The staff was courteous, helpful, and attentive. The food was amazing! We had the guacamole sampler, pork mole, shrimp tacos, and a pitcher of margaritas. Complex tastes, great presentation--everything was perfect. I will definitely return the next time we're in town and recommend it to all my friends. Did I mention the food was amazing?
